How much does Proton Pass For Business cost in 2026?

Who is Proton Pass For Business pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviewers, Proton Pass For Business's pricing is best suited for small businesses and privacy-conscious professionals across industries including IT, legal, health, consulting, and financial services. G2 small business reviewers consistently praise the entry-level Pass Essentials tier for covering core credential management needs affordably. Teams requiring SSO, SCIM, and enterprise policy enforcement gravitate toward Pass Professional, with IT and computer security reviewers specifically citing these controls. Organizations already using Proton Mail or Proton Drive find the Workspace Standard tier particularly compelling since it consolidates multiple tools under one subscription. Mid-market reviewers note Proton Pass For Business is still maturing for complex enterprise workflows but performs well for teams under 100 users.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Proton Pass For Business?

Proton Pass For Business does not offer a permanent free tier but provides a free trial for evaluation. The entry-level Pass Essentials tier starts at $1.99/month and covers unlimited logins, built-in 2FA, dark web monitoring, passkey support, and hide-my-email aliases. Upgrading to Pass Professional at $4.85/month adds SSO, SCIM provisioning, detailed activity logs, enterprise policies, SIEM integration, file attachments, and CLI access. G2 reviewers in IT and security roles specifically call out SSO and admin controls as key upgrade drivers. The VPN and Pass Professional and Workspace Standard tiers bundle additional Proton services, with Workspace Standard at $12.99/month covering the full Proton business suite including 1TB storage and encrypted email.

Is Proton Pass For Business considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers overwhelmingly rate Proton Pass For Business at 5.0/5, with many citing strong value relative to cost. Multiple reviewers highlight that Pass is bundled within Proton's broader suite, eliminating the need for a separate password manager subscription. One G2 reviewer in accounting noted paying nothing extra since it was already included in their plan. Reviewers switching from LastPass, 1Password, and Dashlane consistently describe Proton Pass For Business's pricing as competitive, especially given its end-to-end encryption, email aliases, built-in 2FA, and dark web monitoring. A small number of mid-market reviewers flag single-vendor dependency as a concern, but this is a security philosophy objection rather than a cost complaint.

What do you like best about Proton Pass For Business?

I can easily generate passwords (especially on mobile) and organize them based on security level, so future contractors or employees can have access to only particular logins. The browser extension makes it very easy and fast to save new logins because it prompts me as soon as I create an account. Autofill works very well on my phone and desktop to easily input my username and password, or if it doesn't work for some reason then I can just copy and paste quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Proton Pass For Business?

The limit on the number of vaults. It's helpful to use vaults as categories or security groups, but I wanted to share one of my personal vaults to my business account because it had some high-level business passwords I wouldn't want to share with just anyone. But apparently 2 is the limit (which was not indicated anywhere) so it is extremely limited unless I upgrade to nearly double the price. The plan comparison didn't mention a limit on vaults, so it looked like Workplace Standard and Workplace Premium had the exact same password manager as Mail Essentials, which is probably not the case at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Proton Pass For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?

I would never be able to remember any of these passwords and the usernames. I also use it to store important information like the EIN number, which also makes it really easy to just copy and paste. I depend heavily on this to run my business everyday. I know that when I hire my first employee, I would be able to easily give them access to all the logins they would need without worrying about giving them too much.
