## InRule Reviews
  ### 1. Amazing tool to get the job done

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremiah C. | Systems Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about InRule?**

What I like best about InRule is it's ease of access and it's ability to scale with every growing projects. The community is a joy to be a part of and the passion that the InRule team displays is but a small glimpse into their core value.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

While InRule has brought a lot of positive changes to our organization there is still room to improve when it comes to official available documentation. Occasionally, there is a lack of resources available to quickly solve a challenge without needing to contact the InRule support team which can be a hurdle for new members in their journey to master InRule.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our need to process medical cases and sorting them based on the yearly changing specifications.

  ### 2. InRule brings efficiency

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule has been very easy to digest and learn as a new user. I have created new rules for my position very quickly, and find it easier to explain the logic and syntax of the rules to others who do not work in InRule.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Sometimes it is a little confusing to navigate around all the menus and find the tool I need. There is also a lack of documentation especially when new users are initially learning the tool, but I have figured it out through others and exploring myself.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The previous way of documenting and storing rules was very inefficient. After integrating InRule into our system we have been able to more effectively create, modify, and run these rules that we need.

  ### 3. Excellent business rules engine for integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Ability to integrate with external apps, including bpm tooling, snowflake, sales force. Ease of irAuthor creation and maintenance of business rules. Vendor support is always available as well.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

As a business workflow administrator of inRule, there are no downsides in my opinion at this time.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration with bpm tooling to provide functionality for complex business rules.

  ### 4. Enables what we thought was impossible

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sushmita B. | Salesforce Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule operates within functionalities that our organization previously considered unworkable. My focus was on the areas of Quote, Quote Line, Account, and Subscriptions. The system retrieves all interconnected records, applies filters and conditions, and then presents the results.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

During my experience with InRule, I encountered a cycle time error. This type of error can stem from various reasons. However, to provide a precise understanding of the issue, it would be beneficial to display a specific error message that corresponds directly to the particular problem at hand.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule successfully resolved our challenge related to QuoteLine/Product configuration. It played a crucial role in limiting users from adding specific quantities or combinations of products to a quote. This was achieved by conducting comprehensive checks across our entire customer base.

  ### 5. Onboarding and response from InRule was fast and always helpful.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The flexibility and not restrictive on how it is leveraged. Did not feel like we were limited to the specific project or body of work that we had purchased it for.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The reporting abilities were much more restrive and not very useful compared to what we were told. Enhancing the reporting or making it well known that a separate tool like PowerBI would be needded for any indepth reporting.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to leverage it for providing employee information for specific processes. The data resided on prem, which InRule would run against. We later discovered we needed to use an hosted DB for our goal. This prevented us from moving forward as it required more resources from our teams.
Also had hoped to address legacy applications that have our business rules hard coded. This would have worked well in creating the rules in InRule and providing a lean process that reduced errors and increased efficiencies. However, we need dedicated resources and had assumed the management and creation of a working solution wouldn't require this level of support. It is a great product that has almost endless possibilities but if there isn't a very specific use case and plan, it is overwhelming. This is only my opinion and I was not directly involved in the work after purchase.

  ### 6. Enabler of transparency and simplicity in the complex development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zaneta Karolina L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

You don't need to be a super developer or have programming skills to build useful useful solutions. Personally, I love InRule (Barium) and the possibilities it provides. I have worked at company with 55,000 employees where we were able to build solutions that make it easier for employees to handle complex administrative process like hiring or conference bookings, etc resulting in great time and money savings. The tool has great potential in building IT solutions, functions, connections that are missing in the existing business systems, but also creates a structured way of working that provides a basis for optimizing resources and a higher understanding of what we do and how we do it, who is responsible, what is the need and what is the result.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

I cant say what i dislike...I don't think I've discovered the whole potential :) but mayby some things that can benefit the customer.I would like to see even better support and flexibility in the design of process images ,forms, lists, but also solid teams that can help organizations develop when resources within organizations are lacking, instructions in other languages. Mayby possibilities to collaboration opportunities, sharing solutions that paid off, more tips, best practice.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use InRule both to draw processes and develop process applications. It helps us to show what we do, how we do it but also build structured ways of working which contributes to efficiency

  ### 7. Inrule Process automation - Low Code when it's the best!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Agneta O. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

