Ohhhh man—those are the Boxes. Great product, and I’m really proud of them so far. They’re easy to deploy, and it’s easy to recover data despite all the usual disaster recovery challenges. \ One of our clients had a major crash, and we ran all of their machines for a couple of months directly from the backup device. We performed file recovery, iSCSI mapping, virtual machine recovery straight to the datastore, and used the virtual environment recovery as well. Support is also great: they respond very quickly, and during an outage, they’ll assist you throughout the recovery process. Recovering live to the cloud is nice too. We conduct recurring disaster recovery simulations for our clients and internally. We spin up machines locally every few months and then annually or biannually, depending on the client's needs, in the cloud, and test VPN connectivity, etc. It has always worked great so far. The system also performs daily boot tests on its own to make sure that if a crash happens, you'll at least be aware of whether your VM can boot or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Datto SIRIS? No real downside related to the item. Just make sure you get the correctly sized box for your needs and let it do its job. Any issues and tickets we’ve had—aside from a few disk drive changes—were related to things happening inside the OS being backed up, and even then, support was there to help. For MSPs such as VelzArt, that distinction is important because customers do not buy backups—they buy the assurance that they can keep working when something goes wrong. While Datto SIRIS is a strong BCDR solution, there are several aspects that would make me cautious, especially from an MSP perspective. The most important is Vendor lock-in This is probably my biggest concern.
