All hardware and services are included in the cost, and Meter did not cut corners. Hardware is fast: much faster than Cisco/Meraki. The support team is skilled and helpful. Nothing that I would consider a big problem, but it show in comparison to a mature company like Cisco. That can also be a good thing because Meter provides a personal touch which Cisco does not because of its larger size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Meter Connect: NaaS can be a good fit for many companies, and Meter has given me a positive feeling. When my Cisco/Meraki renewal came due, I was also faced with needing to upgrade hardware. It would have been one thing to replace my old wireless access points but I would not have gained much benefit if I kept the old Ethernet switches. And to do it all it would have been a major capital expense. That's where Meter and the Network-as-a-Service model wins big in overall cost saving and benefits.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Meter Connect? I have yet to encounter any facet of using Meter that I dislike. In a perfect world, their offices would be next door and I could just pop in if there is was something I needed, but it is not really a hardship because Meter uses local companies to help support their client base. We updated to Meter networking during the summer of 2024 and it was the best decision we could have made. The service is exemplary and their hardware and software is state of the art. Even the cost is comparable to traditional networking models when taking all expenses into account. Everything is managed by Meter - LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi. Rather than research for a secondary ISP for our network redundancy, they lay out all the vendors and assisted us in initiating, procuring, and managing our secondary ISP. As an IT Director managing responsibilities that extend far beyond IT, time and resources to oversee our nationwide network are extremely limited. Unfortunately, most solutions are financially out of reach for our budget. Meter addresses this gap by taking on the majority of tasks required to secure and monitor our network effectively, with minimal intervention needed from my end. What do you dislike about Meter Connect? Their prompt handling of incidents has only reinforced my confidence in their services, leaving me with no concerns about their ability to meet our needs. Recommendations to others considering Meter Connect: For anyone considering Meter, I’d wholeheartedly recommend them... with some realistic expectations. Like any IT implementation, the initial setup and troubleshooting require active customer participation. Expect some challenges during this phase; no rollout is flawless, and every network is unique. However, Meter’s team stands out by staying true to their word, addressing issues promptly, and taking ownership when necessary. Once everything is fine-tuned, customer involvement significantly decreases. Meter’s equipment has been reliable, and their handling of ISP or other network-related issues has been seamless. They proactively notify me of incidents, detail the actions they’ve taken, and consistently keep the network secure. Based on our successful rollout at the corporate office, we’re excited to expand Meter’s services to our nine additional locations nationwide. I don’t give recommendations lightly... those who know me understand my recommendations carry weight. When I endorse a company, it’s because they’ve earned it. Our email system was recently hacked due to some clicking that shouldn't have happened (voicemail to email files disguised as malicious .html files) which created havoc throughout the company. Meter had been offered as a solution prior to this happening, but had been tabled. Meter took care of a big chunk of the technical lift of moving into our first office. One of the big step changes when hitting ~40 people and graduating from WeWork is suddenly needing to oversee our own WiFi and ISP. Meter made the whole process super easy. From picking an ISP, to organizing vendors to wire up the site, and through to managing the tech going forward. Meter saved us a lot of time and stress up front. Implict in Meter's business model is giving up a lot of control over your local network. Meter's Network Management dashboard / console limits a bunch of 'advanced' workflows (e.g., detailed network monitoring). I'm a People Ops team of one. Managing networking infrastructure procurement and deployment would be an expensive project for me to solely own. With Meter, I've been able to feel supported throughout the entire process without having to worry about the nuances of a build-out. It saves me a ton of time to work on other business priorities. However, there have been a few instances where they were not as responsive to urgent emergencies as we needed. Recommendations to others considering Meter Connect: At times Meter may need to hire a local contractor to do the work, therefore Meter acts as a project manager. In some cases the full scope of work may not be conversed with the contractors. If you are unsure or think something is not being done up to standards that were discussed, it's best to keep Meter looped in on what is happening so they can direct the contractors towards success.
