Blocked Cancellation: I attempted to cancel my account, but Replit's system blocked me from doing so due to a negative credit balance incurred by their own AI agents.

Threatening System Emails: Next, they sent automated warnings claiming that if the issue wasn't resolved, my active deployments would go offline, I’d lose Replit Agent and collaborator access, and my unused credits would be forfeited.

Relentless Payment Retries: Despite threatening service revocation, their system kept attempting to charge my card behind the scenes for nearly two weeks until a charge finally went through.

Refund Friction & Dark Patterns: When I immediately requested a refund, support added an unnecessary layer of friction: requiring a explicit "confirmation email" before processing it. If you don't respond right away because you're busy, they close the ticket, keep your money, and shift right back to sending automated marketing promos reminding you that your subscription is about to expire. First, canceling an account is an absolute nightmare. The user interface obscures basic account management and cancellation options under confusing workspace menus instead of clear account settings, making it needlessly difficult to find a straightforward "Cancel" button. If the subscription for the collaborative workspace plan ends, the shared workspace is removed for the remaining members. At that point, they have to pay the subscription fee and rejoin the project to regain access. In practice, the workspace disappears for everyone else and stays visible only to the creator of the workspace or project. As a result, we still need to pay the subscription fee just to rejoin the project so that someone who was previously part of it can continue working, even if they only want to finish the project individually and no longer need active team collaboration.
