Planning center people has been a great way for us to keep contact information as well as internal notes on our people so that we can best know how to carry and serve our congregation. Because of its excellent integration with planning center registrations in Check-Ins etc. sometimes it will create duplicate entries of people however it does have a great system in reviewing duplicates to make sure this does not become a problem. Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People: We have found that especially during a season in which we cannot meet face-to-face in many ways with our people we needed an excellent data management software that could create workflows of care and support for our people. Planning center people has helped us to be able to create workflows to make sure that all of our congregation are being connected with and cared for especially in a COVID-19 season when we are unable to see so many of them week to week. Planning Center People has been incredibly helpful for our company to keep track of visiting persons, members, and other groups that require tracking. One of my favorite things about this platform is that it allows us to create different lists of people that can be exported into other platforms. We have used PCP as a directory of sorts. Within each persons' profile, we are able to create households that allow us to better understand the families and people that are a part of our environment, which in turn helps us to better serve them. We've really enjoyed the forms and workflow tab section of Planning Center People. Having the ability to collect data the way PCP allows us to, has helped us to transition out of outdated platforms that do not allow the flexibility that PCP does. Workflow is probably one of the better parts of Planning Center People; being able to go back to profiles/persons that are at specific stages, and refer to the notes that you are able to attach allows us to handle any open ended tasks with efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Planning Center People? One oversight of PCP seems to be that duplicate profiles are created without hinderance. We've used this platform to check people in, and for some reason, this allows for a creation of duplicate profiles, rather than the selection of existing persons. It is a weekly task to go through and delete or merge duplicate profiles, and perhaps even consolidate updated contact information. Another dislike is that there does not seem to be a batch action option for updating profile details; if we have to update a list's addresses, it seems to be a manual task. Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People: My recommendations for Planning Center People, would be that the team that is planning to use it, take the correct measures to train in each area of Planning Center. Each level of permission can provide or takeaway the efficiency that is so well loved, and it is better that each user actually knows how to use this platform. There are a lot of options and ways to track data, and when you discover there is more, it can get overwhelming. Take time to train before going live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Planning Center People solving and how is that benefiting you? This may not be the most obvious benefit, but Planning Center People's allowance of exporting lists has been helpful in numerous scenarios. While we have used PCP's mass emailing, we have also had to export lists/names to send messages through other lines of communication -- PCP made the process quick and painless to do so. This has solved the problem that often comes with mass communication (time, efficiency, clarity). Another problem that has been solved with Planning Center People, is that when our company needs to collect date, sending the forms that we create has shortened the feedback timeline. I love that thru Planning Center People you can keep track of what each member in your church is doing throughout the church. Like, you can keep track of attendance, forms filled out, communication, etc. It's great for reports and I'm learning all new things about the forms and work flows that makes life so easy as far as volunteers and members of your church! I dislike that on forms on Planning Center People if you make someone a manager on a certain form then they can see alllll the forms. I'd rather it be like Planning Center Registrations where when you make someone a manager of a certain event, they can only see that specific event. We also like that it's easy to use: profiles, lists, and workflows are all extremely helpful and easy to use. It's great for sending mass emails, and the profiles work with the other PCO apps. There are a lot of crosstalk features missing (looking up people in other apps isn't the same as looking up names in People, so duplicate profiles are often made because there is a delusion that the person is not in People). The ability for multiple users to add information. Also being able to add songs which will can be imported from the CCLI database. This allows singers to put the correct version of the song, even customize the songs by putting the correct order of verses, chorus, bridge and other song parts. Users can also add when they are available or not available so he/she is not included in a particular service. You can plan as far ahead as you want. You can create several worship service kinds and templates. You can also directly import this information into many worship presentation softwares like ProPresenter, Faithlife Proclaim. The users are also able to leave notes to each participant of what to do for their part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Planning Center People? They are a growing platform which includes People, Registrations, Check-ins, and others. This can be a bit confusing when wanting to look for directly for a person’s info and the role they play in Planning Center. Wish there was a direct way to go to a specific worship service in the past instead of clicking the “back” arrow until you find it. The headers don’t allow you to add a description or extra information to explain what this part is for (each item does allow for extra descriptions). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Planning Center People: If you find yourself doing last minute bulletins because people are not giving you information in a timely mannner Planning Center can help. PCO helps you not have to go back and forth with endless emails. Instead you have one central location where all people involved have a part to play in the worship planning and can see in advance what is expected and required. Delegating the responsibility to several people instead of expecting one person to wait on everybody else to give them the information. This allows the music director to insert the music ahead of time. No need for the preacher to bring in a flash drive the day of the service. Instead the presentation can uploaded in Planning Center and there for the computer person to download onto the computer.
