It addresses the part of the job that consumes the most hours and returns the least: deciding which frames from a shoot are worth keeping. For photographers shooting 2,000 to 4,000 images per event, the selection pass often takes longer than the shoot itself. Narrative removes the mechanical parts of that pass, the zooming to check focus, the frame-by-frame comparison of near-duplicates, the search for the one group shot where nobody blinked. It returns an ordered, assessed shoot the photographer can move through quickly, then ships the selects to Lightroom, Photoshop, or Capture One in one click. The distinction that defines the product is that Narrative does not make the selection. It sorts, ranks, and explains, then leaves the call to the photographer, which is what separates it from fully automated tools where selections arrive already made. Month ago I accidentally created a second Narrative account (totally my fault) and was paying for the premium monthly and on the other account yearly. After realizing this I messaged Narrative, they messaged back, (immediately), helped me 'condense' the accounts AND refunded the months I had double paid.
