While the features offered are modern, the quality of the handheld scanners (from a mobile device) is sometimes not that good compared to using natural scanners. PocketScanner is an easy to use app to scan documents and photographs of things in person- one of my favorite features is the measurement bars while you are capturing a photograph, to ensure that it is a straight and symmetrical image, as if you were scanning the document through a printer! One of the things I disliked about this app is the small bombardment of the need to create an account with the app. It can be bypassed quickly, but for something so small like a scanner app, I wouldn't expect it to feel the need to prompt me to register an account.
