## About Proton Drive For Business
Proton Drive for Business is a secure cloud storage and collaboration solution specifically designed to assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in safely storing, sharing, and managing their files and documents. This platform prioritizes privacy and security, employing robust encryption methods to protect sensitive business data. By ensuring that only authorized users can access files, Proton Drive for Business also helps organizations comply with various data protection regulations, making it an essential tool for businesses that handle confidential information. The target audience for Proton Drive for Business includes SMBs that require stringent safeguards for client data, intellectual property, and operational documents while facilitating seamless team collaboration. Typical use cases encompass securely storing business files, sharing documents with internal teams or external partners, and enabling real-time editing of documents and spreadsheets. The platform’s central administrative interface allows for effective management of access controls and compliance measures, ensuring that businesses can operate securely and efficiently. Key features of Proton Drive for Business include end-to-end encrypted cloud storage, which ensures that files are encrypted on the user’s device before being uploaded, with only authorized users able to access them. This level of security means that even Proton cannot decrypt customer files, providing an added layer of privacy. The solution also supports regulatory compliance with international standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA, making it particularly valuable for SMBs operating in regulated industries. Additionally, data stored in Proton Drive benefits from Swiss legal protections, which offer stronger safeguards against surveillance and unauthorized access compared to many other jurisdictions. Collaboration and sharing features are integral to Proton Drive for Business, allowing users to share files securely via encrypted links or email invites. Users can set passwords, expiration dates, and revoke access at any time, ensuring flexibility in file sharing. The platform also supports real-time collaboration, enabling teams to work together on documents and spreadsheets with synchronized updates. Features such as file versioning and recovery further enhance business continuity by allowing users to track changes and restore previous versions of files, mitigating risks associated with accidental alterations or data loss. For administrators, Proton Drive for Business offers a centralized panel for managing users, permissions, and storage limits, along with monitoring sharing activity. The solution supports multi-user environments and allows for the implementation of security policies, including two-factor authentication (2FA) and hardware security keys. This comprehensive approach to security and management positions Proton Drive for Business as a privacy-centric alternative to mainstream cloud services, ensuring that business data remains accessible only to authorized personnel while integrating essential compliance features for SMBs in regulated environments.

## Proton Drive For Business Reviews
 ### 1. An online storage solution that is secured within an environment focused on safety

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** B A R. | CEO, Consumer Goods, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton Drive for Business provides our company with safe, protected backup solutions that can be accessed from anywhere and on any device. Encrypted files can be shared via links or email, with optional password protection and expiration dates. Files cannot be seen or accessed by the Proton team, which ensures a deeper level of privacy compared to other “storage” products. Access to files (with permissions) can be monitored and revoked easily.

The ability to collaborate through their cloud service is an invaluable tool for users who need to work on the same files from different locations. While it remains strictly privacy-focused, Proton Drive for Business is ISO27001 certified and SOC 2 Type 2, which helps it stay compliant with global standards for information security.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Initially, the file upload process was slow and often took more than one attempt to upload files. Although this issue has since been resolved and is no longer the norm, it can still act up occasionally and take a long time, even with a fast and secure internet connection.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much of our data exchange and file sharing involves clients who are required to be HIPPA compliant, and Proton Drive for Business provides the piece we need to work with a select few of our strategic partners while meeting those requirements.

 ### 2. Flexible Large-File Sharing with Customizable Shareable Link Permissions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James B. | Owner/Opperator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

The flexibility of sharing files too large for faster in-chat methods. I specifically like the Shareable links with adjustable permissions.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I find the whole interface slow to use. I feel like I have to log in every time I go to use it, I have several folders with large quantities of files and it takes the system time to index them every time I open the file and instead of defaulting to batch downloads it wants to bundle and download as a zip which adds an extraction step after everything else.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Drive is the best method for sharing files too large for email or chat clients. It's a secondary addition to the secure email which was my primary focus but because of that it's value proposition is excellent.

