MySQL provides online backing up of data on multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows and MAC. **What do you dislike about MySQL Backup?** The backup for an extensive database takes up a considerable amount of time to complete. However, when the database is small, the backup time is negligible. While uploading the database online, the consistency of backing up files might get hampered due to some network issues. **What problems is MySQL Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** The major problem being solved is storing data in hard drives. We can compress all of our data and upload om MySQL backup so that we have easy access of it. For large data it takes up more time to upload, but we can continuously monitor it. ### 2. I use the MySQL Workbench tool or the mysqldump command to export the data from a database to a file in a variety of formats (e.g. CSV, JSON, etc.), and then import that data into another database using the same tool or the mysql command. Although backup & restore using query is also easy and faster way to do it.Its really good solutions for backing up SQL Server database on remote servers as well as on local storage. **What do you dislike about MySQL Backup?** There is no any such downside of using SQL Server Backup service. Yeah one thing is that if the database is very large then there are some performance issues. Again if compare with other open source tool for backup still there many features are not available yet. **Recommendations to others considering MySQL Backup:** SQL Server Backup works really well with Microsoft SQL Server. If you are using database other than SQL Server i suggest consider backup solution from the same database vendor. Scheduling of backup on remote needs little careful evaluation of the implementation. Pricing of SQL Server is very expensive compared to other Open Source Database like Postgres which are completely free, so if you developing any new database application please consider open source options it reduce the cost drastically. Also these open source database comes with robust backup and restore solutions. **What problems is MySQL Backup solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used Sql Server Backup service to move the development database to production server to avoid the new creation of database from scratch on production environment.
