IONOS 1&1 Domains and hosting Reviews & Product Details

We can search really easily, add to cart and it keeps your privacy for free so you don't get 10,000 solicitations after buying a domain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They have security checks afterward where they ask for a ton of information and no explanation and if you respond their customer care via email is really, really rude. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that 1&1 has been around for a while and is a widely known and respected. There is only so much I can assess based on experience, so reading great things about other people's experiences gives me high confidence in doing business with 1&1. As far as their services, I like their basic hosting plans, which include most of the vital tools we need to host websites and email. The email accounts work relatively well. We don't experience much delay when sending and receiving emails. The general pricing at 1&1 is decent and they regularly offer promotions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Though 1&1's customer support is generally nice and knowledgeable in some areas, they seem quite limited when it comes to helping us with specific problems related to performance. It would be great if they can take closer looks at certain aspects of our overall setup, installed applications and code that might cause functionality problems. We also had some problems with databases that took us a long time to figure out on our own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I bought a lot of domains in 1&1 and they have the best prices in the market. They offer almost all types of domains. You can choose to pay yearly or monthly. They offer the option to buy one year without automatic renewal. I had problems with other domain providers because they kept charging after the domain was canceled but I haven't had issues with 1&1 at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only issue I had was that they took 1 day to respond to my request but everything else was fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I liked that it was a cheap first year and cheap domain, email and website included Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The email was clunky. Customer service was 6/10. the hold hosting service went down a few times in the 3 years I was with them. Have since switched to Gsuite Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the free credit that they offer at IONOS for trying their Cloud Server packages. I greatly like the flexible cloud server package, which enables you to upgrade and downgrade your server, pending upon your needs, at anytime. I love their other products like domain names, SSL certificates and office tools. Amazing customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Billing option are rigid. Sometimes they do charge for items you have decided not to renew. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

At AME, we love the simple domain name and website hosting for our youth group. We needed a domain and site to portray AMEetings, and 1&1 was the cheapest and fastest solution to do so. We like how the site gives our group an easy way to express what we do. It also allows people to sign up fast, logging into a domain name that they are likely to remember for years to come. It speaks better than any Facebook page could. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We dislike how the static site could not be viewed properly once uploaded; we had to upload our static site onto Netlify and make a meta-redirect HTML page so that people who log onto our youth group page, www.ameetings.club, would be able to view the site properly. We believe that the reason why the site could not be viewed properly once uploaded is that there was a complicated script that was detected as malware when really it wasn't. Setting up email on accounts like Outlook is fast and the support provided by 1 & 1 support services is effective. if there is a problem with spam and email errors, the support is very responsive. The accounts can be easily configured from the online console (setting the antispam and the built-in antivirus). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We would like a finer management of the antivirus and anti-spam filters. Filter rules are sometimes too strict and you may lose emails with too restrictive security policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You just need to worry about your website content, updates and administrative work is on their hands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They offer many attractive services, but they are a little bit costy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The pricing was unbeatable when price shopping domains at a yearly rate. The rate hasn't gone up either which has been awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes the customer service takes a bit of time to get back to you, but once they do it's helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been a 1&1 customer for 15 years and though I've grown into many contracts, they've allowed me to keep my legacy contract in place at the same pricing I started with. They offer many hosting options and are fairly easy to get setup with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The support has sometimes been hit or miss. Generally, things work as they should, but the support in the shared hosting tier is not always very helpful. Once you get into the VPS or Server support tier, their support has been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
