## Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute Reviews
  ### 1. OCI- Reliable cloud partner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivanand L. | Senior Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

We are using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a cloud provider for our organization which is into supplychain and I would say it's one of the leading supply-chain. organization and we are able to run the operations with OCI seamlessly. We hosting 300+ customers into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and all the applications are running fine without any glitch.
OCI computes are very easy to manage and does not go on toss once its live and provisining is alsi very much easy and lot of custom options they provide so we can provision based on our need and it can be integrated with multiple cloud and we getting very good discounts from OCI since we are one of the major user of OCI thats a best part and we are giving application to customers as a SAAS product with the help of OCI. If you are using Oracle as a Database then OCI cloud is for you. Customer support is also good.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

As we know OCI still lacks with some servieces like Mesasging sysytems like SQS and Pub/subs and also compare to other clouds if we using any database other that Oracle we may end up paying more bill same goes with kuberenetes components as well, Sudden outages and reboots of VMs due to underlying infrastructure issues is what I dont like , some time they wont announce global outages quickly unless we reachout to them. So OCI status page is having bit delayed response.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially we did not had any infrastructure with us so we were only dependent on customer infra which was very much hard for us to manage and each customer had different cloud platforms which requires all kind of cloud experts but OCI as cloud when we introduced we were able to provide our product as SAAS to customers and we hosted everyone into one OCI with different compartments so easy to maintain and do the deployments as well, with this approach we generating huge revenue as SAAS product compare to earlier hence its helping alot.

  ### 2. Easy, Powerful, Flexible, Low Cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

My development team can quickly deploy scalable node.js applications that have tremendous power and reliability. Creating a load balanced scalable application that has power is easy. We have a great deal of confidence in the Oracle infrastrucure and we appreciate the low maintenance requirements - it runs very well with very little downtime.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

One must be careful about "leaving the lights on". If one does not watch their developers, they can turn things on and rack up bills for things are not in use. One must also be careful about subscription access. Applications like Visual Builder and Oracle Content can be accessed in some places under a fixed bid model sold by one's applications team, or one can turn on these applications and incurr houorly billing charges.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We build applications that we use to support our shared customers. Oracle customers have evaluated our solutions and found them to be more secure becuase our soluotion resides on the same infrastructure as their Oracle applications.

  ### 3. Most personable cloud company

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

The best parts about OCI are the support from the cloud solutions architects and the pricing. The hands on support is literally top notch.

The free offering is also the best in the business possibly too good.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

The documentation is not up to snuff majority of the time. It is also not very user friendly compared to other offerings. For example I would like to be able to use the web UI or avoid the oci console ui but it is not possible a lot of the times.

I would also like a better search as the current version relies on OCID which isn't very user friendly. I want to be able to search across all regions. Also it is very hard to delete resources once added even if I do not use them anymore.

The official oracle support request ticketing system is pretty trash and doesn't actually help or takes days to help most of the time.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed us to build a platform that researchers world wide could connect to. This is in turn allows for global AI research all in one central platform.

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

OCI does not provide any specific advantage for our company over any other cloud.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Everytime we open oracle SR's it's a bad experience. It single handedly stops me from advocating for oracle services. All they do is ask for logs. Worst support of all clouds.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing to do with container engine. It saves us licensing costs. Most SLAs are underwhelming in OCI otherwise.

  ### 14. Alternative to AWS or Azure

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Armando R. | Brand Manager and Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Oracle offers a very wide range of cloud products and services, and the best part is that we can try most on a very generous trial period, with some of these products being free forever.
Prices are very competitive.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

The whole process of starting using Oracle cloud and cloud compute services is a bit bureaucratic, complicated and time-consuming. The integration between, for example, the cloud dashboard and the support platform is just very confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute:**

My recommendation is that you try out the platform with their generous free tier. The start can be a bit slow but soon it will be worth to use their cloud services.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parwez A. | Senior Oracle Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

We have moved many of our existing customers database and ebs(erp) workload from existing on prem instance to oci compute instance.
Generally the overall transition show ample amount of improvement as far as processing rates are concerned.
But with introduction of new instances with 3rd Gen Intel Xeon ice lake processor , the performance get super better and ultra fast almost zero lag for heaviest application we have ever encountered.
Also the billing part is flexible, many of our customers wanted to have autoscaling only in certain time during the year with RAC setup horizontally increasing their load capacity.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Sometimes with few customers, we have seen even for some instances when they offer instances with much larger configuration, say instance with 512 gb memory and 256 cpu.
The performance which are expected from these kinds of configurations is not received by customers, giving space of doubt ,if the configuration delivered is actual ( but this happens only sometimes to some small fraction of customers )

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On of the leading insurance customers, who was having difficulty to manage all Exadata server on-premise and paying upfront with huge amount.

They were offered oracle cloud @ ccustomers,
With fully managed engineered system from Oracle with flexible monthly billing and no upfront cost.