 ### 3. Secure, simple file storage that gives me peace of mind in cloud storage for client work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callie D. | Digestive Health & Bariatric Coach | Purify Mentor

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

The end-to-end encryption means sensitive documents are locked down properly, not just "password protected" in name only. Sharing files with clients is refreshingly straightforward, no convoluted permission settings to wrestle with. The interface is clean and simple, and I really appreciate the version history - a handy safety net of knowing I can roll back.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Storage on the lower tiers is a bit limited. I have to plan ahead about what I keep, more than I would with a more generous allowance.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the problem of data protection. I have peace of mind knowing my documents are encrypted properly. That matters enormously when running a client-facing business; it lets me focus on the work instead of worrying about whether I've left a data door wide open somewhere.

 ### 4. Describe Protect your privacy with Proton — secure email, VPN, drive, and more.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William K. S. | Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist, VCP5, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

What I like best about Proton Drive For Business is its zero-access end-to-end encryption, which ensures I can keep all my documents, files, and sensitive business data fully encrypted and safe at all times, while maintaining complete control and peace of mind.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

What I dislike about Proton Drive For Business is the limited document editing capabilities, as it currently only offers basic Docs and Sheets with fewer ways to edit other document types, and it still needs significant improvement to reach the seamless, feature-rich experience of Google Workspace apps.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Drive For Business solves major problems such as insecure file storage, risky document sharing, and dependence on untrusted big tech providers by offering zero-access end-to-end encryption, which benefits me by enabling safe and efficient coordination of document sharing and editing with my team, clients, and partners in a truly secure manner.

 ### 5. Good alternative to Google Suite

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon S. | Artist

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Switching to Proton Drive from Google Drive was about ensuring that the data I add to documents and spreadsheets is kept secure. While some of their programs are not as advanced as Google's, the vast majority of functionality I need is there and I can offset the slight reduction in functionality with the increase in data security.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Having moved from Google Drive and Google Docs to Proton Drive, I have found that some of the functionality I was used to (particularly in Google Sheets) is not yet available. As this is a newer product, I am hopeful that they will continue to deliver updates and add functionality. In particular, as a UK user, I find it is inconsistent in how it applies date formats and currencies. It is often possible to overcome these limitations, but I find it is sometimes inconsistent so I have to guard against this and apply a bit more vigilance when updating documents.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Drive provides a far more secure way of storing and accessing documents than I used to get using Google Drive. It also offers writing and spreadsheet programs that, while lacking in some functionality compared with Google Docs, still give me 90% of the tools I need. The loss of a small amount of functionality is a fair trade-off for me, when set against the improved security.

 ### 6. Secure Cloud Storage That Keeps My Business Data Private

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian W.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

like that Proton Drive gives me secure cloud storage without handing my business files over to Google, Microsoft, or another company that may use my data for advertising or profiling.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

There are still a few areas where Proton Drive feels less mature than some of the bigger cloud storage platforms, but it continues to improve and the privacy benefits are worth it.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Drive solves the problem of needing secure, private cloud storage for business files without relying on big-tech platforms that collect, analyze, or monetize user data. I want to know that my documents, records, and business information are stored in a system built around privacy rather than advertising.

The biggest benefit is control and peace of mind. I can store and access important business files while knowing that my data is protected and not being mined to build an advertising profile. Proton Drive also fits well with the larger Proton ecosystem, so it gives me a more privacy-focused alternative for running my business. It may not have every convenience of the largest cloud platforms yet, but the direction is strong, the product keeps improving, and the privacy-first approach is exactly what I want.

 ### 7. Proton Drive: It might need to offer a BAA

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah O.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I like that it is included with the subscription I already have. I only became aware of it recently, so need to explore whether Proton offers a BAA if I am going to store clinical documents there. I’m confident that the documents would be safe, but the rules are that I need a BAA.
In brief, I need to learn more about it.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Again, I need to learn more and have been quite busy and haven’t had/made the time yet to explore usability and option for BAA. If they don’t offer a BAA or equivalent, that would be something I dislike. However, I’m fairly sure BAAs are just for HIPAA covered entities, not other industries, so it’s not likely to be an issue for most users.
Also, it really is more secure than Workspace for Healthcare.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hopefully it will be a better place to store my clinical documents. That is the need and the benefit.

 ### 8. I tried occasionaly to use and it was all right

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sylwester M. | Web Designer

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

What I like best about Proton Drive for Business is that it gives me simple, private cloud storage without making the workflow complicated. It works across browser and mobile, keeps files easy to access, and feels more privacy-focused than the usual big-tech options.

