I said that because we always looking for a provider with on-site country support, but in this case JSCAPE help us to cross our boundaries. **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** In a few cases we find out issues that JSCAPE did not have solution yet, but just one issue (in almost 12 years using it) took much time to solve. **Recommendations to others considering JSCAPE MFT Server:** Maybe provide a cloud service like AWS or Azure **What problems is JSCAPE MFT Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** Migration to base system. We use directory monitoring so it will automatically run a trigger to move files to another network share every 20 minutes. We also use Trading partners for servers outside our organization to move files to our network shares daily. There are a ton of options with this product. This product saves admins a lot of time.. You just need the time to set it up and test but once its done, thats all there is to it. Support for this product is also amazing. The team gets back you very quickly and they are very knowledgeable. Ton of how to's and videos online as well. **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** I dislike that I have no time to play with all the options and I tend to jump to open a ticket just to resolve the issue fast. I think the interface looks kind of old fashioned. I wish maybe improve the look and navigation better. There really isnt much to dislike. **Recommendations to others considering JSCAPE MFT Server:** I recommend getting a demo on this product. Have some things in mind what you want to accomplish with this and have the sales team show you exactly how you would achieve what is needed for your organization. **What problems is JSCAPE MFT Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use this mostly to move file across network shares. FTP and SMB. Our next step is to make it a full SFTP server to replace our old one. The benifits are great because I was manually logging into file shares and copying every file to the appropriate folders. Our BI team is using it for their copies as well ### 3. Can easily manage trading partners storing the keys with the company, so there is only one location when a key needs updated. Our users against pre-existing protocols and grant access to remote services using our single sign-on account. **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** The only downside is having a standby server, the configuration does not synchronize well. After upgrading some of the functionality stopped working because we did not implement the product correctly. JScape's support was very helpful getting through the upgrade process. Exporting information from the MFT server seems limited. To accomplish this, choosing the backend datastore may pay a part. We have been able to put in workflow automation around this solution notifying business units in diverse ways. We are addressing who is accessing the files. We are also addressing a central repository for all file transfers to go through and standardizing many integrations, and the rules and governance around the information being sent and received. ### 4. When using HTTPS it is a simple elegant web site, for SFTP/FTP it is simple and workd well. However, dont be fooled, it is extremely powerful and feature rich, with scripting capabilities, riggers, and directory monitors. It is secure so my IT Security team like it, and our Auditors and Regultors like it. It has AD and Key authentication, which is perfect, and full audit trails. **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** Upgrades are not so straight forward, and Replication to Failover?DR servers can be complex. **Recommendations to others considering JSCAPE MFT Server:** Great product, easily best value for money in the industry for any software. My users love it, and it is used extensively becasue it is quick and easy to set up MFT solutions. I have been using JScape for at least 12 years now. **What problems is JSCAPE MFT Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** Audit Trails, AD sync, Web Site, SFTP/FTP and HTTPS used mostly - all of which would of taken ages to develop internally. It needed to be a fully secure service with Data held internally on LAN only, and externally just reverse proxy into LAN. Works from all our DMZs, and is used globally. ### 5. Anytime I have a question or a support issue, support has been quick and always has had a great solution. I have used some other MFT systems, but for the price point and the superior support, JSCAPE is currently my favorite. **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** I am running a bit behind on updates, so this should be taken with a grain of salt as it may not be true today. I have a hard time with administrative access to JSCAPE in that you can (could) only chose one login method... local, or ldap. You can not mix the two, so you can't have a "backdoor" admin account for emergencies, yet also have access provided per LDAP group at the same time. This is not a deal-breaker for us, and there are work-arounds. **Recommendations to others considering JSCAPE MFT Server:** They have trials out there, play with it, engage with a representative... JSCAPE is not the only player out there, but I think they are pretty darn good... and their support beats them all from my experience so far. **What problems is JSCAPE MFT Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a lot of internal and external uses for JSCAPE... some include facilitating file transfers between legacy applications that have no API or other integration support with each other. Some include trading encrypted/sensitive files between companies. The volume of files managed every day is not particularly high (about 2000) and once the triggers are set up, you can forget about the application. - Platform independent software - Centralized management of keys and all file transfer processes and their automation - easy to use application. - He is reliable and he does his job well. - Above all, it is stable so much that for the moment we have not considered using a failover node **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** It follows... the low code philosophy for the definition of the action “event oriented”. Sometimes everything appears a bit cumbersome in relation to the simplicity of the gol, but I think it's inevitable. He doesn't agree: - the high energies involved in trying to simplify the setup of the triggers and the writing of the “execute conditions”: with a minimum of logic, It doesn't seem very complicated to me. - The administration web interface must be reviewed in the organization: when the triggers start to be many, it is easily confused - Customer support responds quickly, but more "customer oriented” than solving the real technical problem. - There are many examples of practical use but the more conventional documentation is decidedly minimal - Debugging in general is not easy especially when it involves communication problems the messages are very generic ... if not cryptic. **What problems is JSCAPE MFT Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** Centralized organization of keys, protocol etc. and easy MFT management ### 7. It has options for encrypting and decrypting files so that transfer is done in a secure way. The option for adding own logo on the login page and different options for login like password, captcha. We really liked the price, well before they were bought by a new company and jacked it up like 400%. When I evaluated other companies ro replace this one, again they do tick a lot of boxes, so that is surely a positive. The only one was not doing encrypted file storage like I wanted. You can setup a PGP key pair to encrypt specific files for specific vendors, but that key management is a complete nightmare. **What do you dislike about JSCAPE MFT Server?** Program-wise: the UI is not great in the web browser having odd quarks, it is Java-based which as a security person I do not love. The customer service before was also much to be desired. I cannot even begin to tell you how unhappy we are with this company right now. We had a renewal date that was like 1 week away, and they dropped in and told us they were giving us more options we did not use and charging us around 400% more than before. Sure, we could have switched over to a new program and not paid that extra money, but they gave us almost not time to even switch. The Sales people that let us know all this said, they would give us some time to switch if needed, but would not commit to any timeframe. How many orgs can switch out an SFTP in less than a month, what about 2? The topper is that we were hoping for just a year locked in at this 400% fleecing, but they required us to do 3 years. Stay away from this shady company. They may make the product better with all the money they just took from us and assuming every other active subscriber, but they may not. **What problems is JSCAPE MFT Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is our SFTP, and as such it transfers file securely to your external parties.
