Oracle commerce provides a framework to build ecommerce application with off-the-shelf components available to rapidly build and deploy an ecommerce web-application. It provides components to enable use-cases like browsing the catalog, creation and managing of a shopping cart, robust user authentication, dynamic order pricing, order checkout pipelines etc. One feature I like is the concept of Droplets and Formhandlers in Oracle webcommerce. The documentation is not very easy to go through and understand especially when you want to customize an existing component to add additional functionality. The concepts of droplets and formhandlers are easy to grasp whereas certain feature like pre-calculators, express checkout formhandlers, promotions engine, post-calculators takes time and experience to master and implement for large ecommerce application use cases. Oracle commerce applications are usually created as a monolith which may become a bottleneck to the scalability of you ecommerce application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
