## Propllr Reviews
  ### 1. Propllr asks all the right questions and has all the right connections (WSJ and other big pubs)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie P. | Senior Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

You can tell their work isn't AI slop. It's genuine, researched, funny where appropriate, smart, and NEVER cliche. They take time to understand nuance and ask smart questions to uncover threads of gold.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There is nothing to dislike about Propllr's work or their team.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

You don't need to know who Propllr is for them to make everyone know who your business is. They've got the connections, the talent, and the team. They're small-ish but pack a huge punch in talent across every single hire.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like many places, we have really smart engineers and leaders with interesting POVs at our company but no idea how to get them in front of the right audience. Propllr does. They've published us in Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, InformationWeek, the AWS blog, TechTarget, Gigaom, CIO, and many others. As a marketing team, it's a huge relief to know that Propllr can not only get us into major publications that we could never access on our own, they can interview our SMEs and write the content for us. We're in a highly technical space and they still nail our content the first time. It's so impressive. Perhaps equally as important, their entire team is a joy to work with. They're funny, smart, empathetic, proactive, thoughtful, and quick. We've interviewed many well-regarded, better-known agencies who don't even come close.

  ### 2. Exceptionally Organized, Responsive, and Reliable Content Partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anya A. | Director of Marketing, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

Propllr is one of the most organized and reliable content agencies I’ve ever worked with. Once we established a plan, they put a clear system in place for tracking progress - and they actually followed it. Visibility and communication were top-notch. Brenna and Mark kept me organized, reminded me of upcoming deliverables, and always responded within 24 hours.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Honestly, nothing to dislike. They’re fairly priced by U.S. standards, and the quality of their deliverables was consistently great.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

If you’re looking for a content and PR partner who is structured, proactive, and genuinely easy to work with, Propllr is an excellent choice. They deliver on time, adjust quickly to feedback, and maintain consistent quality.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Propllr supported us across both PR and content marketing initiatives. They managed our earned media outreach and thought-leadership placements for about a year, then continued helping us produce short- and long-form blog content, guest articles, and executive bylines for another year and a half. Their team handled everything from topic ideation and research to writing, editing, and publication coordination.

  ### 3. Top notch team that brings the perfect mix of strategy, creativity, and hustle and gets results!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

The team at Propllr actually gets results. I was extremely wary of hiring an external PR firm, having worked with other firms in the past that I felt were very expensive and did not move the needle at all. I decided to give Propllr a chance based on the recommendation of another startup founder and was so glad I did.

The most important objective for us has been to build our name recoginition in the right communities and attract new clients and investors. Through the PR strategy Propllr crafted, we were able to do this. Most importantly to us, we have gotten to a place where the major trade publications in our industry pick up all of our news releases. We hear from new clients all the time that they found us because they saw XYZ announcement.

Additionally, the team is very entrepreneurial and flexible, qualities that we demand as a startup with constantly changing needs.

Highly recommend the Propllr team!

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

As with every business relationship, there have been occasional bumps in the road, but I find the Propllr team to be extremely solutions-oriented in managing through them, which is all I can ask for.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are an early stage fintech/climatetech startup that hired Propllr to help with our PR and content strategy. We are extremely pleased with the results of our relationship and have brought on new clients and increased revenue as a result of our engagement.

  ### 4. Content gurus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lana S. | Sales & Marketing Director, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

A highly experienced and qualified team with many good ideas. The team is very responsive. Propllr is always flexible if deadlines need to be moved around. And of course, the content is always great and of high quality.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Everything works very well hence there is nothing to dislike.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had the pleasure of working with Propllr for our content needs for past few years. Our experience with the agency has been exceptional. Their team consistently delivers high-quality content that often exceeds our expectations. Team's ability to generate fresh, creative ideas keeps our content engaging and relevant.

Propllr's team took the time to deeply understand the nuances of our business, allowing them to craft content that resonates perfectly with our audience. Their thoroughness and commitment to excellence have made them an invaluable partner in our content strategy.

Overall, Propllr has proven to be a reliable partner, and we highly recommend their services to anyone looking to elevate their brand's voice.

  ### 5. Perfect match for growing Tech business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

They generate results! They set aggressive goals for themselves, and they've exceeded them.