The main benefit is peace of mind: I can store and share business files while keeping control over where sensitive documents are kept.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Could be probably faster transfer. And obviously never enough space. What I dislike about Proton Drive for Business is that it can feel less mature than some larger cloud storage tools. Syncing and collaboration features are not always as smooth or flexible as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
I also wish the interface stayed faster and simpler. When privacy is the main selling point, the product still needs to feel lightweight and easy to use every day.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes you just need to share the files, documents and G-Drive is already fully packed.

 ### 9. Piece of Mind Encryption

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton Drive has been dependable and easy to use. File synchronization has been reliable, and I like knowing my files are protected with end-to-end encryption. It integrates well with the rest of the Proton ecosystem, so having Mail, Calendar, Drive, and Pass under one account makes everything simpler. I don't need a lot of extra features—I just need my files to be available when I need them, and Proton Drive has done that consistently.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The only real downside is that Proton Drive doesn't yet have all of the collaboration and productivity features that more mature cloud storage platforms offer. If you're coming from Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, you may notice a few missing conveniences. For my needs, though, the tradeoff is worth it because privacy and security are my priorities.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted a secure place to store and access my files without giving up control over my data. Proton Drive gives me confidence that my files are protected with end-to-end encryption while still being easy to access from my computer and phone. It has become my primary cloud storage because it lets me back up important documents and access them wherever I am without sacrificing privacy.

 ### 10. Good for solopreneurs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristine M. | Software Support Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I can access my files on any device, including uploading files from my phone. I can work directly on the files on desktop, and seamlessly integrate them with my personal files (but control access by limiting permissions).

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Limited space, which could become a problem when I start accumulating a lot of art and video files, but that's expected.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing and storing files across multiple devices. I live on the go, so I have a phone, laptop, and desktop. It makes it really easy to seamlessly pick up from where I left off or reference something when I'm not home.

 ### 11. perfect for running multiple businesses securely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross M.

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

The end-to-end encryption gives me genuine confidence that my business files are private, not just from hackers but from Proton themselves. I run multiple ecommerce brands and deal with a lot of sensitive documents like supplier agreements, invoices, VAT filings, and product research, so knowing that everything is zero-knowledge encrypted at rest is a huge selling point. I also love that it integrates with the rest of the Proton ecosystem, so my email, passwords, storage, and VPN are all under one roof with one consistent privacy standard. The ability to use it as a cloud backup destination via tools like rclone makes it genuinely useful as part of a proper redundant backup strategy, not just a basic file locker.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The desktop and web apps still feel a step behind competitors like Google Drive or Dropbox in terms of speed and polish. Syncing can be a bit sluggish with larger file sets, and the lack of deep third party integrations means it doesn't slot into every workflow as seamlessly as I'd like. I'd also love to see better collaboration features like real time document editing and more flexible sharing controls, especially for working with external partners who aren't on Proton.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the fundamental trust problem with cloud storage. With Google or Dropbox, you're handing your files to companies whose entire business model revolves around data. Proton flips that by making it technically impossible for them to access your content. For a small business owner managing confidential supplier pricing, financial records, and brand strategy documents, that matters. It also reduces vendor sprawl by keeping my storage bundled with my email and password manager under one subscription, which simplifies billing and means fewer accounts to manage.

 ### 12. Everything Google and Microsoft have with none of the selling of your soul

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole B. | Development Manager

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I do not ever worry about if I have enough storage, I likely will never run out. I love knowing that my data is protected in my most prized documents. It truly feels like Google's workspace (spreadsheets, docs, slides, etc) but actually safe. I think people underestimate truly how high of standards this company has.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I don't have much. The usual download file type is not a .pdf, it is their own extension. So I need to manually change it. But that's the case with other similar applications too, so not really an issue at all.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data security.

 ### 13. Proton Drive meets and matches the other cloud-storage sites

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorin R. | Consultant, AI for Small Business

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I've never been as convinced that in-cloud-storage is as good an ideas as so many folks think... I'm not a fan of investing lots of files into cloud-storage, only to find that I've closed that account with that vendor, or some other thing interrupts cloud-storage access. That said, Proton Drive seems to meet and match the functional features of others like DropBox, One Drive, Google Drive, etc., without the concerns over who owns my data (I'd trust Google or Microsoft not at all in this regard).

