## Parallels Reviews
  ### 1. Using Parallels to have Windows on Mac

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal H. | Rise Happiness Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

Because I need to troubleshoot Windows compatible software, Parellels helps me to work efficiently from my MacBook.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

I like that once installed, I can choose the amount of power dedicated to my Parallels desktop. I can also disable file sharing between the two environments. The Windows environment runs smoothly. And I can have more than 1 Windows environment.

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

Sometimes getting Parallels and Windows installed is cumbersome.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of having the right environments for software troubleshooting. I've realized the benefits of having multiple desktops on my one computer, reducing the hardware assets needed to do my job.

  ### 2. Parallels - a great way to run other operating systems if you don't need to manage a VMWare Server

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff D. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

Parallels is great for running alternative operating systems on the Mac.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

Parallels has great integration into the Mac operating system. Great for Mac users.

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

VMWare Fusion allows me to directly manage a VMWare ESXi Server from the program and also has direct transfer of VMS between systems. Parallels require VM Conversion to go to VMWare products.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels:**

If you need VMWare server integration use Fusion - if you don't Parallels is easier to use and integrates great with the Mac OS.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I need to run an alternative OS like Linux or Windows Parallels is the easiest way on my Mac.

  ### 3. Parallels brings the best of windows to my mac.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will G. | Sr. Client Services Leader - Solutions | Implementation | Onboarding | Training, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2021

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

I use Parallels to run the full Windows application of apps that don't have a Mac app, or don't have a full-featured Mac app.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

I love Coherence Mode. Being able to strip away/hide the Windows interface (mainly the Desktop) and use the Windows app just like any other app on my mack is critical.

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

As you load more and more onto the VM, it can take longer to boot up. This is due more to windows than Parallels.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parallels makes it seamless for myself and my clients to run native Windows apps without ruining the simplicity of their Mac experience. I work with a lot of creatives who have never used windows or hate it. Parallels makes it possible to "sell' them on it.

  ### 4. Parallels makes my Mac better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew H. | Education Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2021

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

Parallels runs a virtual Windows PC on my Mac.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

My favorite part about Parallels is convergence mode. I can run Windows-specific software without leaving iOS or having to reboot.

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

The biggest downfall is storage space. If you have a small hard drive, you may need to consider other options. I have used an external hard drive. It can be done, but there was considerable lag for me. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can run Windows software while still using my preferred iOS operating system.

  ### 5. wow such an awesome tool for mac users that need to do some work in a PC environment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex P. | marketing director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2021

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

I recently switched from PC to Mac at work because every laptop I was using was junk after a while. Although around 95%+ of my work can be enjoyably conducted on a mac, there are a few tools I utilize for lead generation purposes that were built for PC. Parallels creates a dual environment where I can quickly, seamlessly toggle between mac and pc and run the pc lead gen program I need to use.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

switching environments is effortless with almost zero lag. it's been very stable.

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

i think because i dont use it for much more than running a lead generation platform, I haven't run into any issues so I cannot comment on dislikes at this time. i think there's probably room for improvement when it comes to speed but that's nitpicking really,.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i use a certain lead gen program that is only available for pc. also I sometimes use Grammarly for word since its not avail for word for mac.

  ### 6. Making remote access to applications a breeze

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro P. | Technical Leader, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

I wanted to provide access to an internal application to outside contractors without full access to the VPN, and parallels was perfect for this task. Extremely easy to set up and working flawlessly out of the box. Out existing IT infrastructure provider managed to integrate it with their processes quite successfully, and after that project, we continued to use it.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

Device management, RAS, integration with ChromeOS

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

Not much, really, probably a minor ramp up effort needed for getting to know the platform and installation

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels:**

Make sure you have all networks and application mapping laid out in order to successfully structure the remote accesses.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Computer Virtualization, Device Management, Remote Application Access

  ### 7. Parallels is good

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon H. | System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

We have multiple applications that we run through parallels, It helps being able to attach these applications and then assigned a group to these applications and place users into these groups in order to use these applications. Its very nice not having to give everyone access to all apps and keeps it nice and collected in one section.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

Able to issue users to groups and gives them access to the particular applications where these groups are published in.

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

For us we have multiple servers that we end up needing to switch every now and then for the application to work.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels:**

Highly recommend using this product if you have multiple applications that need to be installed on a users workstation. Will help decrease man hours on installing applications when this one will work with no issues.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This lets us install one application on a user's computer instead of multiple applications. Saves us a lot more time on who needs what application and once this is installed give them the right groups and they get everything they need in one spot.

  ### 8. Joyful terror for the Young .NET Developer

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio D. | Lead Product Engineer, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2019

**Describe the project or task Parallels helped with:**

We resorted to using Parallels for .NET Development on the MacBook Pro's that we had in laying around in our vault. They had somewhat smaller hard drives so the idea of Bootcamp scared most of the guys and we opted for using Parallels. I would not encourage the usage of Parallels as permissions when working with IIS and .NET 4.5 development can get tricky and without experienced .NET developers around who have strong understandings of the Windows systems themselves this can get pretty messy over time especially if you accidentally tweak or work on project files with the wrong apps.

**What do you like best about Parallels?**

Easy to install, the fact that I can open Windows apps in MacOS without switching to Windows was pretty cool and awesome!

**What do you dislike about Parallels?**

The way my project solutions tended to break and the pricing, Bootcamp is free so sacrificing access to MacOS to run Windows seems fair enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels:**

Great for running Windows with MacOS on a MacBook. Windows license not included last we used it. Just a side not on that matter.
Also keep in mind that you could potentially run into different types of issues regarding permissions with Windows files if you're not careful and do not use Finder to access your Windows storage disk and edit those things from there. Windows might just throw a fit and bail on you in this regard.

**What problems is Parallels solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating the ability for our MacBook Pro machines to be used for .NET 4.5 Development with Sitefinity. I also realized that this does provide you with the ability to run your Windows applications that are not on MacOS, as if they are Mac apps easily and effectively! This was a neat future to discover.
