What do you dislike about Mercer Mettl Assessments?
TOTAL SCAM, terrible platform with no functionality, ZERO customer service. You will get scammed out of at least $500 and then have no way to get it back or even use their non-functioning site. Stay far away!!!
I am an employer and thought their assessments looked useful when I was hiring for a key position in my company. I paid the required $500 fee to get started, selected the tests I was going to use, and then nothing worked. All sorts of error messages, extremely buggy site, wasn't able to send the tests to the employee-- the website kept coming up with errors no matter what I tried. I reached out right away to customer service as I really needed the tests right away. They don't have a phone number available for US users (I quickly found out); only email. So I emailed them, let them know the issues and asked for help.
Long story short: They would usually respond quickly, using the same faux-friendly-sounding template responses saying someone from their team would get back to me "shortly." NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO ME TO ACTUALLY RESOLVE ANYTHING. EVER. I sent MULTIPLE friendly follow-ups and still got the EXACT same canned responses every time. It started to feel very scammy and I still strongly suspect this website is a scam. I let them know I needed to use the tests urgently and asked if I could call someone; they confirmed that they do not have a phone number available for support, but "someone from the team will get back to you shortly." They did ask for further evidence of the issues a couple of times, and I provided everything they asked for-- screenshots, descriptions, etc. I would send what they asked for, then they would-- once again-- never respond and never resolve a THING.
After several days of this, I finally had to sign up for a different testing site which worked perfectly and didn't have any bugs, errors or issues at all. It was user-friendly, worked, and worked RIGHT AWAY, which is what I needed. At that point, I asked for a refund of the $500, since I hadn't been able to use their platform and absolutely no actual help or support was given. They started giving me the same canned responses-- that "someone from the team will get back to you shortly," etc. This is when I started to suspect the website was a scam (and kicked myself for not recognizing that sooner, to be honest). Sure enough, even after waiting days, no one got back to me. I followed up again. They responded with the SAME CANNED RESPONSE THAT SOMEONE "WOULD GET BACK TO ME." (For literally about the 10th time, at least, since my communications with "the team" started.) I finally responded more firmly that this was unacceptable and I needed an immediate refund. Then someone else responded saying they would process the refund, that it "has already been processed internally," and some other BS. I checked my card, waited days, and sure enough-- still no refund. Followed up, same canned response that they "would get back to me," and no follow through. I let them know again I needed an immediate refund-- at this point, I had waited SIX WEEKS since first trying to use their platform, with over 10 responses telling me people would "get back to me," with them telling me multiple times they would give me a refund, that it had been "processed internally," but they needed to check with someone else for confirmation... SO MUCH BS, over and over and over again. SUCH A SCAM.
Now it's been THREE MONTHS and although I have followed up with them multiple times, still no refund. I question whether any of the "positive" reviews can be legitimate, because the site has ZERO functionality, their "team" is just a front with ZERO actual support or follow-through... I have never felt so scammed. After waiting for 6 weeks, I even tried disputing the claim with my credit card company, via PayPal, and 2 months after submitting that dispute, I am still waiting for it to be resolved-- PayPal still says it's "reviewing." Still can't get the $500 back and it is all SUCH A SCAM. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