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Generally, the same thing that makes me distrust or just not use cloud-storage for "all my files" -- Seems like an all-eggs-in-one-basket solution to a problem I really don't have. I much prefer having sufficient local storage, with a good online/cloud backup service/solution.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A

 ### 14. Secure and Solid

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aster G.

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I like that the switch was pretty straightforward from google.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I dislike that the desktop app does not let me move files into proton drive easily, I dislike that there is no presentation option (maybe allow for an integration with canva or something, and the formatting transfer from google docs for tables in docs was sloppy. Also sharing is less straightforward with collaborators. And if there is a desktop app, it is not easy to find.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure docs for my clients, planning to continue migration from Google and Microsoft.

 ### 15. Secure, privacy-first document storage with a few rough edges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

The end-to-end encryption is the main reason to use it. Knowing that files, metadata, and user data are completely secure gives great peace of mind when handling confidential business documents and client information. The web interface is clean, file uploading is straightforward, and the link-sharing feature with password protection works flawlessly.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

While the security is top-tier, the collaboration features feel a bit limited compared to mainstream alternatives. Real-time co-editing isn't as smooth as it could be, and the syncing speed on the desktop app can occasionally lag when handling large batches of documents. It requires a bit of patience if you are managing massive folder structures.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

t solves the issue of data privacy compliance. In our workflow, we manage sensitive documentation that cannot risk being exposed or scanned by third parties. Proton Drive provides a highly secure environment that ensures we meet privacy standards without needing complex, hard-to-use encryption software.

 ### 16. Secure cloud storage with room for growth.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

The absolute best part is the zero-knowledge, end-to-end encryption. Knowing that our business files are completely secure and private before they even leave our devices is a massive advantage. I also love how well it integrates with the rest of the Proton ecosystem, making it easy to share files securely right alongside our mail and passwords. Plus, it’s great to see that the platform is constantly being improved. They are regularly rolling out new features and updates, which shows they are genuinely committed to making it a top-tier business tool.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The standard file management still feels a bit too basic for heavy business use. It really lacks advanced search capabilities, quick filtering options, and the ability to manage and organize large batches of files efficiently all at once.
Also, as someone dealing with heavy media, I really wish they offered a true unlimited storage plan. Right now, I'm limited when it comes to backing up hundreds of large video files from my drone and Insta360 cameras. To make things even better, I'd love to see a built-in media player that fully supports 360-degree footage—complete with pinching, zooming, and panning. Having that kind of functionality integrated directly into a secure cloud would turn Proton Drive into a perfect, private alternative to platforms like YouTube for sharing raw footage with clients.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Proton Drive solves is the total lack of privacy you get with mainstream providers like Google Drive or OneDrive. With Big Tech, your company files, financial spreadsheets, and internal documents sit on servers where the provider technically has full access to them, which always feels like an unnecessary risk. Proton Drive completely removes that worry by ensuring that everything is encrypted on my device before it even hits the cloud.
It also solves the problem of clunky, outdated secure storage tools. In the past, if you wanted extreme security, you had to sacrifice usability. Proton Drive bridges that gap nicely, especially now with Docs and Sheets integrated right into the ecosystem.

 ### 17. Secure way to store important files

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Since I'm trying to switch to Proton and ditch Google, I like that the Business plan comes with docs, spreadsheets, and some storage. I am moving my Drive files over. The interface is clean and easy to use--it matches all the Proton products. You can also store photos in a special folder, and there are share settings. Since I am not a Docs power user, I think it will have everything I need.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I would like more storage space, which comes with plan upgrades. I also think Proton has a lot to do to catch up to Google docs and spreadsheets, but again, I don't use these apps much. I mainly have used Drive for storage so far, and it has enough space for my needs.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I feel like my files will be more secure, and since I can host all my email addresses in one place, I can easily access the Docs instead of logging into multiple different accounts.

