# Is MNTN worth it for small marketing teams starting with CTV advertising?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi G2 community, a direct ask for the small marketing teams here: is MNTN worth it when you are starting with CTV advertising and nobody on staff has bought TV before? </p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Researching<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/connected-tv-ctv-advertising-platforms"> </a><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/connected-tv-ctv-advertising-platforms">Connected TV (CTV) advertising platforms</a> on G2, I found <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/mntn-performance-tv/reviews"><strong>MNTN Performance TV</strong></a> holds 4.8 rating, and it makes the clearest small-team pitch in the category: self-serve CTV run like paid search, conversion tracking through its pixel, and reviewers describing an approachable price point plus onboarding support that carries first-time TV advertisers, including its MNTN University training. The candid trade-offs from those same reviews: reporting lacks period-over-period comparison, and you cannot exclude specific networks, the kind of control a media buyer would eventually miss.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">The comparators, framed by fit rather than versus:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/stackadapt/reviews"><strong>StackAdapt</strong></a> (4.7, 895+): the step up in surface area, a self-serve DSP spanning channels beyond CTV with account teams that carry smaller shops; more platform than a first campaign needs, exactly right once you run several channels.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/the-trade-desk/reviews"><strong>The Trade Desk</strong></a> (4.4, 180+): the DSP-power end of the spectrum, built for teams with trading expertise and volume to justify it, and the contrast that makes MNTN's simplicity legible.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">My read: worth it when the team is small, the goal is performance you can defend, and nobody wants to learn a DSP. The fit weakens as channel count and control needs grow.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">For small teams a few campaigns in: did MNTN stay your platform as budgets grew, or did you graduate to a DSP, and what triggered the move?</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"></p>

&lt;p&gt;The trade-offs mentioned here, no period-over-period reporting and no ability to exclude specific networks, seem like exactly the kind of control a team would only start missing once they&#39;ve grown past the first few campaigns. For small teams a few campaigns in, did MNTN stay the platform as budgets grew, or was there a specific trigger that pushed a move to a full DSP?&lt;/p&gt;
