What I like the most about PitchBook is the comprehensive reports on market data. The amount of data you can find on companies and the way all the information is categorized makes it really easy to access and use. What do you like best about PitchBook?

The M&A transaction data provided by PitchBook is beyond compare to that which is truly needed by our corporate development team. We have been able to follow individual asset sales and also see the reasons behind complicated carve outs, which aids in us forming better comps. The subsequent search filters also allow us to identify niche technology companies much focused on our strategic diversification criteria very quickly saving us several days of manual market mapping. What do you dislike about PitchBook?

There are times where the fine-grained financial measurements of the private held target, and particularly those below a certain revenue level, are less solid than we would desire and we should look elsewhere to obtain additional information. In addition, the alert system may provide even more customized choices of highly specific types of related M&A events than just broad based deals announcements. What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main complicated issue that we had to solve was finding and analyzing acquisition targets in the most fragmented and new technological markets. Responders, we would depend on industry reports that were scattered and consultants were costly in order to know these landscapes and that resulted in a reactive M&A strategy. Today, we have almost real time, all encompassing, visibility into these ecosystems courtesy of sources like PitchBook, which enables us to identify and deal proactively with companies which would be the right fit in terms of long term growth objectives.