 ### 18. Well-Featured suite of business apps to give assurance to your clients

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I work with a lot of confidential client information. Using Proton gives assurance to clients that I take that privacy and confidentiality seriously.
The Backup feature also helps keep the files on my work computers safe while working in the background.
Proton Drive is also feature rich, giving my company the advanced options we need.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I am not very experienced with how to use the Backup features in any drive-backup platform and it doesn't provide a lot of instruction. Found out I was using it the wrong way, but after some experimenting I discovered the correct way to set it up.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients need access to some files and using Proton Drive gives them assurance that their files are kept safe.

 ### 19. Promising privacy-first cloud storage platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

The best part of Proton Drive For Business is the strong focus on privacy and end-to-end encryption while still providing a modern and clean user experience. I like having a secure place to store business documents and sensitive files without relying entirely on larger data-driven platforms. The integration with the broader Proton ecosystem, including Proton Mail, makes account management and collaboration much simpler. File sharing is straightforward, performance has been solid for my use cases, and the product continues to improve quickly with regular updates.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton Drive is still a newer product compared to more established cloud storage platforms, so there are some advanced collaboration and workflow features that are still missing or less polished. Certain integrations, syncing behaviors, and team collaboration tools could be expanded further for power users and larger organizations. While the core experience is strong, there are still moments where the platform feels like it is catching up to competitors in terms of feature depth.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Drive helps me securely store and share business files while keeping privacy and encryption as a priority. It reduces my dependence on platforms that monetize user data and gives me more confidence when handling sensitive business documents. Having secure storage integrated with the Proton ecosystem also simplifies managing accounts, files, and communications in one place while maintaining a consistent privacy-focused workflow.

 ### 20. Secure and easy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton drive is a good alternative to google drive. Generally it covers anything I need to do. Mostly use it as a backup for important tax documents (which I would never do on Google Drive) and transferring files between devices in a pinch.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The main thing is I have never used it for collaborative document editing even if it's a feature that exists I don't know many people who use Proton so we often end up resorting to emailing a document back and forth or I have to login to the Google account I still have for YouTube and use that.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly having cloud tax document storage. Like to backup to the cloud but very few companies I would trust with storing that information in the cloud and not data harvesting it. But Proton is one of the few so I use it and don't need to worry (nearly as much) about loosing those documents if my laptop fails.

 ### 21. HIPAA compliant and fast for encryption

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I like that the uploads are surprisingly fast for an encrypted drive service. I like that they give so much free storage. I like that the interface is very intuitive and easy to use. I like how consistently reliable it is.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I don't like the sync feature because it has a bit of a learning curve. I think it should come with a little tutorial. It's not difficult to lose files when intending to keep them synced to the cloud. This may be an issue with any cloud storage service, but I wish it had more safeguards or warnings to let you know what you were actually doing.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing me to instill confidence in my clients that their info is safe with me. It gives me peace of mind that any proprietary or licensed info won't be used for other purposes, and is kept secure. I sometimes have to document scenes for legal teams, and the info I am privy to is sensitive and can't risk being compromised. With Proton Drive I have full confidence that I'm using the most secure cloud storage platform.

 ### 22. Overall the Best Private Business Suite Available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

This is used for privately sharing files and managing key internal documents that require sensitivity and speed of edit where multiple people can work on them simultaneously.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The drive app doesn't allow multiple user sign ins. I've got like 4 proton accounts (each with different orgs) but I can only have 1 Proton drive login on the app (Mac). The docs in the drive don't allow for easy Microsoft Word review/edit. I like Proton Docs edit feature, but the drive should still operate as a file store for older-format files. Proton Sheets is improving (it can now operate with better stability in browser) but there are sometimes where the browser gets painfully slow using sheets.
Regular Proton Docs defaults to edit mode. I'd rather default to suggest mode. There's no way to define an editor as "suggest mode only" where they can't edit. This feature is extremely useful in Google Docs where you don't want the jr. guy from accounting blowing up your entire doc just b/c they had edit privileges. It would be better if you could define edit roles better: Owner, Editor, Suggest-Only, Review-Only.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document sharing. Document editing.

