## About Nominal
Nominal is an Agentic Performance Management platform specifically designed for mid-market and enterprise finance teams that operate complex, multi-entity environments. This innovative solution seamlessly integrates with existing ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Dynamics, providing a robust framework that automates the manual tasks typically required between ERP systems and spreadsheets. By leveraging advanced AI agents, Nominal streamlines financial processes, allowing teams to focus on strategic decision-making rather than time-consuming administrative work. The platform excels in several key areas, beginning with Continuous Close and Close Management. Nominal transforms the month-end close process into a more efficient review mechanism by orchestrating tasks through a centralized layer. AI agents actively monitor the general ledger (GL) in real time, automatically drafting journal entries and generating review tasks while escalating issues as they arise. This proactive approach shifts the focus from discovering discrepancies after the fact to addressing them in real time, enhancing the overall efficiency of the close process. Another significant feature of Nominal is its Automated Reconciliation capability. The platform's sophisticated matching engine continuously reconciles bank, intercompany, and credit card transactions throughout the accounting period, achieving over 90% automation. This allows finance teams to concentrate on reviewing exceptions rather than sifting through every transaction, thus saving valuable time and resources. Nominal also offers robust Multi-Entity Consolidation and Reporting functionalities. The platform normalizes financial data across various entities, currencies, and ERPs into a unified consolidated model. Automated account mappings, foreign exchange translations, and intercompany eliminations ensure that consolidated reports are not only accurate but also refresh in real time, providing finance teams with up-to-date insights for informed decision-making. Additionally, the Transaction Patrol feature employs AI agents to monitor GL activity across all entities, identifying misclassifications, duplicates, and potential policy violations before they escalate into audit findings. At the heart of Nominal is its unified shadow ledger, which serves as a live, normalized copy of all financial data across every entity and ERP. This foundational element enables the platform's advanced capabilities, ensuring that finance teams can operate with confidence and clarity in their financial reporting and management processes.

## Nominal Reviews
 ### 1. Streamlined Close with AI-Driven Flux Analysis and Audit-Ready Visibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Senior Accounting Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Nominal?**

What I like best about Nominal is how it streamlines our close management by automating tedious reconciliation workflows, drastically cutting down our month-end timeline. Its AI-driven flux analysis automatically explains variances and flags anomalies, transforming a manual data-chase into a quick, review-ready process. It provides instant, audit-ready visibility across all our entities without requiring a messy ERP migration.

**What do you dislike about Nominal?**

The automated flux analysis and anomaly detection require some upfront calibration and tuning to match our specific business context and avoid false positives. While the standard dashboards and close management features are excellent, building highly customized, ad-hoc reports outside of their pre-built templates can occasionally feel rigid.

**What problems is Nominal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nominal solves the bottleneck of a chaotic month-end close and time-consuming variance research by replacing manual spreadsheet workflows with continuous, autonomous reconciliations. Its AI-driven flux analysis instantly tracks down transaction-level anomalies and generates natural-language variance explanations, saving our team hours of manual investigation. Ultimately, this transforms our close from a stressful data-chase into a streamlined, audit-ready review process that provides leadership with rapid, reliable insights.

**Official Response from Valentina de Jongh:**

> It's great to hear that Nominal is solving the bottleneck of chaotic month-end close and time-consuming variance research for you. We're committed to providing a solution that saves your team hours of manual work and transforms the close process into a streamlined, audit-ready review.

 ### 2. Clear Consolidation Visibility That Streamlines Close, Reporting, and Audits

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole R. | Senior Auditor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Nominal?**

What I like most about Nominal is how much visibility it gives me into our consolidation process. Being able to drill directly into balances and supporting detail makes it significantly easier to investigate variances and answer audit questions without having to pull information from multiple sources. The workflow around reconciliations and entity-level reviews has also helped keep our close process more organized and transparent.

One of the biggest improvements to my workflow has been the time savings during monthly reporting and lender reporting. Instead of manually tracing balances across multiple spreadsheets, I can quickly review consolidated results, identify differences, and validate balances in one place. This has reduced the amount of time spent on manual tie-outs and allows me to focus more on analysis and review.

An unexpected benefit has been how useful Nominal is during audit periods. Auditors frequently request support and explanations for balance movements, and having a centralized system with clear visibility into transactions and consolidations makes those requests much easier to address. It has also improved collaboration across teams because everyone is working from the same data set and reporting structure.

**What do you dislike about Nominal?**

One area where I think Nominal could improve is flexibility in reporting and data exports. There are times when I still need to manipulate information outside the system to get the exact view or format needed for management, audit, or lender reporting.

I would also like to see more visibility into how certain calculations and consolidation adjustments are being performed. While the results are generally accurate, having an easier way to trace the underlying logic would make reviews and troubleshooting more efficient.