As a low-code tool Inrule Process automation really helps VGR to release new applications fast with help of our internal customers. The customers can also fill in the gap with an application that is build just as they want it. The process automation tool fill in the gaps that is not even possible to do with an ERP - systems since there is no ERP - system that is built for every business case. The Process engine has a really good design and is intuative and the customers always like to se their thoughts vizualised during workshops. With the list the customers can then follow the instance that is started and follow the instance through the whole process. This gives the organisation transparancy and everyone in the team can follow the instance, it is not stuck in somenones mailbox. The strength that the process automation tool has is that is easy to learn compared to many other vendors. Another strenght is the process engine that has a good user-interface and is fun to work with as a developer and is a good communcation tool with the customers. Another great thing is that they offer the process automation tool as an on-prem soloution which is vital for the context that my company works with. If we didn't have an on-prem soloution we couldnt build as many soloution with this plattform.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The process automation tool has some bugs that takes a long time to resolve. It is build on an old architecture and if they just fix that old architecture (xtjs) alot of issues would be resolved since otherwise the product is very good.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business cases that cant be solved with an ERP-system. The result that the customers get is transparency with instances, faster time to resolve an instance, saves money for the customers since they might not need every role that they had before, less use of internal post and papers, less stress.

  ### 8. The support team is always available

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno C. | Quality Assurance, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The collaboration opportunities and the ability to share solutions are amazing. The process automation tool is perfect. It is a powerful tool with tremendous potential.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Scalability limitations raise concerns as we had to move from InRule and develop our, in house business rules system.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule is handling configuration and usage. It allows the setup and modification of business rules. It has simplified the management of rules.

  ### 9. Effective Rules Engine

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

I like that the syntax is easy to understand to the business.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

It can be difficult writing a rule when you need to move a line item elsewhere. The syntax options do not always match up with what is needed in the logic when cutting/pasting, causing me to have to re-write logic when I need it shifted.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule is used for our omnichannel decisioning, contact frequencies, and repossession automation, and contact decisioning.

  ### 10. DURGAS REVIEW ON INRULE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Durga C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

WE CAN WRITE COMPLEX VALIDATIONS WITH LESS OR NO CODING

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

RUN AS SERVICE. STILL LEARNING. I NEED MORE EXPOSURE TO THIS TOOL

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TO MINIMIZE AND LESS MAINTENANCE OF RULES ENGINE THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE WHICH WAS DEVELOPED IN HOUSE.

  ### 11. Inrule success

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** kirk p. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Inrule has lowered the time of, and the complexity of adding new ruleapps greatly. It integrates seamlessly into our environment

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

We need to do additional work to massage data, it would be great if inrule handled that better

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefit for us is to lighten the load on our development team

  ### 12. Good support and help with custom code resulted in a project delivered on original timeline.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Support in customizing C# code to support generating input data sets and loading of return data sets from the inRule portal.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Bit of a learning curve to get used to functionality and customization procedures.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retiring legacy custom rule code to completly move to InRule

  ### 13. Fast, well written rules engine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Business language editing allows for low interaction with our development staff.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Getting data in and out of InRule is not as efficient as we would like.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing interpretation of data received for underwriting purposes

  ### 14. Inrule Recap

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timm S. | Technical Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule has allowed us to create a baseline of the validations we use for clients to be applied specifically on new clients by enabling them. This has cut the time it takes us to create new ruleapps and add rules dramatically.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Some of the rules where we need additional logic are difficult to know where we are pointed to. Some of the preexisting data doesn't always match exactly what I would expect on our file. More defined or more complex examples would be beneficial.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its allowed us to cut down the time it takes to create a client file and add all pertained rules. Base files not include all the most common rules so when a new rule app is created we only have to enable the common ones.

  ### 15. Great application, great support team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The application is very flexible, allowing us to send data for InRule to process and receive instructions on what processes need to be initiated. If changes need to be made to the rules, we can test in a lower environment and promote to production very quickly. The support team is always available to assist when trying to solve for new problems.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

In order to save your work, you have to check in your progress even if you are not finished building the rules. You could disable the incomplete rules so they are not used but it would be nice not to have to check it in. If your computer restarts, the login page does not remember your recent catalogs or your username/password.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we receive payments, InRule processes the data to determine if agents need to review the accounts and what type of actions need to be taken. InRule can also determine what group of agents should review the account.

  ### 16. Stable and reliant workhorse on the background

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sjoerd S. | Information Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule has a rich predefined tool pallet, with which the majority of business rules can be evaluated. From very simple ones (e.g. addition of 2 numbers) to very complex ones (e.g. calculating multi-dimensional conformity result predictions for a batch, based on individual measurements on an array of samples, taking into account a specific law-year). and that all without classic software development. I hear all techies think: "yeah, that's right. In the end you come back to us". But unfortunately for you: No. Get used to it. This is what you want.
It allows you to create logic, based on an information architecture perspective, rather than a software development perspective. That is a huge advantage. Further, the ability to call the engine with basic web services enables you to place the engine in the center of your organization. The tool has a very intuitive promotion mechanism (Development, Test, Preproduction, Production, etc.)

