I like that any changes made in this system are update instantly.

The mobile app is not user friendly for clock in and clock outs for employees.

We switched form this platform to another beings this system doesnt have the mobile funciationality we need.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

The ability to see a resident across Care Settings and track the resident through the continuum.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

The amount of time to get an interface installed and the complexity of any interface. Every time we want to interface with other systems all we hear is that they have an interface for PCC and have never heard of myUnity.

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

Great for large complex organizations with large IT departments.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

myUnity is our electronic medical record and it seems to keep the data organized with the ability to bill our residents.  The interface to pharmacy gives us hundreds of warnings that are humanly impossible to clear.   At the beginning of the year the MCCP billing changed and 6 months later it is still not fixed causing incorrect payments from Medicare.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

MyUnity Clinical (Devero product) is great, processes are helpful, having all levels of care in one system

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

Reporting is very much lacking, system not intuitive/not easy to learn (new clinical user training takes at least 8 hours), database is unorganized-hard to find data, so many ADT issues with users entering wrong information in wrong admission (because it's confusing with how many admissions can be open at one time). Support is lacking. There are too many people touching the ticket before resolution. CAE constantly changes. Interfaces take a long time to implement. Innovations take a long time to implement. A lot of new functionality released is only halfway release (so technically unusable). It's hard to find someone to listen to us and take action. So many Netsmart employees have voiced that the knowledge of senior living is lacking. They need to listen to the clients on how to improve the system.

Keeping all residents in one system, MDS tracking, regulatory changes put in myUnity on time

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

I like the ease of Faxing information/orders directly from My Unity system and receiving documentation/orders directly into the system.  Less paper to handle.  Web-based program.  Logging on is easy and quick.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

The small print on the orders/documentation, challenging to read.   Lack of proper training, multiple calls to correct problems.  Information on Recertification orders looks overwhelming and repetitive.  No narrative on Recertification orders.  No easy way to write Resumption of Care orders that make sense.  Issues with wrong or no clinician name coming out on orders.  A lot of information entered into the patient profile does not populate over to the patient chart.  Orders that are faxed out and received have pages cut off, are blank, or are not all received as one document.  There is too much work for the back office to handle.  This product is not user friendly, and the lack of real training doesn't help.  Too many "buttons" that had to be turned on.  Too many corrections need to be made before Plan of Care is ready to be faxed out.  Information from Assessments do not properly transfer to the Plan of Care.  I could go on but this product is terrible.

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

Carefully consider whether you have the back office personnel to handle the workload of this product.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Issues with wrong clinician signatures on orders.  I still need to correct this on my end in order to have the correct clinician signature on the Plan of Care.  This product has slowed down our progress and wasted much of my time.

It is not user-friendly.  Too many steps to complete one action.  Unable to customize reports.

Currently, it is just a record holder and MAR/TAR.

It is a very technology based system and very rigid as far as the order of operations

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

I would definitely make sure that the clinicians that will actually be using the system have an opportunity to thoroughly test the system to see if a majority of the users are comfortable with the technological aspect of the system. If staff aren't comfortable with computers/technology this may not be the best system to adopt.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Netsmart offers community group discussions via zoom calls for end-users across the nation to come together and voice their concerns and ideas regarding specific features of the program. It is very helpful to be able to come together with a Netsmart staff member and other end-users to discuss what is working well and what needs to be improved upon. Programs like this should be designed by those that put the system to functional use. The fact that Netsmart offers these monthly discussions to get end-user suggestions/ideas is very encouraging.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

For end-users the platform works very well. It is easy to use, stable, and scalable and overcomes the challenges of working in environments with limited internet connections.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

The process from A to Z (admission to dropping a claim) can be very challenging and labor-intensive for organizations. The checks and balances that ensure that a claim is valid and won't be rejected require labor inputs from different individuals, and even though these protections help organizations stay on the right side of compliance, you have to install layers of staff support for QA in order to get your claims processed on a timely basis. It would help clients to know this in advance and be able to adjust support systems to avoid any delays in the revenue cycle process.

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

Ask lots of questions, have a robust training and implementation plan, and make sure that you have a good revenue cycle solution prior to going live.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows the activity recorded in the EMR to meet and exceed compliance requirements. It also allows users from different specialties to communicate effectively and adjust the plan of care and or care priorities effectively and on a timely basis.  Ultimately it affects the quality of care that we provide our patients and interconnects all stakeholders effectively and consistently.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

MyUnity is a great database with easy access to client and personnel files as well as schedule staff for shifts. Payroll processing very easy and capabilities endless. IT ticketing system, save favorite browsers, reporting capabilities as well.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

Network slowness causes glitches on occasion, if too many users companywide. Works differently, glitchy on different browsers.

