The hierarchical structure of each JUNOS mode is composed of cascading branches of shared related functions. **Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Junos OS?**

The most fascinating feature about this OS was the ability to temporarily apply your changes (commit confirmed) for a fix time period and rollback which gives you the ability to verify your change before applying it permanently. In addition, it also gives you the ability to use routing, switching and firewall functions within a single platform which is really cost-effective for the end customer and one another thing I like about Junos is the JTAC support which is cost-effective in comparison to other vendors and efficient is support.

**What do you dislike about Junos OS?**

Based on my experience the response time for GUI is a little bit slow

**Recommendations to others considering Junos OS:**

If you are looking for a single device that is capable of handling routing, switching and firewall function, my recommendation is to go for Junos OS, with Junos OS you can have all those capabilities within a single platform and will be very cost effective. As a system integrator Junos OS multiple features in a single platform feature helps me to win a lot of customers due to its cost effective nature. It also provides a great configuration management feature by saving copies of your last few configuration changes which you can use in case of a rollback and helps you to track changes and in terms of device administration, it provides a GUI so engineers didn't require to be experts on the CLI.

**What problems is Junos OS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to use the Junos proxy-arp feature to hide my internal network from expose to other parties to improve security.
By using a single product I was able to implement routing, switching and firewall protection which was cost effective for the end customer and will reduce the no of hops which packets should travel which eventually will save a few ms to the end user.