And it's a true teaming relationship; Propllr is an extension of our internal team.

They've always taken the time to understand our business (which isn't an easy thing)to do. It's been a very collaborative approach - together; we brainstorm on topics that we see day to day with our clients that might be of interest to the broader market.

The Propllr team is able to capture and simplify our messaging, identify what items might be newsworthy - and then find ways to get us exposure for our company and what makes us different.

I've been impressed at the team's willingness and ability to "go deep" on our solutions and find the key publications where our story is of interest.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

I don't dislike anything about working with them!

My experience has been nothing but positive, have always appreciated the personal level of service they provide.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

If you're a growing tech-focused firm, look no further. They provide expertise and capability that extends your reach and digital footprint beyond what a smaller firm could ever do on its own.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While my firm was well established in other parts of the world, we were a true start-up in the US!

We needed a PR partner to help us establish our brand amid the crowded market of Microsoft partners.

Our initial engagement was around generating attention regarding a key acquisition. Propllr was able to continue that momentum and establish our company as a thought leader in the Supply Chain Management space and how AI is impacting those solutions.

I've been amazed at their ability to generate attention to our story - leading to coverage in both vertical industry publications and broader IT influence points. I never expected to appear in InformationWeek so early in our journey!

  ### 6. Smart, Agile, Forward Thinkers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

With Propllr, you get an entire army of PR experts. They work as a team, they listen, and each and everyone pushes for deliverable excellence. From day one, Propllr accelerated our PR efforts and pushed our ability to be visible in the market with forward-thinking, strategically sound thought pieces that not only drove engagement but awareness, and tours for our brand. They coined the term Proworking to define a whole new category for us in an overcrowded market of coworking, flex-space office providers.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There is nothing we disliked about working with Propllr. They are super flexible, strategically sound, and always on the hunt for the next great story that truly propels your brand.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

Just talk with Josh. He is a very good people and excellent at what he does.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firmspace's had low visibility and brand awareness in each of our locations. Propllr helped us to be positioned as a thought leaders in the crowded coworking environment.

  ### 7. Propllr provides expert PR strategy and execution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seth B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

Their team is creative and detail-oriented. They bring new ideas and then follow through to closure. I never felt like tasks lingered or went unresolved.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Not much, to be honest. They have a great team and work very hard to bring value.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Propllr helped me with brand strategy, messaging, PR execution, and content development. We benefitted from their work with increased brand visibility, GTM execution, and PR placements.

  ### 8. Fintech Subject Expertise & Media Connections

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian H. | Founder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2022

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

My company, The Basis Point, is a sales and strategy consultancy to banks, lenders, and fintechs, and we'll often bring in PR firms as part of broader go-to-market plans. Propllr has been a years-long reliable partner on this playbook. Subject expertise is critical for credibility and results in the consumer finance sector. It's not enough to just be good promoters -- you must know granular details of how very technical consumer banking/lending products work. This includes the software that powers banks and lenders and the regulations that they must operate within. Propllr has always proven astute on core consumer finance subject matter well, and has also proven astute at going deeper when needed -- which is always for the work we do together :) This depth then translates very well to clear, credible media pitches to help position companies as leaders on today's hottest banking, lending, and fintech topics.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

The team is very good at serving as an extension of teams they work for. This is key, especially for early-stage companies who need reliable partners but need to control FTE cost.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Prollr is subject to turnover just like other firms in the space that employ ambitious team members who may seek other opportunities. So as a long-term partner, I've experienced turnover. But I would also say that there are very long-tenured key team members, and also new team members love Propllr culture and get up to speed fast -- which is a huge testament to founder Josh Inglis' nurturing management style.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See question 1 above.

  ### 9. Great experience working with Josh and the Propllr team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven H. | VP / General Manager, Radar Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2022

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

PR / Marketing services for our AI Radar Perception SW Company: Oculii

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

It was great to work with Josh, Amy, Jillian, Hunter and the rest of the Propllr team on shaping and crafting the narrative around Oculii. They were very valuable thought partners that helped to bring significant PR/Marketing resources to cover our company and technology.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Nothing - the team adapted very quickly to feedback and when stories/ideas weren't getting picked up we pivoted quickly. Very dynamic and flexible at working with startups that are constantly evolving.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

Highly recommended!

