## Parsec Reviews
  ### 1. Fast, Intuitive Remote Access with a Lag-Free Connection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valeria S. | Executive Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Amazing alternative to TeamViewer! We use it at work so we can remotely log in to our work computers from home. It’s fast and provides a smooth, responsive connection with no lag.

The UI of the app is very intuitive. It's easy to integrate your entire office's computers, in case users need to switch between multiple workstations.

Pricing is amazing - we use the free version and is has everything we need and more.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Nothing to dislike about it! So far we haven't ran into any issues. Occasionally, the app might need to be restarted on the device, which requires someone to be physically near the device to do it. But it happens rarely.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the problem of being able to log into our work computers from anywhere.

  ### 2. Great for Remote Access But Connectivity Issues Linger

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nada F. | Technical VFX Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

I like that Parsec has resolution change options.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Parsec has to work on a wired internet connection, which is a problem because 4G doesn't work. Our IT had to come up with a huge workaround for this, and it's costing the company money. Also, it requires more than 15mb of speed to function properly, which can be hard to get in a developing country like Egypt.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parsec lets me remote access my workstation from home, solving the problem of working remotely.

  ### 3. Completely Unusable on Newer Computer Hardware Setup and Extremely Poor Technical Support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

When Parsec decides which days you're allowed to connect for more than 20 minutes its a tool you can use to remote into a work PC.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Parsec freezes so often its unusable on certain days. Parsec hard freezing/crashing is an inevitability but some days its tolerable as you can sometimes work 30 minutes to an hour without a crash but on other days, it crashes every 10 seconds. I've had to push back deliverables because Parsec wouldn't allow me to simply connect to the computer I needed to use to work on them; sometimes I could only work half-days because it was completely unusable.

What's even worse is their technical support is more unresponsive than Parsec itself. They have recommended rolling back driver updates as old as six months as they are 'still finding a fix' and its only taking them this long because they are short on resources or manpower or whatever excuse they have since they are being intentionally vague on what solution they are even trying to reach and how far along they are in reaching it. When they aren't making up excuses they are dragging their feet in responding back. They might suggest a fix, you'll implement it and tell them it didn't work and they'll just forget until you send them a follow up a week later and then they might respond back, its 50/50 for me. It seems they really hope that you quit bothering them. I mean I get it, its not like I need to access the desktop to do my job.

TLDR: Parsec has not only been unusable but their technical support has been both unhelpful and unresponsive.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They've helped answer the question of whether its better to use remote desktop vs having your work computer shipped out to you and its clearly the latter.

  ### 4. One of the best applications for screen sharing or remote desktop I use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Motion Pictures and Film | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Video latency and input lag as well as controller support are better than most other solutions I have explored.
Extra options such as tablet and multi monitor support have been great for my end users.
Extremely easy to implement under most common scenarios.
Support team is very responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

As I work in high security environments sometimes, not being able to be used with no internet has been detrimental for certain workflows, however the enterprise solutions offered are good enough for most use cases.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parsec allows me and my end users to work remotely as needed.
The low video latency also allows multiple end users to collaborate or troubleshoot more effectively.

  ### 5. Immersive Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alistair W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

We recommend Parsec to our customers. In most cases, Parsec provides a point and happen immersive editing experience. Real benefit in being able to test drive before committing to a wider solution.
Parsec allows our customers to switch seamlessly from on-prem edit to remote edit in high res with no need to move content.
Parsec Teams has provided the user-based access and security needed for our customers.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Parsec is reliant on existing GPU based workstations and laptops which have to be checked as being compliant. Some systems won't be usable.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parsec allows our customers to switch seamlessly from on-prem video edit to remote edit in high res with no need to move content. This provides efficiencies in post-production and other related workflows.

  ### 6. Best Kept Secret - If you don't know, now you know!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roy H. | Post Production Technology Supervisor, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

A little background, we were 50 plus headcount, a Mac-based editing studio within a LARGE company that just got hit restrictions with COVID in March 2020. We had to go home but take our computers with us. It was my job to govern secure policies and make sure pre-release content was secure on their studio-owned computers. I needed a tool QUICK. Talking to other studios, they were skirting company policy, using Jump Desktop, VNC, and whatever they could to comply with business demands. I refused this breach of protocol. We would have all editors audited as contractors and sneakernet via drives until we found an approved tool, we did get Teradici, but this was not fast enough to edit properly with.

