"Best NoCode Tool"
What do you like best about Retool?

Easiness of use + learning curve

I was able to create a quick admin panel to edit user profiles within less than 1 hour

Also it was supereasy and intuitive to connect with my DB or APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

Lack of tutorials + Onboarding

If you are a first user you do not get to know how to use it or the differences between the product, it took me the same to understand Retool capabilities than creating the first app copying from an existing one Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A User-Friendly Solution for Fast, Branded Internal Tools"
What do you like best about Retool?

Retool is a powerful tool that stands out for its user-friendly interface and minimal need for front-end involvement, making it especially useful for projects with limited development capacity. The ability to customize themes to fit branding is a huge plus, adding a polished, on-brand feel to applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

On the downside, as a designer, there are a few areas for improvement, like reducing the number of clicks needed to reach certain goals and offering a broader selection of fonts. Despite these minor points, Retool's strengths keep it as a top choice for building internal tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The power of low code without no ties with proprietary data sources"
What do you like best about Retool?

My experience with Retool has been a blend of a fast learning curve and productivity. I achieved positive intermediate results, enabling the creation of highly productive features for my stakeholders even after the first day of use. It is accessible for individuals with basic knowledge of data structures and no programming skills, yet it is remarkably flexible for experienced developers to quickly generate low-code solutions using SQL and JavaScript. Intuitive functionalities seamlessly operate when experimented with, particularly when users comprehend the object/component model and data bindings. I discussed with my stakeholders the transformation of 40-hour tasks into a mere 4-hour cycle encompassing development, testing, and release.

It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to connect to standardized data sources such as Postgres or other DBMS, as it allows me to employ alternative solutions for tasks like backup, data migration, or other data governance procedures. As a multi-client team, utilizing multiple connections enables me to maintain the segregation of client data within our cloud structures or within dedicated client structures in a secure manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

Use cases with special requirements are either not supported or are addressed through workarounds. It appears that the Retool engine prioritizes optimization, maintaining a well-balanced component dependency tree. However, this safeguard introduces a barrier that I anticipate could be overcome by incorporating custom React components into the architecture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Retool is a great tool for quick internal apps for both data and software teams"
What do you like best about Retool?

Retool has been a massive help for both our data and software projects. It lets us easily build internal apps, dashboards, and prototypes without needing to dive into tons of custom code, which has sped up our ability to test and launch new ideas. Whether we're working with data manipulation or creating tools to streamline workflows, Retool has been very useful.

Plus, it’s super reliable and easy to pick up, so our whole team was up and running fast with just a custom internal training.

We loved how it lets us connect to any database or API, making it flexible enough for all kinds of projects. Retool has definitely become our go-to for prototyping and building internal tools! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

An app which has write access to the database is quite powerful, but it can also lead to mistakes. One must be very careful about what users have access to the app, what information is shared, and what could go wrong with such permissions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Retool is an excellent, reasonably priced solution to a variety of helpful business tools."
What do you like best about Retool?

The Customer Support has been very responsive and helpful. The functionality provides an easier interface to create useful tools while still providing lots of customization for more complicated features and workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

I haven't run into many issues with Retool. The documentation could be a little bit better explaining some aspects of JS code. It would be nice to have the option to do more in Python since I know that better, however, that may be a more personal request rather than a widespread help. "Easy to Use"
What do you like best about Retool?

I've been using Retool for our company for a little over 1.5 years, and I think it's hands-down the best application to use when trying to build no-code or low-code tools for internal use. We've been able to bring about a large amount of tools for our various platforms, and have also had a really easy time with setting up the integrations with our platforms. The implementation process was simple and precise, and Retool has become the system that our team uses tools from daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

I would like some guidance on Javascript building as we're working on low-code projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
