When I contact customer service, it takes a long time to get a response. I would like a feature that automatically links phone numbers. **Recommendations to others considering Modern Campus:** Make sure you have a web developer and designer on staff. **What problems is Modern Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a massive website. OU Campus enables us to allow clients to update their own sites. This gives us more time to focus on big picture projects. ### 4. Very outdated and not interactive at all. Every time I call they have an answer and will fix my problem immediately. They are intelligent and know what they are doing. **What do you dislike about Modern Campus?** I don't like how little of power I have to change my website. The IT department is nice, but I wish I didn't have to call them every time to add a page to my Left Nav. Also, formatting is a nightmare. I don't even know where to begin. It makes me shiver. **Recommendations to others considering Modern Campus:** We need more flexibility when it comes to designing the webpage and it needs to be more interactive! Going from Wix to OU has been quite disappointing. **What problems is Modern Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't know if we're solving any problems with OU Campus. Yes, I've been able to make significant upgrades to our website since I started here, but it's still lacking significantly because it doesn't have any up to date features. ### 5. It is simple and user friendly. There are many different features you can use to customize the website you are trying to build. It is also easy to use with multiple departments. I also like that I can update information as necessary to the websites I am managing. **What do you dislike about Modern Campus?** The only thing I dont like about the OU Campus tool is the check in feature. I dont like that it doesnt automatically check someone out of a website when they have not been using it for a while. I also dont like that when you put in certain characters into the OU campus website, it will create issues for your website and you are unable to publish certain material. While there already are many features to customize your website, I think it would be good if there was more options for customization. I also was able to do hyperlinks easier than i was before. A system update may have changed that. **Recommendations to others considering Modern Campus:** I would see if there is not a locked out option. This is a great resource for us to get the message out about open employment opportunities. It saves us lots of time and hassle when we conduct a site redesign. PLUS, the idea of staging server where we can preview changes in an interactive environment before publish ing live. **What do you dislike about Modern Campus?** The source code editor leave much to be desired. EX: When a tag is selected ALL instances of that tag "highlight" instead of only the closing tag for that element. It would be GREAT if OU could employ the Brackets API as it's built-in code editor: http://brackets.io/. **Recommendations to others considering Modern Campus:** Please give OU Campus serious consideration... Working multiple hours a day with an elegant CMS certainly a pleasure! **What problems is Modern Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** OU Campus is our CMS for all "official" University of Arkansas web sites. It gives us the power to create and maintain sites with multiple levels of users throughout campus. OU Campus gives us a elegant way to combine site wide include files upon publication. We can separate content into different "buckets" which completely mirror our information architecture plan for a site. ### 7. Filled all the needs of communication with PHYs 100 and 200 level calculus based courses. **What problems is Modern Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Real-time student problem solving, interaction of "office hours" at a time of my choosing and most often quicker response time to students working on problems between classes. ### 9. The features and modules were suited for editing webpages for my previous university setting. It is also nice that it is accessible through the Cloud. **What do you dislike about Modern Campus?** Although some of its feature make webpage management easier, there is still room for improvement in making use of the software more user-friendly. From a content manager's perspective, minimal web knowledge is actually needed. Having used this now daily for 3 years, I have hardly ever experienced any lagging or major issues. **What do you dislike about Modern Campus?** Unfortunately, OU's customer service needs much improvement. Submitting an issue to them is almost useless. In my experience, they never follow up or address any issues that have been submitted. There are a few minor quirks in the CMS that are very frustrating and are probably very simple fixes on their end if they actually cared. **Recommendations to others considering Modern Campus:** This is a wonderful, user-friendly product if your company has a great in-house support team. If you are going to rely heavily on OU customer support you should look elsewhere **What problems is Modern Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** OU acts as the CMS for the entire university I work for with many webmasters as users. Once trained, the CMS is very user-friendly for even those with very little web experience. ### 11. Campuses need a reason to outsource this type of work. **What problems is Modern Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having satellite or siloed offices migrate to OU Campus reduces the complexity relating to logins for important campus systems and functions.
