It's an outstanding software solution. Better yet it the support that we receive. We try not to be too needy, but when we have questions the Katana Team is right there! **What do you dislike about Katana Cloud Inventory?** As well integrated as Katana is, one thing I have noticed is that if my order information changes in Shopify, it is not pushed down to Katana. Example, I had a customer who sent an email, changed the items they order from Women's to Men's, we were able to make the change in Shopify, but when I checked the order in Katana it was not updated. I sent an email to our team and followed up to ensure they knew there was a change. **Recommendations to others considering Katana Cloud Inventory:** Do it. **What problems is Katana Cloud Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem we solved with Katana is inventory management. We began using Katana about six months ago and I would say that we are just started to more fully recognize the benefits. That is not a bad thing, we have been developing processes and using Katana to make our processes more efficient. We truly believe that Katana is a software that is able to grow with our business and we are very optimistic it. ### 7. This year we went from contract labor/paid-per-piece to employees/hourly-wage and Katana has made this a much smoother transition then it could have been. Having both "cost-per-piece" for assembly of items as well as "cost-per-minute" has given us the ability to compare former payment procedures with what to expect per hour from employees. **What do you dislike about Katana Cloud Inventory?** There are a variety of tasks that were unable to be done when we began using Katana in January 2019 but I am thrilled to say that most of them have been developed. The developers listen and are very attentive to requests, bug reports, and ideas and so despite the fact that some of the features were not available (exporting reports, importing recipes, etc.) they have added these and the software continues to grow. The next 3 features I'd love to see is (1) the ability to bulk export/print pdf MOs, etc. We were hoping to let go of Excel for much of our work load and have still had to rely on it for most of 2019, but with recent updates we will be able to use Katana almost exclusively soon for maintaining inventory and work load for employees. (2) The ability to bulk change the time a step in all the recipes takes. When you change a process among employees (like having them use a machine for a step instead of by hand) it changes the allotted time that step takes. There is no way to bulk change that in every recipe, so right now all 2000 of my Items have a step that is not accurate and adds additional time onto every estimate for employees. (3) We have some items "on hold" (not sent to distribution center yet) and we use Resources to specify ONHOLD-BIN221 etc. to know the status of any particular SKU completed. We'd prefer not to use different locations, but rather have the ability to add a couple more "status" options. Either a misc or a custom. For now, everything on hold gets marked BLOCKED status and then the Resource is used to say it's on hold in whatever bin. **Recommendations to others considering Katana Cloud Inventory:** For small businesses in need of taking your manufacturing process to the next step, Katana should be highly considered. For those with manufacturing processes who need efficiency, time tracking, costs tracking, inventory, etc. without the high cost of softwares built for multi-million dollar manufacturing warehouses. The Katana team is one of the most communicative and helpful group of developers I have ever worked with in over 20 years online. If the software is lacking any step you need they not only consider your requests but help you find a work around until the next update, which happens on a regular basis. **What problems is Katana Cloud Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** We maintain about 1500-2000 SKUS and all assemblers work at home. Some do different steps, returning work weekly and then having it distributed to the next person. Giving every MO an actual number has kept every bag of parts and supplies organized. We can track who has it, where it's at in the manufacturing process, etc. Even though we have used Katana since January, it's the last 3 months that it's really proven it's value to us. We do not use it for order fulfillment, just in-house manufacturing. But it's allowed us to prep for holiday season from July forward and stay completely organized and efficient. No more "where-did-it-go" or "how-many-have-we-prepped" frantic moments. We began the year knowing we needed a software that "fit" our company's size and our needs. Katana has proven invaluable for our company this year. We are currently doing our first complete inventory and we hope to add these numbers to Katana in 2020 and continue to improve our efficiency. ### 8. It follows a very natural, logical progression, so it is easy to pick up and implement. It covers everything a small business could need. The staff is extremely helpful and responsive as well. This helped very much with the implementation process. It also seems like they are listening to their customers and adding features as they become necessary. It is also quite affordable. Very fair price! **What do you dislike about Katana Cloud Inventory?** Although it is great that Katana syncs with Quickbooks, it does not allow you to have purchases made affect your inventory asset account (only your purchases expense account). Small things like this make it a not perfect system, but hopefully they can be improved soon. **Recommendations to others considering Katana Cloud Inventory:** Unless you are a huge company, Katana is a great resource. It is more robust that it looks. The easy implementation & helpful staff make the product worth it. **What problems is Katana Cloud Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our old inventory system was very hard to use, so the inventory was often not accurate. The main things we were looking for in an inventory system was: 1. easy to use, 2. robust enough for a small-medium size company to grow into, 3. allow you to track inventory to specific jobs/projects Katana allows us to solve all of these issues and more. ### 9. Through the visual management technique using colours (green, orange, red and grey) to represent the status of the order, you understand the order progress at first glance. Production tasks can be assigned to ressources, so you can always see the workload each worker has. This enabled a smoother distribution of production tasks across coworkers. **What do you dislike about Katana Cloud Inventory?** The price can be high for small, but is more than reasonable for bigger companies. The system at its core is very clean and easy to view and use. Customer service and support are wonderful feedback is almost always accounted for and new suggestions are added quickly **What do you dislike about Katana Cloud Inventory?** Sluggish with orders 50+ SKU's. To elaborate the system has to save each time a SKU is entered and confirm its on the server so adding new sku's instead of taking seconds takes 1-3min per sku waiting for the internal refresh(page save) to take place Missing key essentials for manufacturing such as item locations & scanner abilities with mobile devices or scanner guns. Needed Pick-List for all open manufacturing orders as well as individual pick lists for manufacturing orders. Inventory is allocated as soon as an order goes in, not when you actually click "make to order" making our inventory never accurate to what it actually is. No User Customization, cannot pick and choose what users see or can tweak, everyone essentially has "admin rights". At first with 10-15 work orders katana is manageable, with 40-100 sales orders it becomes to sluggish and harder to manage with the lag in adding a new sales order or new sku **Recommendations to others considering Katana Cloud Inventory:** Easy to get into but limited for bigger manufacturing. **What problems is Katana Cloud Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Organization manufacturing priorities inventory stocks ### 11. Once configured allows for greater organization of both inventory and dispatches, being deployed in the cloud and performing automated processes allows production management to have greater efficiency and inventory control is more controlled, leaving behind the paperwork, by or that additionally large in a favorable way the portfolio of customers of the companies as they can be delivered 24 hours a day, scheduling rotating shifts and flexible to workers. **What do you dislike about Katana Cloud Inventory?** It would be good to integrate an accounting tool, to process invoices and manage the cash flow of the company, ie a function responsible for finance, so that the program would be more comprehensive as we would have everything in a single software, plus the development of an application to access the system from anywhere, where we can verify in real time with comparative bases changes recorded in inventories, the status of shipments or orders, among other features. **Recommendations to others considering Katana Cloud Inventory:** Good tool, very efficient and at a very affordable price. **What problems is Katana Cloud Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have implemented it in our dairy processing plant, in which we dispatch from raw milk to other branches as processed products, we have rotating shifts and work 24 hours a day in order not to stop production, so this program was super adaptable to our production process from the arrime of raw milk or raw material to the dispatches everything is automatically updated with just a clip, which has greatly facilitated the work, our inventory is kept updated and we can submit it to an audit at any time. The fact that despite handling a wide variety of product and we can be sure that everything is under control and well organized has strengthened the team as well as the ability to visualize item or tasks in the pending systems motivates us to better perform our work, having as a back up an automated system that can generate very reliable reports. ### 16.
