Interface makes the tool very easy to use
Support team is responsive and very helpful
Training provided was very comprehensive
Easy to update when changes to current formulas are required

If the intent is to have Business Users (e.g.: folks with zero technical knowlege) updating and creating logic on the tool, be aware that it will be difficult for them to do so. You'd need someone who's technology savvy, maybe an IT Business Analyst to be trained and in charge of those updates.

It requires very little training for anyone to pick up and be confident with. Performance is also very good. Once people gets acquainted with inRule, use cases for it explode.

Nothing really. There are a few additions that could be incorporated such as the ability to control better what services to publish to further facilitate integration on top of the default rule engine execution restful Web service. Very good work!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis T. | Regional Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2020

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Flexibility and a very low barrier of entry for commercial team to:
- tweak business rule parameters
- create new logic
- advance logic through external API integration
- capability for debugging

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Loading/checking in of changes on rule apps can be slow if you have a huge ruleset, but that's independent of the rule execution speed

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our pricing platform is driven on inrule.
Having it as the decision engine is a great enabler as our analysts can directly update business strategy without the need to go through dev team.
We also use it as a testing ground for new business logic, and when the proof in sales come it we decide whether to keep the existing logic or deploy more tailor-made code.

  ### 13. Very Easy to Use and Powerful. Good BI tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

inRule is a good BI tool. Based on my experience is more than decision maker tool. At beginning, we use inRule is for decision maker feature and easy to use. And later, we realize it can do more such as Data analyze and a bit machine learning.
If inRule can supports schedule jobs to trigger rules which will be great helpful.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 14. Reliable and Effecient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** phanindra n. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2020

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Being a developer and technical lead for InRule, it is a boon. The way it makes life easy by doing all the dirty work in the back ground and gives the user minimal work to write the actual logic yet not comprising the quality is top class.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Nothing much, but need to have more flexibility in Programming the entities and need more intellisense and examples. Need more debugging capabilities.

Huge scale of applications are processed with the Inrule every second thus increasing the scale of the project.

  ### 15. Easy, Fast and Profitable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The flowcharting system and the ability to create models.

Its interesting yet there's other softwares, freewares that can do each of the things performed by this software, maybe except one or two but still. Consider this.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Might still be complicated for simple minded people.

The interface should get further simplified and common tasks automated even further.

You should only provide an online installer also I suggest increasing the trial time, it takes time to understand if you really need this software or not. Also, consider that simple minded people might require more time learning how to use it and consider it worth the investment.

Give them time to grow affectionate :)

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

It's an interesting software, not exactly revolutionary but definitely time saving.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the hands of someone who knows how to use the software, Barium is definitely handy and powerful tool, however, you must consider that most people do not have any skill, thats why they end up looking for this kind of software in the first place.

Professionals that would look after this software only to save time are much less than skill-less ones trying to find a cheap solution to their lack of knowledge.

  ### 16. Great rules engine for Specialty Insurance application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie K. | SVP, Technology and Product Management, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2019

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Our business needed a very flexible rules engine able to handle complex rules for a diverse set of insurance products. InRule has been just that for us.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Rules configuration needs to be done by product management folks in IT - too technical for business users, but we knew that going in.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are doing Auto-Rating and automatic processing of Underwriting rules using InRule. This has given us:
 1. Significant automation lift/Underwriting cost reduction/faster quote turn-time to customers
 2. Speed to market for new/updated products by handling rules through configuration vs. code
 3. Increased overall quality/consistency of our Underwriting

  ### 17. Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2019

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Intuitive point and click coding.
Gives business users extreme flexibility to build all sorts of logic.
Allows the business to very quickly response to changes in the marketplace.
Easy to pick up. ie. new learners can very easily figure out how decision tables work

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

User Interface requires lots of improvement.
Experience users will come across a lot of idiosyncrasies within irAuthor.
User experience leaves a lot to be desired. ie. Lots of lag, say when updating a variable name, adding a column to decision tables, when dealing with massive rule applications.
Not able to test logic in isolation, esp UDFs.

Difficult to master.

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

Probably the best BRMS I have seen.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pricing, Search, Payments, Routing, Cross-Sell services etc
We have seen increase in revenue, more accurate searches and so on.

  ### 18. Forget about homebrewing your own Rule Engine - Get InRule instead

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Fast ramp-up, since it is logically architectured. Great support from all levels of InRule employees, from pre-sales to support to trainers.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Consumption-based pure-SaaS offering not yet available, but I heard it is on their radar

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

Involve their Professional Services team early to implement best practices early in the life of the project

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very few businesses have static and simple business rules. If you do, you don't need InRule or any other Rule Engine for that, but for the rest of us mortals who have many many non-simple and ever-changing rules, then InRule is the tool to have. Also once set up, it removes the burden from IT to maintain the rules, handing the responsibility safely over to Business, where it belongs. That benefit alone, is good enough reason to get InRule.

  ### 19. Rules Engine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2018

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The product is easy to work with. You need to have a technical understanding, but you do not need to be in IT to work with the rules and authoring.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

We are on an older version and need to upgrade.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are integrating the tool into our technical applications. With this process, we are able to let the business teams manage the rules while integrating with the technical applications.