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

MyUnity is a great patient/caregiver scheduling tool to ensure compliance and workers are qualified/skilled to match a clients needs.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using myUnity for staffing services, patient medical documentation and to track caregiver requirements, ensure credentialong and scheduling go hand and hand. This system is very easy to learn, you are also able to export reporting onto excel spreadsheets. The system is secure and exercises HIPAA.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

We love the ease of the documentation and the ability to view the patient schedule.
We really liked being able to reduce time spent for each patient encounter so we could increase productivity and reduce overtime.
We love that the patient information entered in the patient home can be seen by the office staff in real time.
Customer support is awesome!

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

We had lots of difficulty with connectivity to our iPads. It has improved and we continue to work on this.

We improved nurse time per patient visit to reduce overtime and allow us to see more patients in a day.
We reduced paper so we can become paperless.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

Love that the  Care Plan is worked into the assessment and the summary of problems flows to the printed IDT notes!  I lover that that it is cloud bases and you can see someones partial docmentation because we all know that there are times we don't get to finish at bedside because we were pulled to an emergency. I really like that as an nursing leader I can pull up a pending document a nurse is working on and given them feedback if they have questions. Batch printing is very easy. Uploading documents electronically to the chart or scanning to chart is amazing user friendly. Of the 4 sympstoms for hospice that I have used over the years this is by far my favorite and as a clinician the most user friendly. The auto save function is amazing, no worries about loosing your info because your tablet times out or your left that screen before saving.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

There are still some issues with care plans not sticking and flowing over to the recert assessments.  In the clinical side field staff are having difficulty moving visits from day to and often having to have admin staff go into back office to move visits. Also there is difficulty moving assignment as a batch from one day to another throughout the cert period.  With all that being said they are aware and working on a fix and is one of my top rated hospice documentation systems I have used.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Love the cloud based real time access. With our previous EMR we had to wait until the end of the day or find somewhere with internet services to connect to the server and synch the computer. Real time uploads also helps knowing where staff are in there day based on what charts they have opened and time stamped.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

Solution works across our LOBs giving better visibility to our business; There are built in standard forms available as well as workflows for the different roles ranging from RNs, SWs, CPs, Providers, Aides, etc.  The IPU functionality and Smartboard in the Back Office is a nice functionality for the RNs in the IPU areas.  The IDG module is also a nice culmination of a lot of functional pieces for clinicians and providers to see a snapshot of Medications, Advanced Directives, Diagnoses, Plan of Care, Scribe Notes, etc.  We also like the Plan of Care links that are built into the assessments that allow plan of care goals and interventions to be added as clinicians are completing the review of systems and other information in the assessment.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

Changes and movement back and forth between Back Office and Clinical.  Many of the data points/functions have multiple points of entry and don't always match.  This creates opportunity for mismatch and duplication in workflows.  This includes responsible/related parties, team/staff assignments, physician listings, level of care & location of service, addresses as part of demographics.   The Finance workflows for claims processing, A/R and Payment posting are antiquated and need to be updated, streamlined and easier for end users.  The HIS process for Hospice abstraction needs to be streamlined across IPU/Home patients as well.

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

Clients planning to implement myUnity need to have strong project management skills and not rely on NTST for the project managment of the project.  Recommend a phased rollout rather than a big bang rollout when implementing.  Training for rollout needs to include multiple touches for the clinicians and providers prior to go live of the system.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

myUnity is providing EMR functionality for our Hospice, Personal Care, Bereavement and Transitional services in the home and IPU environment.  It has allowed us flexibility to support additional services such as an Alzheimers/Dementia program and an Opioid reduction program.

Net smart allows me to easily capture the data I need from visit to visit. It saves automatically so I can go out of forms and enter right back into them when I need to.

It appears to be a glitchy system where some controls work one week and then with an update you may have lost access to controls or forms you previously were using.

Net smart allows me to easily document my visits with different patients and the user interface is simple to learn. I am more productive using this system.

It has been pretty easy to use (I use the backend as an HR employee).  I find that training new HR staff is easy as the product is easy to understand and navigate.

I would like for the program to "auto save" or propt you to save before you switch tabs (again, backend)

NetSmart/ MyUnity is very easy to use from a HR/ Coordinator point of view if that is something that you value.  It's easy to train new staff on the product.  The only issue that I've had with the program is that sometimes the reports are a little hard to read or sort, but they are helpful for tracking requirements for the staff.

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reports have been helpful for tracking employee requirements that are necessary for state/ federal compliance.  It's saved time to be able to pull a report rather that creating an excel spreadsheet or going into each physical file.

Improves automation and is good for our clinical documentation.  It can be customized to your needs and gives options for using on  different technology .. IPads, laptops, etc.  Windows based and provides easy to use tools to help you complete all the steps needed within a process.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

Screens fonts are small and it can be hard to read.  Reports are not as excel friendly as we would like.

NetSmart for Hospice has many features that you will like and will make your clinicians documentation easier.

Documentation for Aides is better and automating Physician orders, signatures/approvals.

We have been using it since June and what I like most is that it is web based. The support team is great.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

It has been much more work as compared to other EMR's we have used. I have to call the support line between 5 and 10 times a day for help on things that should already be active in the system. It's almost like clinicians were not asked to consult when developing this program.

