The ideal solution for process control, tool interlock, traceability, data collection / retention and the integration of other devices such as PLC's, torque positioning arms, etc. Not to mention, the programming is very straight forward. Overall, the support is top notch, and the software is world class. **What do you dislike about PINpoint MES?** Some of the previous versions of had some bugs, but version 5 seems stable thus far. **What problems is PINpoint MES solving and how is that benefiting you?** This software is a solution for interlocking DC tools and recording the data. The workstations can be sequentially interlocked as well, along with the process steps. This software helps to improve quality and the manufacturing process. We have noticed an increase in both. We have also seen a reduction warranty. Another benefit we have noticed is a positive outlook from the operator standpoint with the ease of use of this manufacturing system. I would highly recommend Pinpoint if you want to increase the quality of your product, drive down warranty, defects and improve your manufacturing processes. ### 14. Its features for electric assembly tools and standard PLC integration methods cover the vast majority of integration needs for many discrete assembly operations. The built-in reports are meaningful and provide outstanding genealogy data for use in process improvement activities and process troubleshooting, while the exposed data cubes and data warehouse features allow integration with custom report building tools. If I didn't have to run another Ethernet cable the rest of my life I'd be a happy person. Actually if the smart build application could copy a large group of process steps from line to line would be great. We sometime need to shuffle engine builds from line to line so that means I have three or for recipes for one engine type. **What problems is PINpoint MES solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is keeping our workforce training to a minimum. From user log in to interlocking your DC tooling using PINpoint socket trays (easily associated to any and all tool types, all with one tray), to monitoring and recording every fastening. Production problems are traceable as well using the built-in ANDON system with easily configured buttons, with text messaging to 1st responders, everything is documented and timestamped. No more guessing or exaggerating downtimes within your workstations. PINpoint's easily configurable and puts you in complete control of your process while giving you up to the second data of all operations as they happen on the shop floor. **What do you dislike about PINpoint MES?** As a 1st responder supporting multiple facilities for a large company, my biggest pet peeve is the inconsistencies in the way things are named or referred to from one site to another. While naming is in the user’s control and not really a PINpoint issue, the thing that would benefit a large company rolling out PINpoint across multiple facilities would be to develop a "Standardized Naming Convention" for process steps, fastening steps, tooling, tooling types, production lines, work stations, data managers, and devices before starting. Standardize EVERYTHING!! This way the support team from one site can actually help support multiple sites without ever actually being there in person because they know by a tool or device's name... what it actually is without ever laying eyes on it. **What problems is PINpoint MES solving and how is that benefiting you?** With facilities like ours, we have a high mix of products but relatively low volume for many of our production lines. Because of the high mix, it may take an operator years before they see every model that may pass through their workstation. PINpoint solves this problem by interlocking our Digitally Monitored Torque Tools (DMTT's) along with the socket trays, or wrench end adapters used with them so that operators on 1 st, 2nd, and 3rd shift all build the same product the same way, always using the proper tool, with the proper socket/adapter, at the proper time. Additionally, if your workstations happen to have GCI Smart Arms for high torque joints, PINpoint interlocks those fastening processes as well by communicating with GCI's Adaptic's software, locking the process one step further! ### 43.