 ### 23. Using Proton for a game studio startup

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I like the potential of having simple, straightforward general purpose cloud storage available for my business that can closely integrate with email.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

With no Linux support it's effectively useless for my business beyond storing simple files on occasion. I'd like to be able to store backups, build data/binaries and company branding assets but without robust commandline tools and desktop apps none of these uses are possible; uploading via the browser only is unreliable and incapable of moving any large amount of data.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can store/share simple documents and that's about it; there are many use cases Drive could fill for me but can't due to the lack of appropriate client side software.

 ### 24. Easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I use Proton Drive for storing business files that my team needs to access. I use it instead of Google Drive since my email is with Proton, so I just have one single platform for email and online file storage. There haven't been any features that I think are missing but I haven't done more than the basics of uploading and sharing files.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The image thumbnails didn't all load in a folder of a lot of images that I have when I scroll (maybe 100-200 images in this folder), which makes it hard for me to see what images I have.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business file storage in a single platform with my email provider.

 ### 25. Proton Mail and Proton Drive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan W. | Land Development Team Manager

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton Drive integrates well with all my devices, my desktop, PC and Mac.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Sometimes it's very slow and at times on my Mac I've had to exit the app altogether and re-open it. This seems to be improving as updates roll out however, so I have faith that it will become more stable.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A secure cloud service that inspires confidence that my data is safe from data scraping and other practices mainstream provides do.

 ### 26. Excellent reliable and secure product

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Remi P.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

For me, when it comes to data, security is the absolute priority, so end-to-end encryption is the most important thing for me. With Proton’s reputation, I have a lot of trust.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

There is a lack of features such as file upload requests—for example, I could send a link to a client so they can upload their files without needing an account, and everything would be secure.
For certain video formats, we cannot play them online and have to download the videos.
Download and upload speeds are not very fast.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data security is my priority, which reassures me to have a very high level of security.
Proton is excellent for security.

 ### 27. Superb in every way!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James L. | Manager of Software/Data Engineering and IT Ops at SUNRx

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Again, getting off of other insecure 3rd party services is awesome. I love that I can now do docs and sheets! All encrypted! I have been able to securely share these docs with legal reps and there has never been any issue.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Docs and sheets are still a bit buggy . Sometimes cursor skips places and sheets still has some refinement needed the UI/UX. I know it's a work in progress, so I'm willing to wait

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting away from spying from google.
Sharing docs securely.
Sharing in general.

 ### 28. An escape from legacy monitoring tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James R. | Data Operations Engineer III, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I’ve been waiting a long time for Proton to start doing this, and they’re executing it perfectly. It feels like a more refined version of Gmail and Microsoft Office that actually works, while also baking in real, tangible security features.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I honestly think it could be worthwhile for Proton to look into offering some kind of local, self-hosted setup. I realize that goes against the typical SaaS business model, but it would also give companies and individuals more control over their own security.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does what Google and Microsoft do, but better, and it actually gives you security.

 ### 29. Secure and Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ericka O. | Teacher of Physics

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton doesn't scan my files to use the data to sell things to me. I love the security of it. It's also easy to use from my phone or computer, just like competitors.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

At first, I was weirded out by the new drive automatically downloaded to my computer. Any of the files that I save to my Proton Drive do not exist on my computer as well. But this was a minor adjustment and I'm not sure what I was expecting that would have been better either. If I'm being honest, this is nit-picking.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

File sharing and keeping my documents secure to protect my IP.

 ### 30. mail should be secure, reliable and not used to monetise someone else's business and proton is this

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jon b.

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

we know files and folders are secure, not harvested for data analysis and can be securely shared

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

lack of dark mode in web interface and apps

having to use my primary email to share / have shared documents meaning I have to use my primary email, never an alias that others may know me as

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

secure store and share of documents in the business and ability to share externally where appropriate

 ### 31. It’s a full eco system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward C. | Founder

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

It’s huge level of storage included in the price. And that fact it’s encrypted even when the UK government sees to want to ban it is good

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

It’s handling of many smaller files. If you have a large next.js project. It will take forever up upload / download due to it encrypting 4 files at a time.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Privacy for my business files and ease of sharing just the ones I want.