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Propllr is helping to get the word out about companies like Oculii, using their PR/Media relations to get stories about our technology and company published.

  ### 10. Top-Notch Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Propllr is our go-to partner for all of our PR needs. From drafting and distributing numerous press releases every month, securing media opportunities, and helping us submit (and win) industry awards, they are a valuable partner in more ways than one. The flexibility and expertise both their PR and content teams offer has been monumental throughout our partnership.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

As a fast-moving organization, I appreciate their ability to manage multiple moving pieces at once with open communication and a positive attitude. They are always open to new ideas and approaching projects from a new lens, which is a breath of fresh air while offering their professional opinion to help us reach our desired results.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There's not much to dislike about Propllr. If anything, we could use more of them to do even more great work!

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've made a name for ourselves in our respective industry and continue to grow our customer base. A big part of that stems from our PR efforts, getting in front of the media, and spotlighting our customers and the success they've had with our platform. We continue to push out fresh content with a steady beat of news month after month.

  ### 11. Extension of our team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire H. | Director of Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

We turned to Propllr to help position M1 as one of the world's top fintech startups and as the preferred platform to help people build wealth over time. We've worked with Propllr over a span of 4-plus years, ranging from our first year to today. They've dug deep into our business and show themselves to be every bit as excited to talk about our work and our successes as anyone inside the company, and they've helped land prominent coverage in TechCrunch, Bloomberg, WSJ, Money, Forbes, Business Insider, and many more.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

Propllr is a hyper-responsive and adaptive team, willing to pivot when necessary, and ready to go the extra mile when opportunities arise. They pitch each reporter as an individual, versus the spray and pray approach of other firms, and this has helped M1 build strong and lasting media relationships.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

This hasn't been an issue for us, and indeed might not be an issue, but I don't know if Propllr is what I could call a "big idea" PR firm. Ultimately, they hear what we need and they act on it with urgency. They describe themselves as having a "bias toward action" and it's evident. In short, our experience has been that if we give Propllr some direction - "here's what we want to achieve" - they find a way to make it happen.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our goal for PR was to position ourselves as among the top fintech startups, and Propllr has achieved that for us, with more and more coverage occuring not from a pitch, but from reporters just knowing we belong in important industry trends stories. The result is being felt across the board, from customer growth to recruiting to fundraising.

  ### 12. Top Notch PR/Content Pros at Propllr

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nils R. | Marketing Partner

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

The Propllr team understands the landscape and voice of modern media better than any agency I've worked with. They're able to speak the language of various customers and constituencies, which is essential for us, because we're investors in b2b and b2c companies in many different markets. Ultimately, I can always trust that if I ask Propllr for help, I know it's going to get done on time and in a high quality way.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Nothing to report here. The team is yet to let me down!

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PR strategy, media relations, and content marketing.

  ### 13. One of the best decisions we've made

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francis W. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2020

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Propllr has been helping NanoGraf navigate and improve our visibility in the media

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

We can’t say enough good things about Propllr. We have been working together for nearly 6 months now….the impact and traction with top tier outlets (i.e., Wired, Business Insider) has been immediate….it has made a difference in our in-bound requests on the business side which is one of the most critical aspects to taking a start-up to the next level. Most importantly, it has been the Propllr team that has impressed me the most: scrappy, “on-top” of things, quick learners and media navigation experts. Our company rests easy knowing that the Propllr team is representing us on the outside. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There really isn't anything that we've felt dissatisfied with Propllr. True partners

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

Propllr has been our first foray of its type. After interviewing many larger firms, perhaps more well known firms, we went with Propllr and this has turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made in a long time. Highly recommend this group of talented, motivated individuals. A++

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There has been a need to improve our visibility in the media (and more importantly in the Clean Energy space) and gain traction with potential strategics. As mentioned above, the impact and traction have been immediate, consistent and strategic.

  ### 14. A much-needed extension of our small but mighty team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily C. | Sr. Account Based Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2020

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Our marketing team at KnowledgeHound is small but mighty. We knew we needed to improve our digital presence but the first step to that was to build a better library of content. Because our team was so small, we decided to outsource some of our content needs so our internal group could focus on product marketing, demand gen, etc.