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Out of the box the promotion mechanism lacks the ability to predefine endpoint deviations throughout the different production stages. E.g: In your Test environment a certain database is located on instance DBInstance-T and in your Acceptance environment in instance DBInstance-A. After promoting from T to A the references to this db instance must be alterd manually.

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

Give it a try. I have no experience with other business rule engines, but I also do not have any urge of demand to explore others. InRule does fulfill a gap of which I did not realize it was existing a few years ago. It is the tool you never asked for, but you do not want to do without it in the future.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, 80% of our in house developed application software consisted of business logic, along with 20% application and interface logic. Each change in business logic resulted in software deployments, with the corresponding testing and acceptance effort and costs. This is now hugely diminished. The business logic can now be tested and accepted separately.

  ### 17. InRule allows our internal users the ability to configure complex business rules

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Being able to offload work that would historically have to be coded by our software developers to our business users

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Not something that I disliked, just more of a challenge during our implementation when we were still learning how InRule would work. We had to restructure the workflow and pass in more data than we initially had scoped in our API request so that everything was available to evaluate our various business rules.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company works in the insurance claims space with hundreds of insurance carriers with proprietary rules around processing and paying out a claim. We are using InRule to determine if our estimates are accurate based on the carrier's explanation of benefits. InRule allows us to configure those complex rules at an individual carrier level by our business users rather than having our engineering team code those complex rules.

  ### 18. Flexible and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrik W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The staff is very friendly and always keen on solving any problem.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

We are using an old solution and, there are few people at Inrule that have the competence.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we are primarily using it for our OE/Cap. (Operation experience / corrective action process)

  ### 19. InRule is very user friendly. The setups allow you to use it regardless of technical ability.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

It's easy to train people after understanding the basics. Creating rules is fast. Testing and promoting are quick and easy to complete as well.
I do not work with other software to compare it to, but I would imagine the ease of use is hard to match

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The main dislike is the ability to report on it in a user-display way. We can run reports, but it's all tech written instead of layperson's terms.
Sometimes the software is slow to load or times out due to the number of rules and rule apps we have. Promotions can do this as well, but not a deal breaker

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiently lets us create rules to help flag what will not be reimbursed by corporate clients. Saves everyone time and money.
We've been able to create and turn around rules faster than the old way of writing it out in XSLT code.

  ### 20. My point of view

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomas N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about InRule?**

It is a helpful tool to improve processes and workflows. But it takes an effort from the organisation to establish the process you are working on. It is sometimes easy to underestimate that.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

I dont really see any downsides. it works well.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Save time for employees working in various roles

  ### 21. We are able to write our own predefined rules

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divya S. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

In Our project the code base is same for all the countries and we are using IR to write the various countries rules. We no need to do a hard coding in our project. We depend upon the IR.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Whenever User set up the IR for first time in their machine, we are having the problem to test the rules, the values for the rules are not coming properly. Sometimes we take help of IR Teamto resolve the issues.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

IR Business Team helped us resolving the issue after we raise a ticket with the respective Team.

  ### 22. Easy to use Rule Engine

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew R. | Application Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Ability to create/modify rules and test them via the UI.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

No reporting on how a decision was made. From a business perspective, there is no way to see an override and which ruleset did that override. Too easy to abuse contracts, i.e String1, String2 and reuse this crap everywhere...

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently it is used to handle how business rules and processes are determined, i.e. date rules, based on over 15 attributes passed in, we look in multiple different decision tables, or rule sets to determine the actual date to be returned.

**Official Response from Peter Fudalej:**

> Hi Andrew, thanks for the review, appreciate the feedback. We’d love to address some of your concerns. We do have a visual trace that will show the rule execution flow and state changes – including overrides by downstream rulesets, this should alleviate some of the concerns. Further, with our Advanced Find, users can discover all the rules that reference a specific field. We’d love to set up a time to discuss more and show you how these features will help, we’ll have someone reach out to you. Thanks for being an InRule customer.

  ### 23. Principal Engineer

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Easy to plug in. In microservice world , we could set up the inrule as a separate microservice. Business rules can be implemented with minimal implementation.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Very pricy , In our implementations, we don't use UI interface much, so the inrule implementations can be replaced with microservices or a plugin component which can reduce the company expenses.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have very complicated business rules need to be executed when a user submit their records. We have different actors in the system. We have written different variations of rules with some of the rules are inherited from the existing rules and used against super users.