Finally, as someone who works extensively with multiple entities and statutory reporting requirements, additional customization options for account mappings, reporting structures, and variance analysis would be helpful. These enhancements would reduce manual work and make month-end and audit processes even more streamlined.

**What problems is Nominal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The consolidation and intercompany modules have been especially valuable, allowing us to manage a global entity structure more efficiently and spend less time maintaining complex Excel files. Having a centralized source of truth has also made collaboration with auditors and finance stakeholders much easier

**Official Response from Valentina de Jongh:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Nominal! We're pleased to hear that the visibility and workflow around reconciliations and entity-level reviews have been valuable for your close process and reporting. We appreciate your feedback on areas for improvement, such as flexibility in reporting and data exports, visibility into calculations, and customization options. We will definitely consider these suggestions for future enhancements. It's great to hear that Nominal has been beneficial in streamlining your consolidation and intercompany management, and we look forward to continuing to support your needs.

 ### 3. Invaluable Flux Analysis That Saves Hours and Strengthens Board Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy O. | VP, Accounting & Audit, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Nominal?**

The flux analysis has been invaluable to us during reviews, especially for creating executive summaries and supporting board reporting. It’s saving us hours that we used to spend digging into variances, and the explanations have been spot-on.

**What do you dislike about Nominal?**

Since it’s still in development, we expect a few glitches along the way, but the team addresses them quickly and gets them ironed out.

**What problems is Nominal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nominal is saving us valuable time during close. With the transaction portal and checklists, we’ve reduced our close by 2 days so far, and we expect to bring it down to a 5-day cycle overall (a 3-day close with 2 days for reporting and reconciliations).

**Official Response from Valentina de Jongh:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Nominal's flux analysis. We understand the importance of a smooth close process and are committed to continuously improving our product to meet your needs.

 ### 4. Flexible Finance AI Agents with Seamless ERP Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt C. | Principal Financial Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Nominal?**

Nominal is an extremely flexible AI Agent platform built specifically for Finance. It’s quick and easy for our team to configure and use in their day-to-day work, automatically identifying issues and helping us resolve them. It also integrates directly with our ERP, which makes pulling and posting entries straightforward. The team was outstanding throughout implementation, and they continue to provide consistent product updates afterward.

**What do you dislike about Nominal?**

Sometimes the answers provided by the agents are incorrect and must be reworked.

**What problems is Nominal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nominal helps us reconcile large volume financial transactions automatically.

**Official Response from Valentina de Jongh:**

> We're glad to hear that Nominal has been able to provide your team with a quick and easy platform for finance tasks, as well as seamless integration with your ERP system. We appreciate your feedback about the outstanding implementation and consistent updates.

 ### 5. Clear Month-End Visibility with Hands-On Support from Nominal

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lakesha J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Nominal?**

It provides a clear line of sight into our month-end tasks and the status of each one. I also appreciate the hands-on approach from the CEO and the onboarding team.

**What do you dislike about Nominal?**

I haven’t found any real downsides to using Nominal. They’re consistently implementing new tools and, just as importantly, they listen to feedback on how the tool can work better.

**What problems is Nominal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nominal gives us a clear view of our consolidation process and the status of our month-end close timeline. We’re also starting to use Nominal for flux analysis, which is helping us shorten the month-end close and deliver better insight into both the balance sheet and the income statement.

**Official Response from Valentina de Jongh:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Nominal. We're glad to hear that our platform provides the clarity and support you need for your month-end tasks. We're dedicated to ongoing improvement and are excited to continue supporting your needs.

 ### 6. Nominal Automates Manual Tasks in a Customized Way!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua R. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Nominal?**

The ability of the system to automate routine, manual closing tasks and daily transactions is incredibly helpful in making the closing process more efficient and significantly reducing the opportunity for human error in accounting entries.

The customization aspect ensures the functionality is meeting our needs and working the way we need to close more timely.

**What do you dislike about Nominal?**

The implementation of each new close area is a little time consuming as it requires a high level of diligence and review to ensure the automation is working in the way expected and there are no errors being made before setting the functions to automatically occur on an ongoing basis.

**What problems is Nominal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The business problem of having human capital waste time on routine, manual work that is prone to human errors as opposed to focusing on more analysis and strategic tasks that more directly increase value added by the team. CPS/Enterprise is helping reduce that time being spent by employees on these routine tasks to allow them to address other, higher priority issues or enhance efficiency in other areas.

**Official Response from Valentina de Jongh:**

> We're glad to hear that Nominal is helping to automate routine tasks and reduce human error in accounting entries. We understand that the implementation process can be time-consuming, but we're committed to ensuring that the automation functions meet your expectations and work effectively for your team.
