What I like best about JFrog is how it simplifies the entire artifact management process in one place. Managing dependencies, builds, and releases becomes much more organized and reliable, especially when working across multiple environments and teams. It reduces a lot of manual effort and helps keep deployments consistent.

One challenge with JFrog is managing repository storage as artifacts grow over time. However, implementing automated cleanup policies and regular monitoring helps keep repositories organized, optimize storage usage, and maintain smooth CI/CD performance.

**What do you like best about JFrog?**

I like JFrog for its seamless integration with CI/CD tools and the central management it offers for artifacts. Additionally, the performance is reliable, and the user interface is intuitive, making version control and dependency management straightforward. **What do you like best about JFrog?**

I use JFrog Artifactory as the central place for all our build artifacts and Docker images. The universal support for basically every package type, like Docker, npm, and PyPI, is great because we're not juggling different tools for different formats. I love how it stops our artifacts from being scattered across random registries and everything is now in one versioned place, which makes tracing a broken build much easier. The way it proxies and caches our external dependencies has saved us during public registry outages, and its vulnerability scanning is a nice bonus. Xray's vulnerability and license scanning features are valuable because it runs automatically, saving us from manual audits. The setup for remote/virtual repositories effectively handles proxying and caching, preventing builds from breaking during registry hiccups. The REST API integration into our CI pipelines was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, JFrog stays out of the way, and once it's set up, I don't really think about it, which is the highest compliment I can give infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about JFrog?**

The admin and permission side can get clunky. Setting up repo permissions across multiple teams and projects took more trial and error than I expected, and the UI for that part feels a little dated compared to how polished the rest of the platform is. Storage costs also crept up faster than we anticipated once we started keeping more Docker image versions around. Adding to that, onboarding new people onto it is not super intuitive. There's a real learning curve before someone feels comfortable navigating repos and permissions on their own.

**What problems is JFrog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

JFrog stops us from having artifacts scattered across registries, centralizing everything for easy tracing of builds. It shields us from public registry outages and rate limits, saving time. The vulnerability scanning with Xray is invaluable for our AI pipelines, and its universal package support simplifies our workflows.

**What do you like best about JFrog?**

I like the universal package management feature of JFrog, as it really makes life easier for us. We were pushing Docker images, Helm charts, Maven artifacts, and packages, and having a centralized system saves us a lot of time and configuration overhead. Furthermore, the initial setup was pretty easy, thanks to the help from the professional services and onboarding teams.

**What do you dislike about JFrog?**

I think there is room for improvement in the areas of permission and onboarding. The permission targets and the role-based access control models are powerful but can be overly complex sometimes, making managing permissions a bit complicated. The UI responsiveness could also be better. Additionally, I find the pricing for smaller teams to be an issue. The cost difference between basic usage and enterprise functionality is hard to justify, particularly for smaller teams, and I think this could be looked into by the CFO.

**What problems is JFrog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I rely on JFrog for universal package management. It centralizes docker images, home charts, and Maven artifacts into a single source, eliminating manual tasks and multiple registry tools, saving a lot of configuration overhead and simplifying our work.

**What do you like best about JFrog?**

I use JFrog mainly for enterprise artifacts management, especially within DevOps and CICD environments. I like the straightforward representative management which makes it easier to maintain different versions of artifacts and control access across different teams. I appreciate that the integration in our pipeline supports automation, as well as artifact upload, download, and deployment processes. The driver tokens make artifact management and integration interesting. Overall, using JFrog has been a strong solution for time management and logs, especially in a DevOps setting.

I find the user interface and overall user experience lacking at times, especially when I work with a large number of repositories and artifacts. Better search filtering, visibility into artifacts, and lifecycle management would make the experience even better.

**What do you like best about JFrog?**

The thing that I appreciate most about JFrog is its efficiency in managing artifacts, distributing software, scanning for security vulnerabilities, and handling DevOps practices in one single platform without adding any extra operational complexity.