**Official Response from Peter Fudalej:**

> Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate the review. InRule’s SDK provides many opportunities to create custom authoring experiences. Customers usually benefit from a well-defined and supported API and a supported execution engine. At any point, customers can pivot between our UI and their custom UI. Since generated rules are within the platform, they can take advantage of our DevOps automation, support for DMN, and reporting. Many in-house projects can solve the narrow execution but often don’t have the investment to make those rules social, provide analysis tooling (metrics, reporting, merge, simulation, etc), or offer critical support for high-risk areas of the business. In some cases, customers discover they need to run on different platforms (Java, JS, .NET, iOS, Android, etc) and the in-house project usually only supports a single language. Every decision project must weigh the risk/reward of working with a decision management platform and the shelf-life of its internal investment. We'd love to discuss this in more detail, please reach out to our team when you have time. Thanks!

  ### 24. Use of InRules depends on the problem you're trying to solve

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

has a UI interface for users that's fairly easy to understand

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The limiting factor of InRules was 2 fold
Maintaining different levels of access for roles (Admin, Reviewer, Editor) and within certain business group functionalities
Scalability to have millions of users calling the business rules adhoc for running business rules driving a large website - the cost didn't outweight the benefit.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's not solving the problems we had and we actually had to move away fro Inrule to build our own business rules system in house. This also reduced the cost to ensure scalability of managing our multi million users website

**Official Response from Peter Fudalej:**

> Hey there,

Thanks for your review of InRule, we really appreciate your feedback! InRule’s Catalog Manager allows administrators to create custom rules that easily fit (Reviewer, Editor, Owner) for a rule application. Rule authors can also check out aspects of a rule application for multiple user access to the same rule application. Alternatively, InRule provides multiple deployment options to fit the footprint of each project including native execution as JavaScript within a web application. We understand that not every project has the complexity to require a decision management platform. Usually, the business case is bound to business risk and accessibility to non-technical owners. If you'd like to talk in more detail, one to one, please reach out to us and we'd be happy to help. Thanks again!

  ### 25. The decisioning tool does exactly what it says it does and works perfectly for our use case.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | Global Development Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The authoring tool allows the business users to create and modify their rules in real time rather than using developers.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The support for batch processing of data (running same rule on a data set) would be helpful

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability for the business users of the application to create, modify, test and share with other users their rules and workflow without using developers.

  ### 26. Easy to learn and flexible to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

It is easy to learn and my team was able to quickly adapt. It was also flexible in terms of integrating with our existing entprise apps.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The learning support could be enhanced and better documentation of syntax would help more.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Externalizing rules and decision making in our apps.

  ### 27. Inrule as our decision management system has been a very productive and adaptable to users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** GopiChand P. | Technical Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Can be easily adaptable to novice users. Best in class performance of rule exections, throughput. allows lot of custommization with ease.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

One downside would be on its lack of bulk processing as we have huge number of jobs that run on daily/hourly basis.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Decision makings, validations, business process triggers

  ### 28. Seamless Integration with InRule

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Business-friendly language makes working with InRule very user friendly. irAuthor is very easy to navigate through and provides users exceptional tools to organize.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

With irAuthor 5.6, I would like to be able to run segmental RuleApp reports so we can identify an individual rule. The full report is difficult to work with because of unneeded data elements.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business logic for our organization's application helps us find alternative approaches to different problems. The logic in place allows us to solve recurring issues for member eligibility and coverage.

  ### 29. Easy to configure and use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ertugrul A. | Sr. Software Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The installation is easy and the business logic configuration can be done by business users without needing help from a developer.
It also does not require a complex deployment process.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

UI of irAuthor could be more modern and easy to use. It is not sometimes really easy to find the components or the correct tabs to configure the business logic.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we are using it mainly for approval processes. We have some roles defined in our system and each role can approve up to some certain amount. And the amount changes time to time. So, we created a decision matrix in InRule and we modify it if required. No code change is required for it.

  ### 30. Good system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James D. | Loyalty Operations Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The system is easy to use and good for beginners

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Nothing at this moment in time that i dislike

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Airline rulesets

  ### 31. InRule Usage

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Venkatachalamoorthy C. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Easy configuration and to set the active date very straightforward. Unit testing is very easy from InRule. We can configure the If else condition logic, compare the diff reports.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

It consumes more time to open and save the InRule file. Diff report is not working properly. Reading the record from DB takes more time and due to that, PROD servers become down.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For HealthCare domain, we can easily configure the Network benefit level stuff and other things. We can reuse the same rules for multiple products. And we can read the data from DB.

