You cannot delete old contacts or contacts if they need to be updated, which leads to a surplus of contacts with different information.

  ### 4. Perfect Law as a document management system

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Easy to categorize and then later retrieve documents. Which is key for us when dealing with voluminous litigation.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

The software seems a bit archaic from an aesthetic standpoint.

Document management

  ### 5. IP Paralegal using PerfectLaw as primary office software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joanna J. W. | Paralegal, Legal Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2018

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Loved that I could see the entire history of a case in chronological order, from emails to inventors and the timing of an Office Action coming in from the USPTO. Really helped give me a sense of timing for upcoming filing needs and helped keep me organized.
- Docketing system is easy to use, although I say that as someone who did not have system privileges to make new docket entries.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

System overall is not highly intuitive, though once you learn the system very user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

Really need to have a solid IT department at your firm so that you can customize on the fly without calling customer service. That definitely helped us get the most out of the software.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kept consistency with client care even when a new assistant was working on the matter because all client notes, correspondence, etc. are easily available in one place.

  ### 6. Easiest timekeeping software I have ever used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2018

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

I like the ease of use, the timer function and how easy it is to pull reports.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

I wish it were a little easier to add new clients and matters.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

Perfectlaw is by far the easiest billing, timekeeping and case management software I have ever used. If you aren't using it in your law practice your should switch.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems solved with PerfectLaw are timekeeping, billing, reporting and client set-up.

  ### 7. 20 year lawyer new to Perfectlaw

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2017

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

It's a very intuitive cloud based product. I find it easy to access and the manner in which it is integrated with my Mac system is seamless.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

I would like an easier way to associate e-mails.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

It's recommended that you have a good internet connection.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for our entire case managment.

  ### 8. PerfectLaw perfect for practices stuck in the 90s

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2017

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Consolidated backend
Document management ok

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

Technology has passed this product behind. It would be a better product if re-written under today's technology stack.
Interface to Microsoft Office products is lacking even though they are a Microsoft partner. Features that we had under our old system that was from 2007 had more compatibility with Office than PerfectLaw has today.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

I would recommend exploring other options. The software would probably be ok if totally re-written for today's technology stack but that option is too expensive for the company and they need to support their legacy customers. Long term prospects for this company do not look good.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document management
Legal billing

  ### 9. OKAY Client Management Software, Learning Curve is High

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2017

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Once you learn the management system it is not too terrible, however, a lot of basic features make it difficult to make this system a seamless part of tracking time and managing client documents.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

It cannot be fully integrated into system. ProLaw allows for scanning barcodes and direct document housing whereas there are numerous user steps necessary for document intake and storage. you have to independently scan the document, drag it into AIM, and then categorize it. It would be far more efficient and cost saving if there were scanable bar codes to automatically house the document. Additionally, document folders are not intuitive. Moreover not all documents are searchable on the system via keywords or otherwise.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

If you spend sometime learning the system and trying to utilize its many customization features then perfect law is not so bad. the problem is the default settings obfuscate easy use.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legal issues. This is good as a cut-rate system of managing documents for a particular matter and client. it is by far not the most advanced/use friendly version of client management software out there

  ### 10. Senior Paralegal, 25+ years

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2017

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Ease of billing to case file and generating reports.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

Not compatible with Adobe pdf (Inability to bates label, mark exhibits, combine docs easily)
Inability to hold content of documents
Inability to sort docs numerically (1 followed by 10; adding a zero in front of one doesn't help)
Saving docs to PL -- must go out of that file and come back in for doc to show up!
Email address field is too short to accommodate Judge email.
Electronic Court Filing docs must save to desktop then save to PL (not compatible with Adobe)
Customer Support guaranteed for one month; representative went on "vacation" two weeks in, haven't heard from her since. Found out she was actually loading this system to another client.
During the "Import" phase documents disappeared PL offered no explanation as to where they went or where to find them.
Contact fields obsolete, i.e. beeper.
During training PL rep could not get the merge function to work. Never heard back on that either.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

Choose Time Matters or any other product.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. Takes twice as long to complete tasks.

  ### 11. Great case management software

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2016

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

What I appreciate most about Perfectlaw is that it is an all-in-one interface. You can do billing, time sheets, look at documents, and deal with everything on a single page. In the past, we had to use a bunch of different softwares to accomplish what one does. I also like that you don't have to install additional softwares. With Microsoft office products, you're set.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

Sometimes the interface gets cluttered. It is not always completely intuitive. It did take a lot of training for me to get comfortable and move from our old system.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

It is expensive, but it is an all-in-one platform so maybe you save money eventually.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to have an integrative case management system is great.

  ### 12. PerfectLaw is functional, but the interface isn't as user friendly as ProLaw

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanya F. | Director of Executive Project Development, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2015

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

I like the functionality for case management and document access to remote users, along with the built in timekeeping and billing features.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

I've used a competitor's software, ProLaw, for more years and prefer their interface over PerfectLaw. The search and queries sections for displaying results and locating files, and the way the modules and windows are set up makes more sense to me.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

PerfectLaw is a great solution for any firm looking to go paperless and integrate their timekeeping and billing into one system that links with the files being worked. However, look at similar products to decide if you like how the system works to make sure there isn't something else out there that you might be able to customize better to your needs. I personally prefer the docket workflow system in ProLaw better and found their capability to allow for custom queries and reporting opened the doors to many internal innovations at my most recent law firm. My prior firm is still using PerfectLaw and I keep in touch with my former colleagues there. It works for their needs, however, they have been using the same workflow for years with very little change or innovation.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In foreclosure and bankruptcy law, having an all in one case management software is essential because the legal clerks have to manage massive case loads with hundreds of clients/files. A fully electronic system for tracking the status of each case is critical for success.

  ### 13. Perfect Law is exactly what the name says - the"Perfect" solution for managing a law practice/firm.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank A. M. | Legal Administrator, Legal Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2015

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Perfect Law supports all aspects of a law firm, from document and client management to complete and accurate financial management. The support provided by the Perfect Law staff has been Outstanding. They are attuned to the requirements and obligations of a law firm and provide timely support when unanticipated issues arise.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

I would like to see Perfect Law host a users group either in person or electronic so that users could share experiences.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

Review what information and reports you currently use, determine if there is any information or reports you would like to have (your wish list) and convey this information to the Perfect Law implementation team. Be sure the data and documents you are converting are as 'clean' as possible. Do not try to get by on the minimum technology required.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before converting to Perfect Law, the Firm had a difficult time controlling documents and performing workload analysis and basic financial analysis to determine realization by various categories. Perfect Law provides the tools and reports to perform these functions in an easy manner, allowing the time to perform/complete other management responsibilities.

  ### 14. Good but could be better.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura F. | Accounts Payable, Legal Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2015

**What do you like best about PerfectLaw?**

Most of the applications are very computer illiteracy friendly. The layout design is easy to maneuver as well.

**What do you dislike about PerfectLaw?**

The searches and reports are not very computer illiteracy friendly. You have to know formulas which most people are not comfortable with. Also, you can not run statements for a desired period of time.

**Recommendations to others considering PerfectLaw:**

Do your research on all Timekeeper/Billing software.
I found AIM PerfectLaw to be one of the best timekeeping/billing software out there.

**What problems is PerfectLaw solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm utilizing the accounting software to bill clients and pay vendor invoices. Adding vendor invoices (PDF's) to the contacts so all of their invoices are easy to find.
