## Metabase Reviews
  ### 1. Intuitive, Cost-Effective BI That Streamlines Dashboards and Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** BHARAT SINGH B. | Business Analyst, Logistics and Supply Chain, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

What I like most about Metabase is its intuitive UI and overall ease of use. It allows both technical and non-technical users to explore data, build dashboards, and generate insights with a minimal learning curve. For advanced users, the SQL editor is powerful and flexible, while the visual query builder makes analysis approachable for business teams.

Metabase also integrates smoothly with a wide range of databases and data sources, which makes it easier to centralize reporting and keep an eye on key business metrics. Creating dashboards, applying filters, and sharing results is straightforward, and these features work well for cross-functional collaboration.

From a performance and ROI standpoint, Metabase offers excellent value, especially when compared with more expensive BI tools. It delivers robust analytics capabilities at a cost-effective price point, helping organizations make data-driven decisions without a major investment. Onboarding is simple, and the active community support helps answer most implementation and day-to-day usage questions quickly.

Overall, Metabase has noticeably improved our reporting efficiency, reduced manual analysis work, and enabled faster access to actionable business insights.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

While Metabase is a powerful and cost-effective BI tool, there are a few areas where it could improve. Performance can sometimes slow down when working with very large datasets, complex SQL queries, or heavily filtered dashboards. In addition, some advanced analytics, data modeling, and visualization customization features feel less robust than what you might find in enterprise BI platforms.

The dashboard layout and formatting controls can also seem somewhat limited when you’re trying to build highly customized reports. Integrations are generally solid, but more advanced workflow and automation needs may still require additional tools or custom implementation.

For new users, there can be a learning curve around troubleshooting query performance and understanding data relationships. Support for self-hosted deployments may also rely heavily on community resources. And while AI-powered capabilities are improving across the BI industry, Metabase’s native AI and intelligent analytics features currently feel more limited than those offered by some newer analytics platforms.

Even with these limitations, Metabase remains an excellent option for organizations looking for an easy-to-use, affordable, and scalable business intelligence solution.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metabase helps solve the challenge of turning large volumes of raw data into actionable business insights. Before using Metabase, generating reports often required manual data extraction, complex SQL queries, and significant time from technical teams. With Metabase, stakeholders can access dashboards, monitor KPIs, and explore data independently, reducing reliance on data analysts for routine reporting.

The platform has improved visibility into key business metrics such as performance, operations, customer engagement, and revenue trends through real-time dashboards and automated reporting. Its easy-to-use interface allows teams across different functions to make data-driven decisions faster without requiring deep technical expertise.

From a business perspective, Metabase has increased reporting efficiency, reduced manual effort, improved decision-making speed, and enhanced collaboration by providing a single source of truth for data. It has also delivered strong ROI by offering robust analytics capabilities at a lower cost compared to many traditional BI solutions.

  ### 2. User-Friendly and Developer-Friendly BI Tool That’s Easy to Get Started With

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SAURABH B. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

This service is user-friendly for beginners. When I started my career, I used Metabase in the early days, and it didn’t take much time to understand the functionality. Overall, it feels developer-friendly and easy to get started with.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

The most important issue for me was the slowdown during report refresh when the Redshift SQL query runs slowly. In other words, performance depends heavily on the Redshift engine specifications and on how well our queries are written. It also doesn’t have an inbuilt engine, and metaase UI hasn’t been updated with new AI features or newer types of charts.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metabase is easy to set up, and cost-wise it’s free with the open-source version. Most people can handle basic reporting with it. The UI is user-friendly, but it’s also SQL-focused, and it doesn’t try to overcomplicate things. I’m using it for a monitoring dashboard, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

  ### 3. Simple, User-Friendly UI That Works Great for Non-Technical Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

What I liked most was the simple UI and how easy it is to use, even for a non-technical person. The query performance, integrations along with its MCP integration with claude, also helped the team use AI to write SQL queries more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

In general, the self-hosted versions don’t support AI features, which can sometimes mean I have to use different AI agents for different purposes. The versions which are managed are available at high pricing.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Metabase to meet our complete BI requirements. It has helped our teams turn numbers into clear charts, graphs, and trends, which in turn supports our data-backed decision-making. It is very helpful to onboard a non technical person to metabase.

