What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

I like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is its automated backup, version control, and compliance management for network device configurations. It simplifies change tracking, ensures configuration consistency, enables quick rollback during failures, and improves network stability and security with minimal manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

I dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is that the UI can feel complex when managing large networks, and initial setup for custom compliance policies takes time. Reporting and dashboard customization are somewhat limited, and some device templates require manual tuning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automated Backups and Seamless Multi-Vendor Management"
What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager (NCM):

Standout Strengths

Automated Configuration Backups

Automatically backs up device configs on a schedule

Makes it easy to restore configs after mistakes or failures

Big time-saver compared to manual backups

Clearly shows who changed what and when

Side-by-side config comparisons are easy to read

Very useful for troubleshooting and accountability

Compliance Management

Alerts you when devices drift out of compliance

Helpful for audits and regulated environments

Good choice if your network isn’t all one brand

Fits nicely with OpManager, ServiceDesk Plus, etc.

Good if your organization already uses the ManageEngine ecosystem

"Effortless Automation, Easy to use tool."
What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

I like the automation and centralized control in ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager. It automatically backs up device configurations, tracks every change, and makes it easy to roll back to a stable version if something goes wrong. The automation features save time by automatically backing up configuration, tracking changes, and pushing updates to multiple devices at once. I also appreciate the strong automation, reliable configuration backup, and useful compliance features that make daily network management easier. The initial setup is fairly straightforward for basic deployment, especially with the installation wizard and default settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

I think the ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager could improve its user interface, which feels less modern and can take time to get used to. The dashboard could be more modern and customizable with clearer visuals for device status, compliance, and recent changes. Navigation between modules sometimes requires multiple clicks, so a more intuitive menu structure or quick access shortcuts would help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid tool for automated network backups and maintaining multi-vendor compliance easily."
What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

Automated backups and the "Diff View" are life savers. It makes comparing config versions across our Cisco and HP switches incredibly fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

The UI feels clunky and dated. Pulling reports is slow, and advanced features are often hidden deep in menus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Automation and Intuitive Interface Save Hours"
What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

1. Automation of configuration backups

The system itself removes device configurations on a schedule — you no longer need to manually log in to each switch or router. It really saves hours of work.

2. Easy operation and user-friendly web interface

The interface is not overloaded, it is easy enough to understand even without deep experience in ManageEngine. Most of the functions are intuitive.

3. Mass modification (Config Push)

You can deploy the same configuration block to dozens of devices at once — ideal for mass updating of banners, passwords, ACLs, NTP, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?

Limited parsing and template capabilities

Automatic configuration parsing does not always work correctly with:

non-standard configs,

by specific vendors,

complex ACLs or firewall policies.

Sometimes you need to manually add templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