I spoke to Parsec, who at the time was just in the PC gaming arena but pivoting quickly, given the environment. I spoke to our VP and Legal reams to get temporary approval for their Mac test clients, and we had success on our hands with minor setbacks. It all worked out in the end, with a happy subscription. The team there is quick to address questions, concerns, and feedback, even after the Unity acquisition.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Not so much of a dislike, but here are some issues we ran into and were addressed.

I will say this is mainly due to my use-case scenario and our being a part of a large company that had some huddles to do with legal and some personnel in security trying to poke holes in everything, saying this is a "brokered connections," who thought this was a non-starter and tried to shut it down, the truth is it's more secure than that of some non-brokered, for instance, there is an audit trail.

There was an issue nicknamed the "Mega Mouse"; due to scaling in earlier versions, Parsec couldn't get the mouse to directly pinpoint the mouse. This was an issue, for instance, when selecting the color gradient; as a workaround, they made the mouse maybe 4 times its normal size when connected, and this made the exact point accurate. It was a workaround that was eventually fixed. This also shows you that if you communicate an issue, they will respond and get you something! Kudos to the team!

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to securely remote onto Edit Bay computers and connect to SAN and NAS storage with next to no delay. This also lends itself to a work from home and hybrid model for the entertainment industry.

  ### 7. Parsec is reliable and fast

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregory L. | Visual Effects Supervisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

There are plenty of configuration settings which allow you to tune the speed/quality to suit your current circumstances.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

There are cheaper options out there, but I'm not sure giving up on Parsec's ease of use make the cost savings worthwhile.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team connectivity has been made easier and more secure

  ### 8. Empowering Remote 3D Production with Seamless Workstation Access

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Parsec's commitment to delivering a high-quality remote experience extends beyond just access — it encompasses the overall performance of our virtual workstations. The platform's efficiency has allowed our artists to create stunning visuals and animations without compromise.

Parsec has undoubtedly elevated our creative process, making it a must-have for any team looking to push the boundaries of visualization in a distributed work landscape.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

The administrative features, such as mixed user and group assignment, could be enhanced to provide more tailored management options. Additionally, full audio and video passthrough features would also be welcomed. Furthermore, exploring more flexible licensing options, such as concurrent licensing, would be beneficial for adapting to varying team sizes and project demands. These considerations aside, Parsec remains an invaluable asset for our creative workflow.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

High quality, low latency remote desktop.

  ### 9. It works, even with the most demanding digital pen users.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Once it is setup, it just works. It's safe. It's stable.

Our studio is heavily focused on 2D classic hand-drawn animation. We integrate classic workflows with modern tools. Digital pen experience (wacom) is critical to use. Many of our users are super sensitive to latencies below 10ms.

Parsec makes it possible for us to give our artists a safe and local-like experience.

Totally recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

The cost for a small-medium studio can be challenging when you go to the enterprise level. Other vendors offer better conditions for smaller studios.

That being said, not all medium-small studios need enterprise features and may be happy with lower plans...

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content creation, remote work for artists.

  ### 10. The absolute best remote desktop ive ever seen

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

the best no latency desktop ive seen, completely easy to set up, able to share 2 screens at the same time, share your software with someone to use at the same time and it lets someone you trust use remotely your desktop. its free version with only one screen works marveliously.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

the enterprise cost is high if you want to set up a network of a few computers and you are a small company with not too many resources, it also could be better remembering your screen settings for monitor location

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being able to remotely work from home has become so much easier since i use parsec and doesnt have to use other softwares which are slow, have latency and have horrible screentearing and worst resolution

  ### 11. Latency Issues Solved

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nich D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

The latency is fantastic. Best example is an artist kept getting feedback on a shot he was tracking; as soon as he started using Parsec, he was finally able to see what they were complaining about.