In rapidly scaling engineering setups, where there is constant creation, deployment, and management of cloud-based applications from multiple engineering teams, having control over software packages, their dependencies, and the release pipelines has been a challenge. JFrog has been immensely useful for streamlining and improving the entire software delivery lifecycle.

The ability to manage artifacts and packages via JFrog Artifactory stands out as one of the main advantages for me.

Performance and scalability have also been strong in my experience, particularly when handling large-scale artifact storage, container registries, and high-frequency deployment pipelines.

**What do you dislike about JFrog?**

Dislikes about JFrog include its complexity to be configured and managed in large environments with customized CI/CD workflows. In other words, while the platform is indeed very useful and powerful in enterprise DevOps and artifact management use cases, at times it could be somewhat complicated to set up.

One particular difficulty I've encountered is the necessity to understand various aspects of repository management, including permission handling, pipeline integration, and software supply chains. It becomes somewhat burdensome to onboard engineers into using the platform if there are not so many of them or their background is somewhat simple.

In terms of usability and user experience, one might say that the platform is very efficient and offers lots of opportunities but some administrative functions may come as challenging. Namely, working with multiple repositories, access controls, and distributed environments at once can require certain skills and experience.

Finally, I would mention some of the difficulties I had with some of the integrations and automation processes. While JFrog works excellently within different CI/CD ecosystems in general, it might take some effort to make the most out of advanced workflow configurations and automations.

**What problems is JFrog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, our development process had an inefficient workflow of artifact storage, dependency management, and CI/CD pipeline. As applications were delivered on cloud, microservice, container, and cross-team levels, it was very hard to maintain transparency and governance of software packages and releases.

The biggest advantage I found with JFrog is its ability to manage artifacts and packages through JFrog Artifactory. Previously, we had to manage different repositories and track dependencies manually, but now it’s way more organized. It's pricing is also balanced.

**What do you like best about JFrog?**

JFrog work well for me.Mainly because I noticed a lot of improvement in our build and deployment process due to the centralization of all resources. We had different artifacts and different version numbers of packages before, which created confusion regarding which build to use. In JFrog, I was able to upload all artifacts in a single place and link them to my CI/CD processes. Also, the repositories used here included build packages as well as container images, and I found it very easy to troubleshoot any issues with the deployed build by referring to the version history.

**What do you dislike about JFrog?**

The first configuration was a lot harder for me to configure than anticipated. I still vividly recall spending hours comprehending the organizational structure of repositories, permissions, and the classification of various packages. As soon as I began to have many repositories, it took consistent effort on my part to maintain their organization or else they would easily get disorganized. I further realized that there were portions of the interface that were not as user-friendly as I would expect them to be, such as switching from one repository to another or dealing with access problems.

**What problems is JFrog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using JFrog, the builds and dependencies were done in an uncontrolled fashion that led to problems with consistent versions and reliable deployments. There were instances where the various environments had different packages causing the debugging process to be much more difficult than it ought to have been. The use of JFrog for artifact management made it easy to keep track of the deployed version as well as its origin point. This made it possible to avoid deployment errors that could have easily occurred otherwise.

**What do you like best about JFrog?**

What I like most about JFrog is how it centralizes everything related to software packages and artifacts in one place. That consolidation has made our release process far more organized and dependable. Instead of juggling packages across multiple repositories, we can store, version, and distribute them from a single platform, which makes deployments noticeably smoother.

A feature I rely on often is Artifactory’s support for multiple package formats. Whether we’re working with Docker images, Maven, npm, or other package types, it all gets handled in a consistent way. Integrating it with our CI/CD pipeline was also straightforward, and once it was connected, it automated a lot of the manual steps we used to do ourselves. As a result, we’ve saved time and seen fewer deployment mistakes.

