  ### 27. A very good career with the main purpose to give value to the customers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rui S. | OutSystems Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

For me, the primary advantage of the platform is its rapid development speed. Additionally, I find it remarkable how easy it is to learn, even for those who do not come from a tech background.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The first thing that comes to mind is how difficult it is to understand the licensing, and I also feel that Outsystems is not suitable for small businesses. I know several small businesses that could really benefit from some simple solutions, but I don't think Outsystems is a viable option for them due to the high cost of the license.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have worked as a consultant with the platform for over nine years, during which I have solved a wide range of problems across different sectors, including banking and healthcare. For example, I contributed to an app used by more than 500,000 users to book appointments and monitor their health. I don't use the platform for my personal benefit, aside from it being my profession; my focus is on delivering value to customers, helping them address their challenges, and making their lives easier. That is my main goal.

  ### 28. My 3 year experience with Outsystems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sónia R. | Software Engineer , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems makes it really easy to build applications quickly without needing to code everything from scratch. The drag-and-drop interface is simple to use but still powerful enough for complex apps. I also like how easy it is to connect with other systems and reuse components, which saves a lot of time. The community and documentation are also very helpful whenever I get stuck.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

Sometimes the platform feels heavy, especially with bigger projects, and build times can be a bit slow. Some things still require traditional coding, which can be tricky if you’re just starting. The licensing cost can also be high, which makes it harder for smaller companies. And because everything runs inside the platform, you end up being a bit “locked in” to OutSystems.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems helps speed up the whole development process, which means I can deliver applications much faster than with traditional coding. It makes teamwork easier too, since both technical and less technical people can understand what’s being built. The platform also helps reduce repetitive tasks with reusable modules, so I can focus more on solving business problems instead of redoing the same code. Overall, it’s helped me deliver projects on time and keep applications easier to maintain

  ### 29. Great, fun but a bit too sales pitchy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno C. | Senior Digital Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Overall, you can truly sense the difference between collaborating in high-code, medium-to-large teams and working within smaller, agile OS teams. OS significantly speeds up the process from ideation to development and then to production, which has made a tremendous impact. As a product design strategist, this environment has greatly helped me transform ideas into real outcomes alongside the respective teams.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I would like there to be more focus on specific Workflows and having premade solutions but workflow wise as well as the respective UI elements. I would also like there to be more available patterns with a bigger focus on responsivity and modernizing look and feel to keep up with other competitor systems. A great source or reference from a leader is Material UI and their increasing will to meet with a global user and client base.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool establishes a clear foundational language across business, design, and development. When all teams are in sync and balanced, it becomes much easier to address challenges, even the more complex ones.

  ### 30. Life Changing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joao C. | Outsystems Tech Lead , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Back in the summer of 2018, I was feeling a bit lost and decided to take a risk by learning OutSystems. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

What immediately stood out to me was how easy it was to get started. Instead of drowning in endless lines of code, OutSystems focuses on modelling and architecture, which allowed me to quickly build real applications and see results. The platform is innovative, intuitive, and there’s a strong demand for professionals with this skillset, which opened up many career opportunities for me.

Beyond the technology, the OutSystems community has been wonderful—full of helpful people, shared knowledge, and even some very cool swag along the way.

OutSystems didn’t just give me a tool; it gave me direction and a career I’m proud of. It truly changed my life for the better.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

The pricing is probably the worst about OutSystems but I believe this is something they've been working on and some changes ate coming

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid application development is a big demand from market which benefits those willing to learn and solve the problems.

  ### 31. A no-brainer for a full-stack Enterprise solution, with an outstanding potential for the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems truly simplifies the software development process. Of course, to deliver a high-quality product, you still need a solid understanding of the platform. That said, nothing compares to the speed at which you can develop APIs, design attractive screens using advanced frameworks, and set up a comprehensive data model in just a few hours. Publishing an app without the usual compilation error headaches is a huge plus, and, most importantly, the ability to ship to production quickly and frequently really sets OutSystems apart. While other technologies certainly have their strengths, OutSystems stands out for being faster, more accessible, and genuinely enjoyable to use. Leaders who prioritize rapid value delivery consistently find OutSystems at the top of their list when choosing a platform for their next major project.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

As someone who previously used O11 and now develops on ODC, I appreciate the advantages of moving to a cloud-native platform, but there are also some drawbacks compared to what we had before. For instance, the SSO implementation is convenient in that setting up an identity provider takes only a few minutes. However, we can't reuse the authorization token when integrating with Entra, which means we have to invest more development time and effort. It would be much simpler if we could just use the JWT token from Entra directly. Another area that could be improved is logging. Unlike O11, ODC doesn't provide API logs out of the box, so we have to build the entire logging solution ourselves. It would be much better if enabling this was as simple as toggling a setting in the ODC Portal. Lastly, the lack of access to the database in higher environments, and the inability to debug it, presents a significant challenge. We're now forced to create our own APIs and screens to work around this, which feels unfair since these consume AOs that wouldn't otherwise be used.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developers do not need extensive experience with high-code to use this. It is straightforward to learn, and the rapid deployment makes it possible to deliver sprints successfully.