We tasked Propllr with creating engaging, educational, and industry-specific content including blog posts, case studies, eBooks, and even sales email cadences!

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

By far what I like best about Propllr is their flexibility and ability to quickly understand our highly technical product. KnowledgeHound is a data discovery and analytics platform. We play in a very specific field and our solution is very technical.

My initial concern with hiring a third party agency to create content for us was that they wouldn't be able to grasp the complexity of the product. This was not an issue whatsoever. After a few meetings explaining to them the in's and out's, they were able to intelligently and independently verbalize what our technology does and how it benefits our target audience.

In addition to quickly grasping complex technologies, they are also incredibly flexible as a PR/Content agency. No ask was too big or too small! We didn't hire them to write sales cadences but when we asked them to, they delivered great emails that I've been able to leverage for our sales team as well as re-purpose for our nurture program.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

The only thing I dislike is that Brenna and Julia aren't actually my colleagues at KnowledgeHound. Seriously, they're the best.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

Think carefully about what you need from them. Don't be afraid to get creative.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem I'm solving with Propllr is our content deficiency and our lack of time as a small team to quickly build content. They helped greatly with messaging as well I soon realized though. Working as a one-man-band, it can be really tough to find a new way to say the same thing across different marketing materials. They helped inspire new, creative, and effective messaging for us!

  ### 15. The Best Writers Around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruth A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2020

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Kin Insurance had the privilege to work with Propllr as a content partner for more than two years, and I can't recommend their work enough. Their team of writers – especially Brenna Lemieux – are among the best in the business. They consistently delivered well-researched, highly optimized, engaging blog posts, thought leadership articles, skyscraper pieces.

We also worked with Propllr as a PR firm, and they did an excellent job promoting the Kin worldview and helping us strategize with how to tell our story to a national and local audience.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

It's hard to narrow down what I liked best given the superlative experience, but I'd say the people. The Propllr team deeply cares about their clients and good communication. It was always a joy to talk through new ideas with them.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There's nothing I dislike about this company – their excellent work proved the value of a strong content program, which allowed us to grow our in-house program.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

I would recommend Propllr to any business looking to deliver engaging, relevant content to their audience, establish themselves as experts in their space, and rank well in search results.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We rely on Propllr to help us create consistent, well-optimized content for our blog and thought leadership channels, and both have been successful. Many of the posts Propllr created for us rank on the first page of search results for competitive keywords. While many content creators can write an article that checks all the on-page SEO boxes, few can also make it compelling. Brenna from Propllr is masterful at this balance.

  ### 16. Incredible Content & PR Services -- Perfect for Our Growing Start-Up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley J. | Director, Demand Generation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2020

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Propllr was referred to me when I was asking a friend about hiring a content writer.

Propllr fit our business needs: We were desperately in need for external-facing content. We initially hired Propllr for content services (four 750-word pieces a month) and after three months of service, we expanded our contract to include PR services. They continue to go above and beyond, and I'm excited about a long, continued plan for the future!

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

I was impressed how quickly Propllr caught up to speed. They completed extensive research about our business, our market, our buyer, and held minimal but effective onboarding conversations to make sure their research aligned to our findings and business strategy.

Propllr also quickly adapted content and writing style per our buyer's journey and content strategy. They were able to marry their strong writing abilities to our strategies and deliver thoughtful and on-point business content.

I love that I turn to Propllr as the expert in content and PR. We quickly realized what a source of knowledge they are. They take the time to answer one-off questions and ensure our content strategy can be the best it can be.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Truly nothing. They're a powerhouse agency.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

If you're a start-up or looking for content writing and/or PR services, Propllr is a strong agency and should be evaluated!

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a lean marketing team, so Propllr is filling the gap as our content engine. Because of their strong writing abilities, our content library has grown extensively, and I can use one piece of Propllr's content in about four to five different ways. The content Propllr produces fulfills our requirements of making strong, compelling demand gen activities.

Additionally, we are relying exclusively on Propllr for PR strategy and deliverables. They really are a strong extension of our marketing function.

  ### 17. Propllr is creative, hard-working, and on top of things

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc U. | VP of Marketing, Alliances, Business Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2020

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Propllr oversees most of our PR and assists with content (blogs, pillar pages, website content).

