## About Make and model recognition
Make and model recognition (MMR) is an AI-based software providing detailed vehicle classification. The product recognizes with extremely high accuracy the category, make, model, generation, variant and color of the captured cars from front, front-side, rear and rear-side views in day and night conditions. A unique feature of the product is the recognition of so-called TAGs, i.e. detection of emergency vehicles, fire brigade, pickup truck, taxis... the software can distinguish 20 such tags. It also recognizes objects from the field of softmobility, i.e. it is able to detect pedestrians, cyclists, animals, strollers and other trolleys. MMR is updated every six months to include newly launched car models from Europe, North and South America, East Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. Typical applications: e-tolling, traffic safety and surveillance, law enforcement, access control and parking management, police and governmental use, traffic infrastructure planning, smart city solutions, and more.

**What do you like best about Make and model recognition?**

As far as I know, Eyedea's MMR is the most detailed version on the market . To illustrate, according to their website, it recognizes 16 vehicle types, including vehicle 371 brands, 3005 models, 7830 generations and their corresponding variations, and colors.

Make and Model Recognition solves the problem of reliably identifying vehicles in situations where license plate recognition alone is insufficient, such as when plates are dirty, damaged, partially hidden, or unreadable due to weather, lighting, or camera limitations. By recognizing vehicle make, model, color, and type directly from visual characteristics, it provides an additional and often more stable layer of vehicle identification. This benefits us by increasing overall identification accuracy, improving automation and monitoring capabilities, reducing reliance on manual checks, and enabling more robust analytics and investigations in real-world, challenging environments.