 ### 32. Simplicity at it's best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gilberto R. | Member Board of Directors

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I like the fact that it is secured and I am able to share the documents with the team.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I don't like the interactions with the apps. I would have to download the excel, do the work, then save and re-upload. The collaboration part becomes difficult. specially because it doesn't support powerpoint.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a more accessible and collaborative workspace without utilizing a million different systems

 ### 33. Great UI, awesome features and excellent speeds

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres P. | Co-Founder & Principal Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Great UI, awesome features, and excellent speed. Securely sharing a folder with our accounting firm is really easy, and the whole process feels straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I’m honestly struggling to find anything I don’t like about it. The only downside for me is the lack of Linux support.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this to share important documents securely and temporarily with people outside my organization.

 ### 34. Secure, private email thatPrivate cloud storage for business files feels practical

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon L. | Director Of Communications, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I like that Proton Drive gives me encrypted cloud storage within the same Proton ecosystem I already use. It is useful for keeping business documents organized while maintaining a stronger privacy posture than typical cloud storage.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

It is still less mature than Google Drive or Dropbox for collaboration, sharing workflows, and integrations. For simple secure storage, though, it works well.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton Drive helps me store and manage business files in a more privacy-focused way. It reduces reliance on larger cloud platforms and gives me a better place for sensitive documents.

 ### 35. I like the privacy, but it's glitchy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

As with all of Proton products, the biggest draw for me is the privacy. I like being able to store things in the cloud knowing that it won't be sold to ad companies.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The Drive itself works fine. The newer products like Docs and Sheets can still be very glitchy. In Docs, if I highlight anything and then press delete, it'll somehow delete a handful of characters that come after it. Sheets has issues when it comes to copying and pasting. Overall, I still use them because of the privacy factor, but I know that it I'll likely get frustrated at something whenever I open the Docs or Sheets.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like all cloud services, it's solving the problem of where to store large amounts of files. The benefit is the privacy that comes from what the company guarantees.

 ### 36. Very easy to use , feature rich & privacy by default.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan H. | Owner / Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Very easy to use and navigate. Creating folders and managing files is straightforward and user friendly. The amount of secure storage provided is quite generous for what you pay.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton docs within Proton drive seems to glitch out on it's loading with certain browsers, so switched over to secure notes in proton pass instead.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure cloud storage for business critical files

 ### 37. Management of Important Docs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea E. | Licensed Massage Therapist

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I feel better about using Proton Drive as a way to keep the most important of my documents "safe". Losing something important in a device clean up was a problem for me. This circumvents that issue.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I have had a little trouble with importing docs from other drives. I'd like to know how to fix this.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It benefits me to have a probable more secure storage an an option to keep my more valued docs in one place so that I don't lose them.

 ### 38. Secure, Your business stays your business.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen H. | Sales Operations Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Easy to use, efficient, good bang for the buck, and you know your data isn't being scraped.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Haven't looked in a while, but haven't used a native linux client for data syncing. Otherwise great!

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A secure, single location for document management, storage, and a lite-backup -- for real backups use a true backup solution, not that this isn't reliable.

 ### 39. Privacy and well functioning business suite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey H. | Director

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Drive is really coming along with it's devolpments on web based spreadsheet and document editing. Allowing our team to collaborate on single documents at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Team members with Apple computers cannot use the Drive seamlessly. They have to download files, edit them and then upload. Once Proton fixes this issue we will drop DropBox and move over to Proton Drive in full.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drive offers tons of storage space and it seems like they are always offering us more free space amazing!

 ### 40. Excellent features, privacy and uptime

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton drive is very responsive and has a intuitive well-designed interface. I actually much prefer it to its competitors, Google drive and OneDrive. The organization also provides assurances that account. Privacy is a core value and I'm satisfied with the service uptime of proton drive.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton drive does have good technology connectors to be able to use various operating systems and workflows to upload and download files, but it would be a welcome improvement to see more progress made in supporting first party applications for the Linux operating system. I would also like to see the service become less expensive per user per gigabyte in the future.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proton drive provides and excellent place to back up essential files in a secure, encrypted manner and provides a great mobile app experience.

 ### 41. Intuitive User Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell R.

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

It is very easy to archive and synchronize files from my MacBook and iPhone to Proton Drive. I am also thrilled that a spreadsheet is now available as that was the only thing holding my small business back from fully integrating its use.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I am still learning how to use it with other members of my team. That has been a bit difficult to get everyone on board with.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping all my basic cloud computing in one easy to use, secure and intuitive environment has been Proton Drive's strongest asset for me.