From a UI standpoint, the interface feels clean and easy to navigate. Finding artifacts, checking versions, and managing repositories doesn’t require digging through complicated menus, which is especially useful when we’re troubleshooting build issues.

Performance has been strong as well. Uploads and downloads are fast, and we’ve rarely run into downtime or delays, even when multiple developers are working at the same time. That level of reliability gives us more confidence during releases.

I’ve also appreciated the documentation and onboarding experience. There are plenty of guides and examples, so getting started wasn’t difficult, and when we’ve needed support, the responses have been helpful and knowledgeable.

Another feature that has added value is JFrog’s AI-powered security and intelligence capabilities. The platform helps surface vulnerabilities and provides useful insights into dependencies, making it easier to identify potential risks early in the development lifecycle instead of discovering them later during deployment.

One unexpected benefit has been improved traceability. Being able to quickly see where artifacts came from, which versions were deployed, and how everything ties together has made debugging and auditing much easier than it used to be.

Overall, JFrog has streamlined our development workflow, improved collaboration across the team, and reduced the time we spend managing artifacts manually. While it’s a premium product, the time savings, automation, reliability, and intelligent security insights have made it a worthwhile investment for our team.

**What do you dislike about JFrog?**

As artifact storage scales, licensing and infrastructure costs can become quite high, often requiring significant compute resources and strict cleanup policies to avoid storage bloat. On top of that, the artifact search can feel slow when you’re working with very large repositories, and multi-region replication sometimes experiences minor synchronization delays that can temporarily slow down localized CI/CD pipelines.

The AI catalog for governance was expected for a long time, but they introduced it after quite some waiting time. The JFrog ML for MLOps workflows were quite helpful in handling the mlops workloads and the AI assistant has matured good lately.

They should have caught up with the AI wave quite early but took some sweet time to get the AI catalog to production grade. AI assistant was also like basic chatbot in the initial versions (though its improved a lot recently), they must plan their releases with solid capabilities.

Sorry but don't have in depth knowledge, so cannot talk about that. The UI is okiesh, I think the authentication workflow could be improved. I see within few minutes my session expires and have to relogin.

I use JFrog mainly as an artifactory for Docker images and npm packages. I love its universal package management, and my favorite feature is virtual repositories, which provide my team with a single URL for all our dependencies. I really appreciate how well JFrog integrates with the rest of our 2026 stack, especially GitHub Copilot. JFrog's curation is excellent for blocking malicious zero-day packages before they can even hit our local cache. Using the JFrog app for GitHub, I can link my source code directly to the final binary, making traceability automatic. The 2026 stack integration allows me to see security alerts directly in my IDE, so I don't have to switch to a dashboard. Lastly, the technical setup through Docker was a breeze.

I dislike the false positives and high entry fee. The configuration setup was a bit of a maze.

I think it does a lot more as a repository management system. I based msr 2 and 3 and frog artifactoey definitely does a lot more than msr. Not sure about msr 4 since its built on top of harbor.

I think Jfrog Artifactory offline mode can be complex like any airgapped deployments. Haven't touched it in couple years though.

I also did struggle with deployment when I tried few years back. The deployment guide was complex even for someone with 3 to 4 years of technical experience.

The only problem jfrog is solving for use Mirantis people i guess is being able to perform A/B testing and compare how MSR 4 stacks up to jfrog artifactory.

The main advantage is its universal repository support, which allows you to connect different artifact types such as Docker, Apache Airflow, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure.

Even though JFrog is open source, I find that the free plan comes with too many limitations compared to the paid plan. It only supports Java/C++, doesn’t include security scanning (Xray), and offers no HA clustering. Storage is capped at 25GB, and it also lacks key enterprise features such as SSO and artifact replication.

**What problems is JFrog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned before, JFrog addresses fragmented artifact management by offering a centralized, universal repository for all package types. It also helps reduce DevOps bottlenecks by enabling self-service team provisioning and supporting faster onboarding.