  ### 32. Great accelerator with some frustrations in the mix

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I really appreciate how this tool assists both developers and non-technical users in building apps more quickly and easily. Its ability to predict and handle more complex actions with just a few clicks, or by simply dragging and dropping entities, is impressive. I also value the wide range of available connections, which makes it possible to integrate with various systems and code seamlessly. At the moment, I'm using ODC, and I find that the authentication process with Entra, as well as deployment, collaboration, and the overall management and visibility of the app and system, are all much more straightforward.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

At times, we struggle to maintain control over certain components, such as the searchable dropdown. For example, it appears impossible to add a tooltip to each item by default, and some events like onBlur are not supported. Additionally, although we have established a connection to Entra, we are unable to retrieve the token directly, which forced us to implement a rather complicated workaround to obtain it. Another challenge is accessing database records in different environments; this typically requires setting up a complex connection or using up AOs by creating an API or a dedicated screen. Lastly, I wish the overall performance was better, even when the code is highly optimized. Coming from a React and C# background, I was accustomed to faster load times and not having to reload a table twice simply because of features like ellipsis in large text fields.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We could create an MVP for an internal sytem that will replace a legacy one in just 3 months.

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems has proven to be a game-changer for our development workflow, dramatically accelerating and simplifying DevOps processes across the board. Its intuitive low-code platform streamlines deployment pipelines, reduces manual overhead, and enables seamless integration with existing tools, allowing our team to focus more on delivering value than wrestling with infrastructure. What’s truly remarkable is how OutSystems fosters a culture of innovation—by lowering technical barriers, it empowers developers of all skill levels to experiment, iterate, and contribute creatively. The result is a more agile, collaborative environment where ideas flourish and solutions come to life faster than ever.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

One of the key drawbacks I’ve experienced with OutSystems is its heavy reliance on a stable internet connection. While the platform excels in streamlining development and deployment, its cloud-centric architecture means that even minor connectivity issues can disrupt productivity. This dependency can be particularly frustrating in environments with inconsistent network access or when working remotely from areas with limited bandwidth. It creates a bottleneck for developers who need offline flexibility or uninterrupted access to their tools. For teams that value autonomy and resilience in their workflows, this constant tethering to the internet can feel limiting and counterproductive.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems is solving a critical challenge that many enterprises face: the slow and often fragmented process of translating user requirements into functional applications. By leveraging its low-code environment, OutSystems enables teams across my organization to rapidly capture, iterate, and implement user needs with remarkable agility. The platform’s collaborative tools and visual development interface streamline communication between business and IT, reducing bottlenecks and accelerating delivery timelines. This speed and responsiveness not only improve stakeholder satisfaction but also empower teams to adapt quickly to changing demands, making innovation a continuous and achievable goal.

  ### 37. Evaluating OutSystems for MDS: Balancing Agility, Quality, and Governance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

OutSystems promises accelerated time-to-market and enhanced agility through low-code development, enabling rapid delivery of digital solutions. For MDS, this could translate into faster innovation cycles and improved responsiveness to business needs. However, adopting such a platform also raises challenges: ensuring consistent quality across applications, maintaining robust monitoring and governance, and avoiding potential vendor lock-in. This session explores the opportunities and risks of integrating OutSystems into MDS’s technology ecosystem, focusing on its impact on quality assurance, operational oversight, and strategic scalability.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

While OutSystems offers significant advantages in accelerating development and reducing time-to-market, there are notable challenges to consider. The platform introduces a degree of vendor lock-in, which can limit flexibility and increase long-term dependency. Additionally, ensuring consistent code quality and maintainability across low-code applications can be difficult, especially when scaling. Monitoring and governance require additional effort to maintain compliance and performance standards. Finally, licensing costs can become substantial as usage grows, impacting the overall ROI.

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSystems could address several key challenges currently faced by MDS. First, it can significantly reduce time-to-market for new digital solutions, enabling faster response to client and regulatory demands. Its low-code approach can also help mitigate resource constraints by empowering business users and reducing dependency on scarce development talent. Additionally, the platform’s built-in governance and monitoring tools can improve application lifecycle management and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Finally, OutSystems can enhance integration capabilities across legacy systems, creating a more connected and efficient technology ecosystem.

  ### 38. Outsystems is a very fast concept from paper to live application

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** oskari i. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

Outsystems is very intuitive to use and allows really fast application development. It also does a lot of things for you automatically, like error logging, reporting, etc which really eases on the developing side. Implementation is very easy too, as all widgets that are readily available, are easy to use and allows fast development.
Outsystems also makes integration of other systems, let's say through apis easy, which is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

More in the managing side, as previously we were told that we can start doing unlimited application objects, easing our development, which was then changed years later, causing significant increase in cost for many clients. Can we trust something similar wouldn't happen again?

**What problems is OutSystems solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Outsystems makes things easy and fast to make, which allows concept to come from paper to an actual application in just weeks depending on the size of the project. You can do really fast demos and readily available tools are very useful.

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about OutSystems?**

I am an OutSystems Architect currently, I have worked with it exclusively since 2016. So I use it every day more than 9 years already. OutSystems is really good at what it does, that being building applications that are quick to change and quick to market. It really shines for a developer to make everything so easy to build, be it integrating with other systems or even building beautiful front-ends for our customers to use. It is easy to implement and bring the applications that meet the business needs as fast as possible.

**What do you dislike about OutSystems?**

I think OutSystems should have a more specialized customer support, right now we only need help with complex scenarios and it always takes a lot of time to get to the right person within OutSystems to helps us with it. The ever changing billing strategy to the customers also makes it hard for us as a provider to give certainty to our customers.

OutSystems allows me and my teams to be a full stack developer, to within the same development tool to build everything a customer might need with almost no limitations