 ### 42. Positive Administrative Experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Level of encryption and ease of use. The storage ability and capacity provided by Proton has benefited our company in numerous ways. It is easy to use and provides access to employee files across shared folders. The cloud access with a high level of encryption has been incredibly reassuring for our clients.

Offline access and app auto-locking has been wonderful for our employees as well!

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Not a whole lot. The UI of the mobile application could use an update, other than that the features are good and do not need new things added to them.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drive access across multiple devices in different countries. On top of that having access to computers across different devices to manage remotely.

 ### 43. Extra storage is a bonus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kami H.

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Love the extra storage that Proton provides through Drive. It is a nice addition to the Proton Business account.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

The biggest downside has been getting everyone on board using Proton Drive since we already have other cloud storage options that pre-existed Proton Drive. Switching over can be a hassle.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use Proton Drive for extra document management/storage at this time. However, I can foresee making better use of this resource in the future and streamlining our cloud storage to primarily Proton Drive.

 ### 44. Love the privacy features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariya C. | Mental Health Therapist

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Love that proton drive is part of the mail package. I use this feature to ensure I'm HIPAA compliant. I feel confident that my business's privacy will be protected.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

No downsides. I'm very happy with proton drive.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can save sensitive data in one place and know that it is safe and protected.

 ### 45. Love Proton!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton Drive is fantastic. It's secure and you can easily assign levels of access to individuals.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I think that the storage limits are low.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We went to a cloud based solution as opposed to on-premises servers for data storage and retrieval. This solved two issues: 1) we operate in an area that gets hurricanes, so our work would be interrupted for days at a time every year or two; and 2) we wanted to be more mobile and be able to access our data remotely. Proton Drive solved both issues.

 ### 46. Great, easy to set up email solution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shaun c. | Back End Developer

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

It's a great solution to send to to customers, and rclone our backups to

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

Access to files seem to be very slow compared to other cloud storage services. But this has apparently been changed recently

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rcloneing backups is a great support I did not expect to have.

 ### 47. Security is paramount to Trust

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian V. | Founder

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Drive provides the simple secure storage we need. Its integration the primary OS is seamless. Functioning like other cloud based file systems.
The integration with Proton mail makes it even easier.
Sharing files outside of proton is also a benefit that provides tight control.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

All of the features are not integrated into the primary OS and you either need to leverage the web version or app. Not a real issue but a small dislike.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reinforces our commitment to privacy and security of client data.

 ### 48. Very User-Friendly and non-controlling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karolyn H. | Freelance Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Again, Proton drive is very user friendly and not complicated. I trust that my data is secure. The price is very reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

So far, I haven't found anything that I don't like about it.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to save files to Drive immediately after working on a project without having to back up everything. I don't use Proton Drive to collaborate with anyone. I use it only for my eyes. It's nice to not have worry about losing or misplacing a physical hard drive.

 ### 49. The only cloud storage I recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

Proton provides peace of mind, and it’s helpful to know that sensitive date is protected as a mental health care professional.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

I wish there were more file types supported in previews, and I really missed spreadsheets…but they recently released this and it’s been a welcome addition. I look forward to seeing what’s coming next.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helpful to have a secure place to share files and collaborate with clients and peers. It’s hard to find actually secure cloud storage that’s HIPAA compliant or better without breaking the bank, and I trust Proton more than most other options out there.

 ### 50. A more secure communication and storage experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Proton Drive For Business?**

I have not used Proton Drive as much as Proton Mail but in the time that I've used it I like it very much. I use it currently as a repository for my notes and I'm working toward migration and consolidation of my pictures and documents from Google Drive and OneDrive. So far the process has been easy.

**What do you dislike about Proton Drive For Business?**

There are two main items I have issues with. There is no API currently available and there is not compatible Linux application for Proton Drive. Both of these are limiters in how much I can implement this into my workflow.

**What problems is Proton Drive For Business solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From a consolidation perspective, I am very interested in Proton Drive for Business to move away from Microsoft and Google.