Everything is done in real time it's easier to document in the home

When the process goes well, the end user experience is very easy.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

The poor integration between the two products.  The complete lack of usable reports means that all regulatory and other reporting has to be generated by hand/ edited out of many reports.   The painfully slow UAT/test system and adaxes system.

**Recommendations to others considering myUnity:**

Make sure you see the product first hand, in a live environment before making a decision.

As I'm in IT, none.  Both of our previous EMRs were were far easies to manager from an IT point of view.

Self Portal Password Reset. I like that nurses can go in and reset their own passwords. That makes it really easy for users to get back in. Our previous system did not have that option.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

I do not like the 3000 list of privileges for users. It is a little overhwhelming for IT.

Keep looking at other products.

The banner at the top that displays patient names and pertinent information makes it easy to ID the patient. It’s also very inclusive of all topics necessary. 

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

The tab titles aren’t obviously named and aren’t well organized. I didn’t know nursing notes were under census —> notes. It also is confusing how all the documents are titled. If they’re MD notes, it should be displayed at the tab. Instead I have to click all of Hospital clinal notes to find it.

Well it’s nice it’s easy to see medication orders and downloading the pdf is simple.

DeVero was very easy to use, very straightforward and accessible when charting on our clients.

I disliked that it wouldn't notify you if you missed something when inputting your client information from that day.

Always try to at least get your chart opened and pending before the end of the day that way you will never miss a day, which in turn can set back billing services. But its a great system and as soon as you learn to navigate it, it makes charting so much easier.

Staying up to date on your charting and having access to do so at home, or later that day rather than during your shift at work.

1 - When information is updated, changes can be seen almost instantly.
2 - The ability to open different windows and be able to work on different areas simultaneously.

1 - Running statistic reports takes too long sometimes, not sure if it is the program itself or the server.
2 - Limited options to search for information.
3 - Reports are not fully customizable, at least not at my level.
4 - Sometimes when you make a wrong selection when inputting data, you can't just change your selection. you have "end date it" and re-enter the correct one.

This is the first software of this kind that I use so I don't have anything to compare it to but it gets the job done. I just wish it was a little bit more flexible with its reporting, and that you had an option for screen customization.

Devero is very user friendly. All a user has to do is click on the form they need to use. It’s all on one main page.

I don’t like that you can’t open a form from inside  a patient’s chart.

Highly recommend having super users on hand once you have gone live. It helped us tremendously to pull the whole branch in and put slides up and go over every form.

Devero has made chart audits a lot easier with some of the functions it has from the supervisor main menu. For example, I can do wound audits by clicking on the wound measurements link - this allows me to make sure the nurse has done the required weekly wound measurements; also the supervisory visit link allows me to make sure papraprofessuonals have had a supervisory visit conducted per agency policy.

The best feature is the look up for the GE products, which helps to get the cheap price and the greatest rebate from the preferred manufacturer.
Also it shows the purchase history which makes easier to reorder any out of stock items,
Also picture if the product shown helps a lot to minimize the error in placing the order.

Some of the item lacks picture which make it somewhat difficult to decide.

**What do you like best about myUnity?**

It is easier than writing.  The ability to copy and paste everyday removes the need for copying the note over.  Daily visits can be updated in the home.  It reminds you daily to coordinate with other team members and to discuss discharge ahead of time, so the family and patient have time to adjust.

**What do you dislike about myUnity?**

While it is easy to copy and paste, the PT has to make sure not to miss changing a significant finding while writing the review in the home or car.  The idea is to save time, however at times, more time is spent checking and re-checking for these types of errors.  A program with less writing and more check marks would eliminate this problem.  Additionally, there are not enough characters to type into the note when something significant happens causing the User to delete unsused parts ot the note as time goes by to get enough characters.

Use a different program

**What problems is myUnity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you carefully fill in each area and make sure to explain improvements, declines, etc.  Then your note is complete and will especially fulfill Medicare requirements.  However, for some PT's, they rush through the written parts and do not explain changes, plateaus or declines.  Medicare especially requires coordination of care and the need to do this is on the note as a reminder daily.

My favorite thing about Devero is how incredibly easy it is to access anything by one click of the mouse. In that same sense, Devero is also very versitile. I love how it does and has everything I need to be successful within my position as a biller. One click, and I'm where I need to be. Awesome!

This software is flexible and easily formatted to any business needs. Integration is a neat feature with this software also. Tabs are easy to use and formatting is easy to customize.

The system is a bit dated but I think it's easy to get around. Everyone knows how to use older systems but learning new systems and functions are harder, so in that regard, being an older system shouldn't be disliked too much.

Recommend doing a demonstration with the company before considering switching over to make sure it's the software for your company.

This system is good for any practitioner's office from dental to psychology . The benefits of this system is that it's flexible and can be used in a variety of offices.