The support from Parsec has been amazing when troubleshooting. They are willing to be in a video call, spend time understanding your configuration, and then helping you troubleshoot. All environments are different, and they are willing to spend the time to make Parsec work best based on your circumstances

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Remembering your preferences for monitor count, monitor location and and resolution.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

Support is fantastic, and it's easy to administer. Once the end-users get their settings dialed down, their experience is phenomenal.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure remote access for Work From Home

  ### 12. Best Remote Desktop Software ever!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco Javier A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

The free version works perfectly, with zero latency, you can use 2 screen at once(pay version) , full HD, very very easy to setup and use at home or workplace.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Enterprise version is expensive for small business.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accesing to remote desktop in different computers in the company or even in my own home.

  ### 13. One of the lowest latency remote desktop solution around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elliott K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Super low latency, it's almost like you are physically at the computer.
Wacom tablet support.
Dual Screen support.
Great multi-team management console.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Will not work if the client's machine is using an ISP that uses a CG-NAT. Some ISPs will take you off a CG-NAT if you call up and ask. Some pretend they don't use one and the only thing to do is change ISP's.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving to 100% remote working during the pandemic lockdowns. Our video editors were able to work off the machines in the office so they can access the local network file servers.

  ### 14. I don't use the program but our CAD designers like it for its' speed designing in 3D.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark A. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Connects easily to a computer that has been set up and verified. No dual authentication is needed once it is set up correctly.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

It can be difficult to get everything set up for the first time. A computer must be joined to a team with a long key and then verified. Also using the virtual display driver is a nice feature but needs additional work to install. Parsec support did work with me to create an deployment package for the certificate needed.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With more designers working from home it has created an almost identical experience to working in the office. A designer is given a thin client to access their work computer so everything works with the same speed as being in the office.

  ### 15. Very easy to use cross platform. They provide updates and support has been responsive.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig C. | Digital Infrastructure Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

No need for VPN setup and the users I support have had an easier time using Parsec over VPN and RDP. It works well with applications like CAD and Revit.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

There are still some bugs I'm experiencing on MAC OS, but they do not prevent me from using it effectively and support is following the issue closely. RPi 4 / dual monitor support would be amazing.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote access from multiple devices.

  ### 16. Parsec not just for gamers but for one and all

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanmay G. | Faculty, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Never seen a better remote desktop application with a focus on co-op gaming. No latency with Parsec, their technology to stabilised FPS is amazing and can be seamlessly connect many devices. Absolute genuis.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Parsec can give freedom for the host to set a watermark so that all connected users can be better informed, all the more it will give streamers a better way to attract their audience.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

Great software

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote working with Parsec is the main benefit, which has come up strongly since the pandemic. It gives a nice collaborative environment with having a Remote server located in the office while working from any place of choice.

  ### 17. Remote Connectivity for M&E

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian C. | Head of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

If I'm answering from an IT Admin perspective, it starts with the ease of installation and administration. But when you really get down to where the rubber meets the road, it just works!! And it works reliably and consistently day in and day out.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

I would like to see better reporting capabilities. You can never have enough information.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most obviously, we are using Parsec to allow our remote workers and contractors the ability to log in and fully utilize graphic workstations that have been built to our specifications and have the horsepower to complete complex Animation tasks. Parsec allows Mindshow access to Graphics and Animation talent that is not normally available to us due to geographical limitations.

  ### 18. National Visualization Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex C. | National Visualization Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Parsec gives our team the ability to colaborate effortlessly. The smooth remote desktop is the best part of Parsec.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Parsec could improve the administration side of the software. It can be a little daunting having to manage many computers and users.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

Parsec will completely change the way you think you can work remotely. Collaboration becomes effortless when working with large data, as if you were all sitting in the same office.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse is solving our team's problem with being located all across the nation. Being able to locate all the computers in one location solves this issue.

  ### 19. Amazingly performant, incredibly safe

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | D, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

For me, the best feature in Parsec --that differentiates it from the competition-- is the fact that you don't need to leave a door open in your firewall to receive incoming connections, you just need to have an outbound connection to a Parsec server. That makes Parsec incredibly safe, and a deciding factor for our company to go with Parsec.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

It's not a problem with Parsec per se, but it relies on UPnP for port-forwarding, and AWS' NAT Gateway does not support it, unfortunately. So if you intend to keep your host in a private subnet, you need to maintain a NAT instance. Or you could place your host in a public subnet, with all inbound ports closed in the security group.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Parsec's performance and security features, we are able to house our artist's workstations in the cloud, rather than on-prem, with latency under 25ms.