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

This team works hard to get us coverage across the spectrum and is creative to get lots of stories. Having worked with - and been frustrated by - big agencies who only want "the big story" Propllr is able to get us a ton of trade and local press and has used that to spin up big time stories as well.

Additionally, their content arm created readable, engaging content.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Propplr is PR and content for startups and sometimes it feels that way. They don't necessarily slick presentations and robust focus on strategy, but I will take their results, creativity, and diligence all day over those things.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proppllr gets us an amazing amount of press coverage and delivers good content to drive SEO and leads.

  ### 18. Outstanding Company for Emerging Brands

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Esther G. | Senior Marketing Communications Manager I Digital Marketing I Analytics , Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

We hired and continue to work with Propllr to establish our brand as a leading technology consulting services provider in Chicago and the midwest. They have exceeded our expectations and have really helped us gain traction in a very crowded marketplace.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

Propllr is phenomenal at what they do. Their diverse team offers competencies that really help to drive the performance of our content marketing, extending its outreach well beyond our core team's capabilities. They have also secured placements with highly recognized publications and influencers that have helped to increase our brand awareness.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Nothing remarkable. The team works very hard to meet deadlines despite how many projects demand their attention.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

If you are looking for a boutique PR firm with bright and tenacious employees, Propllr is your best bet in Chicago!

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a relatively new team with a lean pool of resources. Propllr helps to enhance and elevate our efforts. They really feel like an extension of our company.

  ### 19. Sr. Vice President of Marketing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2020

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Propllr develops content; contributed articles, develops and executes on press releases, coordinates content and press strategy and works with relevant publications and outlets to set up press interactions with Total Expert Leadership.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

The strategic thinking of all employees.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There is nothing I dislike about Propllr.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have greatly expanded the awareness of our company not just in our original market but the markets we have expanded in to.

  ### 20. If you are a startup in search of a PR firm, Propllr could be a great fit.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei U. | Chief Marketing Officer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

Propllr was the PR agency of record for us when I lead marketing at an InsureTech company.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

Great fit for startups. Being a small company itself, Propllr understands the needs, problems and opportunities that startups face. They will invest a lot of effort to understand the nature of your business and will essentially become an extension of your team. For a small PR firm they have strong relationships with the press, which extends beyond their native market of Chicago. Propllr also has a strong content team that help replace or supplement small firms' SEO efforts.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

They are a small firm. If you are looking for Edelman-like service, with a large team assigned to your account, Propllr may not be the right fit. But Edelman will charge you much, much more. Per dollar invoiced, Propllr will actually provide you much more than the big firms.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

Be clear on what your objectives are and how much you are willing to spend. Propllr will be honest and upfront with you on whether they are the right fit.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our goal with Propllr was to generate customer, partner and PR awareness for our company, and drive quality links to our site for SEO. They helped us accomplish all of that. We got extensive coverage by magazines such as Forbes and Inc., and our SEO program grew to become a huge success, partially owning to Propllrs help.

  ### 21. Excellent Content and PR Services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grafton R. | Head of Marketing, Insurance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

We asked Propllr to augment our content creation and strategic capabilities, and help with local and digital PR. They exceeded expectations in every way - they raised the bar for content, and got us the local traction we needed to help recruit and make hires for key positions.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

The obvious focus for any project is a desired result, which Propllr exceeded. What make the experience truly outstanding, though, was the research done, forethought put into strategic initiatives, and the education we received from working with them.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

There was nothing major to dislike about working with Propllr, but sometimes communication can be a challenge, particularly in advance of discussions while they're doing heads-down work. This manifested itself in getting deliverables very shortly before meetings to discuss them, which meant we occasionally needed follow ups to thoroughly review the material.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

Just be clear about projects and priorities, as with any content or PR agency. They're not fully embedded in your organization, so when things change, make sure they know so they can adjust their priorities accordingly.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On the content front, Propllr helped us generate evergreen keystone content that generates links, social traction, and helps guide our tertiary content and improve overall semantic relevancy for Google.

On the PR front, we were looking to hire very quickly following a round of funding, and their help was immediate and essential. They took the lead on generating some local buzz and outlet placements that eased the hiring process and got our key roles filled.

