Before, I was using excel to manage these calculations, which took a lot of time and I constantly had to fix errors. With IMS, I set it up with the generous support I get from the company and then I'm all set. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** I wish there was a bit better control over the flow for the investor when they first sign up for an investment but it hasn't been a critical issue. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** If you have enough deal flow and your projects are big enough, the IMS platform makes financial sense and will save money and time for you. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** The calculations that the platform does for me are the biggest benefit. It has saved me a lot of time and effort. Statement generation for the investors is also a huge benefit. The statements are professional and very easy to generate once you set everything up. I have yet too use the NATCHA system for making distributions but expect that to be a big time saver as well. ### 2. Easy to use and figure out. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** New features are coming out quarterly, which means there might be a few bugs after release. I'm glad for the new features, but sometimes the new bugs can be annoying. Luckily bugs get corrected before too long. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** Set aside time for the initial implementation, and gather all data you need for the setup. Once setup, you'll save time and become more efficient. Remember to attend their webinars to stay on top of new features added into the system. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We now offer an online log in for our investors. We can upload tax returns once, and direct investors there - No more sending an investor another copy of a tax return three months later when they can't find your email. Use CRM to track investor conversations between different team members. ### 3. Many features have replaced our internal processes, such as using spreadsheets for tracking and calculating, sending bulk emails, and automating the e-signing of legal documents. The IMS team is also totally committed to excellence as they are constantly rolling out improvements and upgrades to the platform. Costumer service has always been outstanding. The IMS team is knowledgeable and always ready to tackle questions and challenges. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** As mentioned the platform is always being upgraded, so keeping up with the new roll-outs can be a challenge. But, this is the speed of business and IMS simultaneously releases training videos, tutorials and updates to the knowledge center.. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** If you are considering IMS, request a demo for key users of your team. Before hand, make a list of the pain points of your current process. IMS will likely ease or solve for problems you may have. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** There have been many benefits and problems that IMS has solved for us in the past, e-signature with the integration of DocuSign, CRM that holds all investor data, bulk upload of K-1s, bulk email to investors by project, providing asset documentation to investors, and overall the investor dashboard. The investor dashboard provides access to asset documents as well as K-1s. The dashboard also supplies distribution information in a easy to read, beautiful layout. The Deal room is also beginning to offer a great solve for our "new opportunity introduction" and equity raise progression. This feature is combining many steps in our original process, saving time and increasing efficiency. ### 4. IMS also stays on top of technological advances unique to the real-estate industry such as the recent release of seamless integration with Yardi. Finally, the members of the support team respond quickly and are very knowledgeable. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** The only issues we've experienced are a few items on the investor dashboard haven't consistently reported correctly for investors with multiple investments in the same entity. The data processing seems to struggle with accommodating multiple investments when additional ownership is not received. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** IMS is well worth the cost for any real-estate management firm. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** One central place (cloud-based, not on a local server) for all entity data. Easy setup for complex partnership structures and a software that maintains waterfall structures. Also, error-reduction in investor return calculations since we've moved from spreadsheets to IMS. ### 5. We have been very pleased with the level of customer service and the overall system's capabilities. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** Some of the interface is not intuitive from an administrator setting and requires a certain level of technical fluency. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** Make sure you understand your requirements prior to evaluating the software. Ask specific questions to the team. IMS has the ability to do just about anything - you just need to know the right question to ask. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are trying to better manager our in house fundraising platform in a cost-effective and scalable manner. ### 6. We appreciate being able to track interest in our investment opportunities the calculation of the distribution waterfall. The customer service is very quick and helpful, and so are the webinars they publish. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** Some of the features of the administrative interface are not as intuitive. That being said, overall we find the platform to be very user-friendly. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** IMS has allowed us to streamline the retail investment process and makes managing our assets easier, which saves us time and money. ### 7. We were told that this was due to our fund's "large size", which at the time was only 300 investors. System was not intuitive to use and support was not effective. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** Be sure the platform can handle the number of funds and investors you plan to drive through the system. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We hoped to have a sophisticated and reliable platform on which we could host our family of funds and enhance our investor relations function. But, in the end, and after working hard in an attempt to get IMS to meet our needs, we were compelled to terminate our contract and move to another platform. ### 13. IMS is packed with features and new releases come about every month or so. **What do you dislike about RealPage IMS?** IMS support is a difficult process. It usued to be full service support, but now it is put back on the customer to solve their own problems ever since the company's re-organization in early 2018. **Recommendations to others considering RealPage IMS:** IMS is a great platform for the money. They continue to release new features every month. **What problems is RealPage IMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work for a real estate investment firm.