  ### 20. Why was Parsec not introduced to me first

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanmay G. | Assistant Professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

I am just loving Parsec for its remote capabilities. No other cloud connect software could give me the desired fps and resources as Parsec has. Truly exceptional experience while working with Parsec on my remote server.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

The latest version of parsec has already removed the difficulties previously faced such as minor bug in co-op module while trying to connect from different networks. Awesome product overall.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

Happy gaming

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parsec is inventive and constantly upgrading itself to provide the best user control and experience. The remote desktop program of Microsoft now appears faded in front of Parsec.

  ### 21. The Game Changer - we didn't know we needed until a global pandemic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe S. | Managing Director and Tech Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

As a developer, I have been impressed with the technology stack that Parsec has used. Special mention of using Bcrypt for storing passwords, ease of turning on MFA, and default strong encryption. Having a solid tech stack gives me high confidence in the security, stability, and performance of Parsec software.

As a user, Parsec is simple and easy to use and is realistically the only way for creatives to work remotely.
There is simply nothing quite like Parsec. It is a game-changer.

Keep up the great work, Parsec, and I am looking forward to seeing your product grow!

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

There is little that I can complain about, maybe the price, maybe some lacking features such as copying files but honestly Parsec has little to dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

Try it; you won't find anything else as good!

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Remote Workstation access
- Remote workstation hire
- Remote support.
- Online editing where an editor and a director can view the screen at the same time.

  ### 22. Parsec a tool to rescue during COVID

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

Pandemic was difficult for everyone, especially in remote working office situations. Often solutions for working remotely are found quite laggy, however, parsec has given the perfect solution during the trying time.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

More connectivity options in terms of network connectivity would have been great, sometimes faced troubling situations during powerouts and had to move to higher latency network.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

Very good

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Almost all other solutions for remote working are not efficient as parsec, with a clear focus on gaming community, Parsec is helping a lot of people around the globe.

  ### 23. Parsec Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2022

They provide Low latency desktop streaming and it's crucial for our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

We had a few network challenges related to Parsec, but now are all sorted out.

**Recommendations to others considering Parsec:**

I'd recommend this for any business that utilizes remote computer access.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote workers accessing local work machines at our production house.

  ### 24. One of the best app for remote pc stream with minimal input lag

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

This application is a server-client app that allows multiple users to share remote resources on a machine and, thanks to this feature, is used for a lot of types of works, either can be for an office use of multiple members on one machine or the other use is for online gaming tournaments. It will enable you to use your local resources and map them to a remote host and play/stream or share remotely but together like if you are locally there. It has an option to save your account and add known machines or users. Also allows you to control which application is allowed to be reached by the remote users so you can control who and which privilege has the users that access your machine.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

More than a downside for this app, it will be more a feedback for a future release; the app allows you to find random hosts around the network, this is the "arcade mode," but you are not able to use any filter option to try and see what you like. Now maybe this feature is still limited because there are not too many users yet and so the possibilities are just a few of them available. Still, it would be great to add the filter option soon because this arcade mode is shown as a beta on the application interface.

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to parsec and over the global pandemic, this software allowed multiple users to test and verify alternative options to meet and test together on the same machine features or also to play remotely together. Also it has a payed option to allow improved image quality and tablet support for either drawing artist helping remotely together.

  ### 25. Probably the best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Parsec?**

I like everything about it, it is simple, hassle free and fast! You can login from any pc and take control of any pc which is logged in with your account, it is also fast compared to its competitors.

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

Probably nothing but it lacks some features for ios and mac , mac cannot be a host from parsec and parsec web cannot be acceses from safari, improvements for mac will be greatly appreciated

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have many pc's to be handles so parsed provides a one stop solution to control any pc from anywhere, it is easy to use not complex and increases productivity

  ### 26. Great solution for remote access

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2022

Parsec allows us to continue our studies during Covid where we let user test video games remotely with low latency

**What do you dislike about Parsec?**

not much or that i can currently think of

**What problems is Parsec solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inability to perform onsite studies. one of the benefits is that we can now have a bigger area where people can sign up for studies than ever before
