Since my last review, the AI App Builder has been the biggest addition for me - being able to describe what I need and get a working starting point cuts a lot of the setup work out of building an internal tool. I've also leaned more on the range of data source integrations; connecting our existing databases and APIs is straightforward and means less glue code to maintain on our side.

They updated the interface to look modern and easier to navigate

We continued to use it for a few years, and it worked fine. But ReTool were slow to pivot to AI-based tooling, and in that time gap we used AI to build out in-house tooling that replicated what we were paying ReTool for. We've since seen that Retool has brought out AI-friendly tooling, and if I was starting over from scratch, I'd consider using ReTool; I'm confident they've got a good grasp of the enterprise security side of things, but at a small business owner, with a functioning operations stack that costs me pennies per month, at this point there's not a good reason to go through the effort to switch back.
