Planview Viz is a value stream management (VSM) software solution that gives engineering and technology leaders real-time visibility into how work flows across the software delivery lifecycle, from idea to release. It applies value stream management principles, adapted from Lean manufacturing, to software delivery, connecting data across teams, tools, and departments into a single, common data model. Viz is designed for engineering and technology organizations working across fragmented toolchains, including VPs of Engineering, CTOs, and software delivery leaders who need to identify where delivery is slowing down and communicate delivery performance in terms business stakeholders can act on. Rather than relying on single-tool metrics, Viz measures the full, end-to-end value stream so leaders can see where work is stuck and why. Main capabilities include: • End-to-end Flow Metrics, including Flow Velocity, Flow Load, Flow Efficiency, Flow Time, and Flow Distribution, generated from a common data model that spans the full toolchain rather than a single tool • DORA Metrics tracked alongside Flow Metrics for a combined view of delivery speed and engineering health • A bottleneck finder that lets users drill down from a portfolio-level view to the specific work items and process steps causing delays • Real-time work-in-process (WIP) visibility, including alerts when WIP is building up, alongside investment ratio visibility that shows how capacity is split across feature work, technical debt, defects, and risk or compliance work • Point-and-click value stream modeling and pre-built connectors for tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, and GitHub Viz connects to existing delivery tools as they are, without requiring changes to workflows, processes, or organizational structure, and presents flow data through real-time, cloud-based dashboards built for both technical and executive audiences.
