I have been using Lease Pilot for almost 10 years. I cannot imagine going back to drafting leases where all fields, exhibits, signature blocks, etc. must be inserted or typed manually. This tool has been a game changer. It has vastly increased the efficiency and speed with which I am able to draft documents. It has also allowed me to easily insure that my co-wokers and outside counsel are consistently using the same language for negotiated clauses. It is extremely easy to use. While Lease Pilot has made many advances and improvements in the past 10 years, it does not have the same ease of formatting and spell check as you find drafting documents in Microsoft Word. That said, the help desk/customer support is incredibly responsive when an issue arises and overall, the increased productivity vastly outweighs the minor nuisances that sometime arise with formatting. LeasePilot has streamlined our company’s lease drafting process, which has resulted in a significant increase in efficiency with the preparation of initial lease drafts within the LeasePilot platform (saving us anywhere from 1 hour for simple lease drafts, to 2+ hours for more complicated lease drafts). All of those hours add up quickly over the course of a year.

The platform is highly intuitive and simple to use, and even if an issue arises, LeasePilot’s customer service is excellent. They have a dedicated “help” button built into its platform that is available for all of the members of our team that use the platform, leading to prompt responses and resolutions to any of the infrequent issues that have popped up.

Our company was so satisfied with the use of the platform for lease drafting, that we elected to expand our use of the platform to the drafting of amendments (including assignments) and license agreements, and that election has resulted in an increase in efficiency in preparing those documents. As great as LeasePilot has proven to be in preparing the initial drafts of leases, amendments, and license agreements, the redlining feature provided within LeasePilot for handling subsequent drafts is not as user friendly and we generally have not utilized that feature. LeasePilot allows us to quickly draft retail leases once approved by our business team. Our turnaround time has been cut by more than 50%. We started with our base lease form and have worked with LeasePilot to add a number of custom provisions which we can easily import into our form. There are few if any downsides to using LeasePilot. Automated software is, of course, not a one size fits all solution. We can use LeasePilot to draft over 90% of our leases and lease amendments. LeasePilot makes document drafting easy by automating so many of the critical componants of each document. The Lease Pilot team is always considering new and useful ways to make efficiency even better throughout the software. Customer support is incredibly responsive and turnaround is fast.