  ### 24. One of the best Cloud computing ecosystems out there

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tapan J. | Associate Analytics Director at GroupM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

I like how the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute provides complete flexibility to choose compute instances based on Intel , AMD and ARM processors. The compute instances have been optimized leading to better compute performance at a much lower cost when compared to other players like AWS and Azure. The downtimes were limited and we rarely experience any lags. I was surprised to see the assortment of AMIs already available on the platform as I was not expecting these to be not present in that proportion.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

There are no instances that are backed by proprietary chips optimized for training like Google's TPU chips and for inferencing like Amazon Inferentia instances. That's an area where Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute is still lagging behind other cloud ecosystems.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem we have solved is to get rid of our existing servers and GPUs to train and deploy various applications and Machine Learning models. With Oracle Cloud Infrastructure compute, we don't need to go through the hassle of maintaining and upgrading the hardware as we can simply increase or decrease the computational power as per the requirement. For example, while training a model requires a lot of processing power and storage along with GPUs for training deep learning models while inference is relatively lightweight and requires less computing resources. So we need not invest in a high-performance GPU as it is required only for a few weeks/months for training rather than all the time. We have realized considerable savings as we pay only for what we use and are easily able to scale due to seasonal changes.

  ### 25. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Outdated or not?

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Oracle Compute Cloud Service helps us to reduce the CAPEX investment and also the OPEX as well. We already shift our small applications into the IaaS cloud service ; We have done a big job that is Mail server is running from Oracle Compute cloud service and it reduces our operational maintenance cost. We have done a Disaster recovery system that is in Hybrid model on oracle compute Cloud service ; our EBS Application has the Secondary option on cloud compute instance and Database as well on PaaS service. IT helps us a lot , anytime we can scale up and scale down the instance , any shape and any images that we can provision here.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Still Upgrading some features, Rapidly changes some features as Oracle trying to beat amazon , OCI introduce recently where as the old users are still using Classic service and the changes will effect some technical understanding to the users . It has still some environmental error certainly occur while instantiate some tasks but it is nominal and fixed automatically.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute:**

It is a very useful service for any company who are think about the Future technology because according to the Gartner by 2025 all the enterprise solutions will move the Cloud ; so this is the right time to introduce with cloud and comparing the price and other facilities Oracle Compute cloud is still better rather than others service provider.

OPEX investment reduce on our business for implementing oracle Compute Cloud Service.
We have many small applications that are running on premises server and to maintain the server is a cost effective also in a risky position regarding the power consume and management. we deploy those small applications on to the cloud , so as an Admin I am totally relax regarding server management. All are running in Cloud VM ; we also implemented Hybrid Cloud Solutions and our oracle enterprise Applications DR is running in Oracle Compute Cloud service which ensure our application with 0 downtime . also the security measures resolved after moving to the compute cloud.

The technical support is very satisfactory. The performance is good enough to meet our requirements. Oracle provides highly scalable solutions.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

The visual network designer would help to ensure that the configuration matches the intended design. In addition, the automatic and apparent migration of OCI Classic virtual machines to OCI would show that Oracle is taking the infrastructure service in the cloud seriously.

  ### 48. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute review.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily V. | IT Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

it is being used to upgrade from our current ERP system to the next, which is completely cloud-based. Our servers (web, applications, databases, monitoring servers, etc.) will be maintained in Oracle's cloud infrastructure. Whether it will be a public or private cloud will depend on the type of environment, the interested parties and the facilities offered for both clouds.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

IAAS (Infrastructure as a service) is not a customizable solution. It is a preconfigured system that sometimes adjusts to customer expectations but differs greatly in diversity. In addition, Oracle's private clouds are not delivered "as a service". This solution is a rental that can be modified, but is subject to hardware and software parameters, during a specific rental period.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute:**

Oracle's IAAS might work well for small organizations with less cloud computing and scalability requirements. This will result in less manual labor and considerable reduction in IT costs.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has solved an important infrastructure problem because we no longer have to worry about managing the life cycle of the application or technology, and it can escalate the JDE ERP offer as users migrate to consolidation target instances from instances inherited.

  ### 49. It's an highly reliable and cost effective infrastructure service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angelica M. | Senior Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

It fulfills all the necessaties that is essential for the infrastructure of cloud data-center. From computing of highly complex tasks to storage and sharing of cloud data. It is highly responsive cloud infrastructure. It also have user-friendly interface with lots of multilple helpful features. Pricing strategies are also very much on point and reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

It shows some bugs while working at different screens. It's a little outdated or bit behind in functionality than other such service providers but they do still are making effective upgrades . It is also not much compatible and takes time to fit in a already working environment.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very much cost effective in terms of computing. It could enhance the computing and in this way lots of IT cost could be saved. It is very much reliable and efficient to link it with other oracle products. Not much IT support is required ,so in this we could be saved from all the hustles and ultimately saves lots of time and expenditure.

  ### 50. Great customer service.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary T. | Technical Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Easy to implement and set-up services in oracle cloud platform. Easy for maintenance like applying patches, auto back-up on cloud storage and local storage.

**What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute?**

Auto Extend Data Storage on existing local storage process needs to be little improved, it's not smooth to create the extension of data storage on local.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute:**

It is very well best suited in place where people are using Oracle Data Warehouse and Oracle application tools, and also where they are planning to move to cloud platform.

**What problems is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization is using it for the BI data warehouse and is helping to have the Oracle database in the cloud with a very quick and easy step process with the configuration of the database environment. This database is helping us build our cloud data warehouse on Oracle's cloud platform and make pre-defined and ad hoc BI reports in the cloud.