  ### 4. Metabase: Intuitive user-friendliness with small hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias S. | Sr. BI Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

I love the Question feature of Metabase, which allows for the creation of no-code SQL queries that can be easily and intuitively answered even by non-technical users. It's great that you can access joinable fields in Questions without an active join, provided the table documentation is well utilized. This makes it a breeze to create entire dashboards in a short amount of time. I also like the customizability of Metabase, which, while not offering all the possibilities like Tableau, enables 95% of the needed visualizations and makes them sufficiently customizable.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

A few more visualizations and the output of specific query results in text boxes are only possible through workarounds. Heat maps are completely missing, but they are fundamentally important. Otherwise, I wish for a union feature in Questions.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Metabase, I visualize data from our DWH and answer complex questions for all departments of the company. It is intuitive for non-technical users and allows for quick dashboard creation for data analysts. Metabase is functionally between Tableau (complicated but comprehensive) and Looker (simple but lacking).

  ### 5. Powerful Customization for Data Visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo C. | Customer Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

What I like most about Metabase is that it can be customized. We have a large amount of data, and in Metabase we can choose which data to use, how to use it, and how to manipulate it. I think that is the most important thing.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

There is nothing I don't like so far

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Metabase to visualize data and clear dashboards, customize and share information with the team. It helps us make decisions by knowing how the metrics are doing, customizing them by individual and by topics such as sales and expansions. We also track sales visits in real time.

  ### 6. Easy SQL Querying with Seamless Snowflake Integration and Others tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Werleman T. | Business Intelligent Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

It’s easy to write SQL queries and integrates well with databases like Snowflake.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

I don’t find the design editor very user-friendly; I prefer working directly with SQL in the query editor for more flexibility and control.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enable teams across the organization to use Metabase independently, without relying on the BI team.

  ### 7. Seamless Reporting and Smooth Integration with Our Other Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna C. | Order Opener, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

It talks to our other softwares and makes reporting seamless.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

I'm not well versed in SQL, so I would like alternative coding systems.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a great source for collecting data. We use it to track every aspect of our business, including open, close, and cancellation rates, as well as counts by user and client.

  ### 8. Intuitive UI, Quick Setup, and Fast Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devansh G. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

intuitive UI, quick setup, easy dashboards, non-technical friendly, flexible queries, clean visualizations, fast insights

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

limited advanced analytics, dashboard customization constraints, slow with large datasets, basic visualization options, caching issues, permissions complexity

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

centralized data access, faster decision making, self-serve analytics, reduced engineering dependency, real-time insights, improved reporting efficiency

  ### 9. Intuitive and Versatile for Business Analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nehul M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

I like that Metabase is simple and can be used by both users who know how to query and those who don't, thanks to their dashboarding filter. It makes databases extremely easy to understand. I appreciate that the software is lightweight, works on the cloud, and it's very easy to configure reports. The setup is very intuitive and it's very easy to pull data and fetch databases, as well as configure the visibility of each database. So yeah, I'd say it's amazing.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

The visualization and dashboards could be better. I think the type of charts available could be better. Second is I think they don't have an integrated AI yet. So maybe an inbuilt AI to write queries would be good.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metabase solves the problem of business analytics and metrics availability, making data easy to analyze with simple querying, dashboarding, and reporting.

  ### 10. Lightweight BI Tool That Delivers Fast Results

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prayas D. | Project Manager, Logistics and Supply Chain, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Metabase?**

Metabase is easy to use and simple to implement, with strong core features that make data exploration quick. It helps teams get insights fast without heavy setup or complexity.

**What do you dislike about Metabase?**

Integration can be challenging, customer support feels limited, and I don’t use it frequently due to these gaps. It also struggles with advanced requirements, reducing its usefulness for deeper, scaled analytics.

**What problems is Metabase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metabase helps me quickly analyze business performance, track funnels, and monitor team productivity without complex tools. It centralizes our data into simple dashboards, enabling faster decision-making, reduced manual reporting, and clearer visibility into key operational and sales metrics.
