Using a DataSource with CRUD enables a rich user interface with strong built-in capabilities. For example, with a grid you get all the essential features (create, update, delete), and then with only a few modifications you can add extra options such as Excel or PDF export, pagination, filtering, and more, without additional development costs. It helps me deliver multiple features in a short period of time. If I had to build the user interface manually, it would take much longer. **What do you dislike about Progress Kendo UI?** The main downside is the error messages and logs. Sometimes, when we implement a feature, an error appears, but the message itself isn’t clear and doesn’t explain what it really means. It also doesn’t point to our own file; instead, it references a file inside the library with thousands of lines. I have always found the presentation is excellent and it is very flexible. I have used it in almost every language that they have the UI available for. It was an excellent product when it came out and it still is. I like the way it looks and the extensibilty. When I have encountered issues i have been able to find answers through their support, which is great. They always respond with detail and try to be helpful. I'd say they've helped me locate the issue 80% of the time. **What do you dislike about Progress Kendo UI?** I don't like the fact that they make you pay for the theme builder separately. It was a useful tool that helped you make the controls your own. Now I spend a lot of time in the developer tools of the browser looking up CSS classes and overriding them so I can make it look the way I want. It's a value add and should be provided if you are a paying user. Also there are a lot of small things that pop up. Projects never fail when using Telerik controls - they will never let you down. **What do you dislike about Progress Kendo UI?** You dont provide enough ammo to convince the business that your controls are any better than Syncfusion (they are of course), so when the Biz says that all 3rd party control vendors are toxic (based on the hell of Syncfusion angular) you don't have any ammo for me to show you you are different - you need a lot more use cases. Also, getting a one-developer lic is doable, but getting a team its ridiculous. This is why we move moved to Vuetify (or https://m3.material.io/components for react) because of the cost of ownership. The total cost of ownership for a Dev Team is excessive. So you need to have a split of the developers that just include the CDN on their web page and those that raise support requests. That is you pay for a support contract. I only use Telerik now for my personal projects, because, 20 developer (anyone could work on any project that may or may not touch a DLL or JS of Telerik). Thats when it gets crazy. **What problems is Progress Kendo UI solving and how is that benefiting you?** WCAG is a BIG issue, UI consistency. Fully documented, and tested(to death) components. In my case its RAD development of a PWA app. The speed of rapid development possible with Telerik controls is phenomenal, but then I have been using Telerik when you only had one component, radGrid and 'Ajax' was the new kid on the block back in 2002. ### 40. Just recently, I had a chance to update our site to those, since there was a major change from the previous years. MANY of our users have had issues with the old styles being cached and the controls not working at all. CTRL+F5 fixes it, BUT we still have to go through that with all of them... The Grid has a broken page size selector, which at least is a known error being worked on, but that caused our users more issues. The Hybrid components going away also caused more issues that I'm still working on. The Kendo React components are well-documented and easy to understand. Depending on the complexity of the components, like, for example, the Scheduler or Data Grid, the documentation grows with the complexity. The APIs are all very structured, there are always a lot of examples, and there are tons of functionalities that can be used to spice up the UI. But the best part is actually the support. If there is anything that, despite the documentation, can't be figured out, there is a support forum and also the possibility to submit a support ticket directly. With both possibilities, we never got abandoned and always got very detailed help to be able to accomplish what we needed to. This is the best support I have experienced so far. **What do you dislike about Progress Kendo UI?** Based on my year-long experience with Progress (Kendo UI is being developed by them), I can't really tell you anything that I dislike about this company or the products they offer.
