Though it has all features it takes to be great ecommerce platform, it lacks performance at times for heavy ecommerce implementation. Its good fit for Small to Medium enterprises for their ecommerce presence. But when it comes to thousands and millions of customers and products, this platform will not suffice needs in terms of customer experience as far as performance is concerned. Since its based on .Net core based architecture, it is not always easy to customize the code for adding new features in the platform. One who are just beginning with Ecommerce store setup and has very limited requirements like product listing, search, Shopping cart, discounts, promotions and shipping. Within just few days, you may have your ecommerce store up and running. Second are those who have small team of developers and have their backend ERP system integrated with Ecommerce system without having any standard connectors. Due to open source of nopCommerce, they can easily customize and expand coverage to integrate with LOB systems with ease. The development team is active on GitHub and replies to questions and issues. By default it pretty much everything someone will ever need and since the development team is pretty active it will remain a good choice for a long time. Relatively recently they embraced Linux so that helped lower hosting and administration costs. The Interface is nice and modern but the administration area can be a bit too much for inexperienced users, however there's the option to disable some stuff and make it easier for those users. **What do you dislike about nopCommerce?** Technology stack requires developers that are familiar with .Net, etc to properly work on it. It seems to be a bit heavier than alternatives. Low tier (shared) hosting won't be enough, VPS or Managed solutions are recommended. In the past it wasn't as easy to quickly change some things in the code, although this has probably changed by now. Compared to PHP eCommerce carts the barrier to entry is higher and the developers are more expensive but not terribly so.
