"iWave is my current go to for Research and Wealth Screenings"
5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

I am the primary user and have been using iWave for over 10 years, both at my current position and my previous one. I use iWave almost daily. I believe that the information from iWave is more accurate than any other platform I have used. I have used 2 other platforms in my career.

Their screening services are very easy to use. The template allows for additions based on the information in our CRM.

Exporting the data is easy and the information is simple to edit and the reports in PDF form allow me to work them into usable profiles, although I do with there was more customization allowed. The giving history seems to be very inclusive of what I can find and more.

Finding properties is always daunting and iWave is able to connect the address to LLC's. Property values are within acceptable ranges as to what is found in other Sources.

I like that their smart alerts are on going, once you opt in. It allows me to see any new information on my donor/prospect as it comes up.

Customer support is top notch. I work with Jaxon to go over tools or areas that I may need clarification with. He was a great asset when I was first using the product. He showed me how easy batch screenings are to upload and review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

When using iWave, I would like the ability to add or remove from the Board Highlights section. That is the only section I have found where editing is not allowed.

I wish that there were more options for the profiles. Options that would allow me to customize so they are not so cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"360 Search and Screening Provide a Strong Research Baseline"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

The 360 search is what I use most because it gives me a good baseline to start from. The screening product works well for us and I like having access to the foundation research as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

I would like to be able to do an exact name search - it seems to search only on the first 2 letters of the first name so brings up many false hits.

I would love to be able to search by metropolitan area.

I'm not a fan of the alerts service - I haven't found it intuitive to use.

I'm also not a fan of the obituaries - it doesn't seem to find many. I would love a more robust search with more results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Easy Real Estate Lookups with Seamless “Add to Profile” in iWave"
5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

The feature I like best about iWave is the real estate look-ups. I like how easy it is to see the current owner, property details, and the transaction history. I've also noticed that iWave updates property ownership faster than some of the other resources (i.e., showing the current owner when a property was recently sold). I also really like how I can easily add real estate to a wealth profile using the "Add to Profile" feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

There are times when the real estate transaction history is incomplete or doesn't go back far enough. I've also noticed times when iWave doesn't have a comprehensive list of all donations to other organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful iWave/RFM Insights, but Profile Exports and Navigation Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

I like the integrational scoring (iWave and RFM) that accompanies profiles as well as the additional research sources readily available to contribute to the profile. I like having it as a database available to sit next to my CRM in a separate screen. The prices fit into my budget; it has assisted me with major gift portfolio reviews, and has also helped with gift strategy conversations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

The profile exports are horrible to look at. Also, I am still trying to figure out how I can navigate between the static profiles built from bulk screened batches and better source/segment/update them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"360 Search Makes Finding New Information Effortless"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

The ease of finding new information. The 360 search is an amazing feature to start your research! We use iWave alongside DonorPerfect but we chose not to integrate them for a variety of reasons. The screening can be set up in such a way that it works very well with DonorPerfect. The iWave team has been very helpful in getting us set up and ready to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

I guess that matching records could be a bit more accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Integrations That Save Research Time and Find Like-Minded Supporters"
4/5
What do you like best about iWave?

It is most useful for determining like minded folks and affinity for similar causes and for cutting down research time by a great margin with the built in integrations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

Like most of these platforms their capacity ratings seem to not be something that is super useful. its good for an idea but basing someones giving capacity on their homes value is a bit difficult. Seems to be heavily based on real estate, which I get but not the most accurate representation of someones wealth for our purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Prospect Research with iWave"
5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

I find iWave very easy to use, more than any other tool I use, especially with its quick search feature. I just put in a name, country, and state, even if I don't know where they live, which is the best part of the tool. Also, being able to find foundations linked to an individual is huge, especially now with the philanthropy transitions from parents to children and foundations. The initial setup was super easy, and we got great support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

I would say probably the updating aspect could be improved. I wish it would send an email that I log in to, and then it would have a list of the changes before and after, so I could prioritize my time and decide which ones I should focus on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Top-Tier Prospect Research Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

iWave is, in my opinion, the top of the line prospect research product. It provides the most information and most accurate information on individuals. There are so many ways to search - I love that I can reverse search and see what donors are giving to a certain nonprofit. Or I can search a specific person to drill down. The wealth screenings are of course an invaluable tool.

I can't remember a time that I've had glitches or performance issues - it is a reliable product that I used daily. The staff at iWave is super helpful as well. I haven't used any of the integrations - I'm not totally sure what would be available / helpful to me as a consultant. I think so! I run a lean operation - iWave is one of my only business expenses. I couldn't do my work without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

The wealth screening outputs are thorough but a bit overwhelming. With 60+ columns of data to sort through, it takes some time to make the raw data digestible for a fundraiser to use. The summary document that accompanies the screen is good, but not great.

Of course there are the run of the mill prospect research issues - similar names throwing off the screen / smart search features, etc. -- these things, which are a natural part of human research, make me nervous to use an AI features. That said, for the most part I have very few qualms with iWave. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Accurate Research with Great ROI and Responsive Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iWave?

I love being able to take one snippet of information that I have and use the tools within iWave to confirm or deny the existence of or create a more well rounded picture of the donor or business or foundation that I'm researching. The user interface is intuitive and the results are relatively accurate. The pricing is fair for the return on investment. We haven't had any performance or integration issues and customer support is responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

I do not get good look alike audiences. The prospecting features don't seem to work for us and the obituary feature doesn't pick up most rural or small town news articles that list those, only major national databases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Donor Search and Prospecting Made Easy with iWave"
4/5
What do you like best about iWave?

iWave is a very comprehensive tool for donor research and prospecting. I love iWave's 360 Search for deep dives into specific donor prospects. One simple search returns all possible matches across all of iWave's datasets, allowing me to easily put together a profile manually. Their Smart Search feature is also really helpful for quicker research and profile creation. I also really appreciate the customization options iWave provides, which enable us to tweak our results to match our business model. Full screens are quick and easy to submit in the platform. Finally, Live Profiles are a newer feature that I really appreciate and use often, which allow profiles to be kept up-to-date when new records are added to iWave database. This is super helpful for ongoing campaigns and selected profiles from getting stale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iWave?

Some prospects with common last names (ie. Johnson, Smith, etc) come back as false positive scores in a screening project. These must be reviewed manually to determine if they are actually a strong prospect or if the system assigned the wrong records to their profile. Certain datasets have a strong influence on the scoring (ie. foundations they serve on frequently determine their affinity rating and overall iWave score). I'd also say that the system's behavior when re-screening prospects that were previously screened in the past could be improved, as sometimes duplicate profiles are created and it's more difficult to assign labels to keep these profiles organized.
