My favorite thing about Raspbian (Raspberry Pi OS) is how light and optimized it is for the Raspberry Pi hardware. It runs smoothly even on older versions, and the interface is simple and clean, making it easy for new users and experienced users alike to navigate. The huge user base is a definite boon, too — if I ever encounter issues, I can usually find a tutorial or forum thread that contains the answer. I also like just how simple it is to install software with APT and just how smoothly GPIO and other Pi-specific features play together.