  ### 22. Professional PR & content team with a gift for mastering the changeability of startups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessie A. | VP of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

We originally engaged Propllr to help us announce our Series A funding round, then moved into a full PR program designed to establish awareness and credibility. The exceptional work they did landing and writing a few contributed articles led us to add a content development program as well.

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

I've worked with, and for, various PR and marketing agencies in the past, so I have the unique ability to compare and contrast both from the client side and the agency side. I love that Propllr is focused and strategic—we always know exactly what they're working on and why. They're extremely organized, and that keeps us organized too. They are not complacent—they push us to stay active, to find ways to communicate our message even when we don't have specific announcements or low-hanging PR fruit. I feel like they're really invested in our success. In particular, they have been tremendous at rolling with the inevitable changes that come with working with a company that's just getting started and finding its way. Their perspective having worked with many startups has been invaluable for us. On the content side, they have quickly grasped our business and our goals, and how we are hoping to use content to help reach them. They are frankly good, journalistic writers, which keeps us from sounding too sales-y and ensures we're providing valuable information to our audience that doesn't feel like it's wrapped in a pitch.

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Nothing, really. I have noticed a time or two in which it seems like they're getting pulled in multiple directions taking care of other clients, and so we haven't gotten things as quickly as they might have been originally expected, but it's never been an actual problem and we've never missed a deadline. As someone with an agency background, I understand the adjustments you have to make to get all the work done for all the clients.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a new company, we believed that the third-party credibility of PR would be key for us. We absolutely could not have done it ourselves. With Propllr, I feel confident that PR is in good hands, that we're building our reputation not just among our audience, but also among reporters who hopefully appreciate the professional and customized attention they receive from Propllr on our behalf. On the content side, we've been able to get into a groove of creating consistent content that provides value to our audiences, which has allowed us to start using it not only on our website, but in sales conversations, in our outbound communications to customers and prospects and even internally.

  ### 23. Tech friendly PR and content boutique with no B.S.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lou F. | EVP, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**Describe the project or task Propllr helped with:**

We tasked Propllr to help us in 2 ways 1) creating brand awareness via media relations for our unknown challenger fintech brand and 2) writing and publishing unique content in various forms for our company to boost our credibility and educational offering

**What do you like best about Propllr?**

After working with the entire spectrum of PR pros, from independent contractors to the likes of Edelman and Weber, I can say that Propllr will give you better ROI for your PR $ than firms 10x their size. Some of the reasons: right sized for a growing business like ours. There is no overhead, no B.S. like we got at larger firms, and there's more accountability than we got from solo "domain expert" PR mercenaries we tried. Their fees are low compared to what other PR firms charge for the same scope, sometimes 50% lower than what other firms quoted me for same thing. They have a midwestern work-ethic (yes it still exists). And I would say the learning curve is shorter and faster with Propllr than other PR pros I worked with. Always there is this commitment to help beyond the scope of what we asked for. For instance: nominating our firm for all the awards out there we've never heard of as a perfect value add to what's in the scope. And they do not over promise like I've seen time and time again with firms who got lucky with one client (hot product, right timing) and then turn around and try to promise me same thing. Refreshing...!

**What do you dislike about Propllr?**

Propllr for sure has capacity limitations, depending on the scope of the deliverable you are asking for, and limits to turnaround time, although I've rarely run into this issue. Best approach is if you can plan 30+ days in advance, but that goes for most PR folks I've ever worked with.

**Recommendations to others considering Propllr:**

you cannot spend enough time thinking through exactly what the deliverable is that you want. Is it B2B business development through specific industry events? Is it consumer PR centered around education through key media channels? Or do you want to focus on the content only, to create SEO landing pages or blog articles that showcase your expertise? Don't be afraid to quantify things.

**What problems is Propllr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When you look at the what we published before vs. what we publish today with Propllr, it's a different league all together. What we see is a steady increase in both direct and organic search traffic and conversion from the work we are doing together. Propllr continues to help generate more backlinks and inclusion in key lists in articles around the web, and good content that is aligned with the kinds of customers we are looking for--knowledgeable, thoughtful, enthusiastic. Another hidden benefit is that the quality of the content and the requirements they bake into the work has allowed us to streamline the compliance approval process...actually creating a good problem for us to solve on our side in terms of output.
