My first two projects were acceptable, especially the free trial one with watermarks that processed quickly. Then everything fell apart with my fourth project. The editor would get stuck "thinking" indefinitely, showing "one minute remaining" for hours. I lost all the projects from my second subscription month because I simply couldn't complete them. Technical support's response was frustratingly slow. Their solution? They offered to finish the project themselves, but the results were terrible. When I requested a refund, they only offered credits for their product - a surreal response considering the software clearly doesn't work. Why would I want more credits for a service that fails to deliver its basic functionality? Kapwing's customer service is as broken as their video editor. Kapwring is different from other video-making websites in that area because their selection is so broad and they are very generous with their free templates and free tools. **What do you dislike about Kapwing?** I truly can't think of much that I would consider a downside to using Kapwing from other such websites except if you are looking to upgrade to a Pro account, it's pricey at around $192.00 a year however, I haven't noticed a need to upgrade at this point because of their plentiful free templates and tool options. **Recommendations to others considering Kapwing:** If at first, the site doesn't seem as user friendly as you'd like or what you're used to by using other websites I would say just stick with it for a moment and everything will fall into place and you'll see how their site is set up, still making it user friendly, it just might not feel like what you are used to. I think they utilize great UX to simplify what used to be really complex tasks. I love that their free tier allows me to do so much. I used to have to jump from imovie to keynote to ezgif in order to make simple videos with audio, but now it literally just takes me 5 minutes to make a video and send it off to a client. **What do you dislike about Kapwing?** I don't like the timeline user experience. Trimming audio and video seems a bit rough and I have to frequently zoom into the timeline in order to make strategic clips. I also think that the timeline could have much more functionality such as fading audio. Fading audio is really important in the work I use kapwing for and would make my life a lot easier if that ability was built into the web application. **Recommendations to others considering Kapwing:** If you need to frequently return to our projects after a few days, it's best that you use a more premium tier because they lock your projects. This is fine for me, but may not be for others. **What problems is Kapwing solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kapwing is a one stop shop type of application. For my clients, I'm able to take my clients' visuals, add audio and trim the video to the exact length all within a couple of minutes. It takes up 0 space on my computer like all the apps I previously had to use. Teaching others to use kapwing is also incredibly easy. I shot a 5 minute loom video recently and onboarded another graphic designer so now we're making twice as many kaping videos for the company. ### 31. The editor interface, timeline, and customization settings for popular media types are versatile and functional. I haven't had any issues while creating and editing videos, GIFs, and files for content. **What do you dislike about Kapwing?** The only con to the tool would be the speed of uploading and final rendering. When exporting a file, GIFs and videos tend to take quite a long time to complete for download. **What problems is Kapwing solving and how is that benefiting you?** Editing videos, making GIFs, exporting into different formats. ### 32. This software is definitely one of the easiest video editing softwares you will find in the market to use. 2. A majority of its features are available for free, so 5/5 on value for money there. 3. The auto-subtitle feature is great. It helps you get started with 75% of the work and then you can simply edit it to have subtitles done in 1/4th the time. **What do you dislike about Kapwing?** 1. The software, atleast the main overall tool - Studio - is incredibly clunky. It is ridden with bugs. It also fails to save properly and you keep losing a bunch of your work. As an exmaple of its bugs, right now I am facing a problem where a trimmed portion of the video is showing up on the final export and the subtitles are all off-sync from it too. Exported it multiple times! Argh! 2. It provides zero indication if its actually doing any processing or not in the background and occasionally just "hangs". Which is weird for a software on the cloud. 3. An immense number of basic features are just pure lacking that I feel are necessary - an undo/history feature, transition features that are actually use-able, audio adjustment across layers, export of entire video's subtitle file (can only export individual layer). 4. The export quality simply is not high. Even when you choose the 1080p option. It also dampens the audio in the video for no reason! 4. Looking for its training center feels like a maze. Once you find it, there is a small bunch of tutorial articles that are decent but is the barest minimum you can think of. But beyond that, the resources section reads more like marketing material that gets ridiculous to go through! **What problems is Kapwing solving and how is that benefiting you?** Simply Video editing - easier option for subtitling ### 36. Also allow me to add subtitles to my video.