  ### 32. Inrule has made rules and decision business logics easy, collaborative and impactful.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayushi R. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

It's the capability to connect with different systems like Salesforce. It can connect to Salesforce easily and we can build rules around salesforce objects. Inrule team is also very collaborative. They help us out whenever we reach out to them. Creating rules is also easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Nothing specific. But if I have to choose one thing, I will say debugging in irAuthor can be made more intuitive. And debugging on Azure can also be improved. If we get better error messages when creating and executing rules, we can debug them better.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to price the transactions executed in Salesforce using InRule. The time to execute and price the transactions has been reduced. Also it is scalable so it is able to price multiple transactions at a time.

  ### 33. Inrule is a good product for authoring business rules

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Inrule is quite easy to learn without much complexity. Tool is quite easy and has lot of good features with integration to external systems easily. it also allow you to write shared functions which could be used across rule sets when needed which is awsome and brings in code modularity to the core.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Not much i would say. Only one thing that crossed my mind is performance of using irAuthor when the ruleapps are big and irAuthor tends to lag in behavior.

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

Inrule is an extremely great tool for someone who want to author business rules in a fairly non-technical language. And it is easy to deploy and host business rules with out any downtime. And good thing is it has connectivity to all major players in the database world so writing rules against data is a piece of cake to say the least. Definetely a product, i encourage everyone to use it.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing business rules in an easy way. Also verisioning the ruleapps and using different versions based on the use case.

  ### 34. Great prduct

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mehmet B. | Product Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

It has a reliable workflow and rule engine. We use inRule for all of our workflow needs. It is a great relief to fulfill our needs without doing any complex programming.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

I still find it cumbersome to manage two seperate modules author and server. I wish you consolidate them. It would be great if you can provide seperate SDK for mobile apps

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

great product

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We code business rules easliy

  ### 35. INrule

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Very easy to use and good customer service.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Too many installs and llicensing to maintain.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the decision table piece of it.

  ### 36. Easy to learn and use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Perwez A. | Software Engineer Senior, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Setting up rules is so easy and you don't need to have a heavy technical background. Anyone can configure and understand the rules without a lot of effort.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Some big decision tables make the system slow while looping thru the rules to find the correct match.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are a lot of customization rules we need to help our client's requirements. Those are driven by inRule

  ### 37. First Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The configurability of the rules in inRule

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

We want extensibilities in the product to be better for custom fetching of data, eg. in the Dynamics plugin, which is performance heavy.

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

Look at your business needs and map them towards the product, evaluate how much customization that needs to be done

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Configuration of business rules in a Dynamics solution

  ### 38. Highly configurable engine, with great support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The rule engine is highly configurable, and without any training and actually not being a technical person myself, I was able to set up rules and understand how I should configure the engine for the best result. The inRule team was very helpful along the way, consulting on both on the technical side and the business one, sharing best practices from their vast experience.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The UI is a bit old-fashioned from other competitors, but that does not compromise the user experience for the business analyst and the architects, since this is not a customer-facing system.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have implemented in inRule the majority of the decision-making process. We have used it mostly in bulk decision making (periodic scoring and decision making on data sets) rather than on-line desicions for specific cases, even though the performance was very good.

  ### 39. We implemented InRule BRMS in ZEPPELIN Eurasia and use it together with Dynamics365.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmytro G. | Solutions Architect, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule is customer oriented company and provides a team of professionals to help InRule solution implementation. InRule team organized trainings for us, consulted during discovery, design and development phases. As well, there is a public GitHub repository with a huge amount of useful samples and solutions.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

InRule BRMS is built on .NET WCF -- it is an old technology and not so convenient like .NET Core for instance. At the moment when we implemented InRule, there was Integration Framework for Dynamics 365 in early beta version. So, we faced with some issues and had to develop our own integration service between Dynamics 365 and InRule. This year our team will re-check out-of-the-box solution.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- single repository for complex formulas and calculations
- business analysts define requirements and implement by themself (business rules, formulas, calculations, conditions verifications, etc.)
- capability to test and trace business rules, including testing on real data. Simple switching between different environments (dev, qa, prod CRM, ERP, etc).

As a result, we made a time to market shorter and team of developers and analysts became more balanced (there is no overloading among developers).

  ### 40. Solid Rules Engine

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronildo B. | Salesforce Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2022

InRule helped us to organize and view business rules in one central place

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Even though the tool is made for non-technical users it requires some level of technical expertise

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use InRule to calculate a series of business rules in a serialized way

  ### 41. InRule in Financial Services

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nardesh D. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule is a true citizen development tool, coupled with a fantastic Road Team provides the key ingredients for successful project delivery.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Our custom installation required more time than we had planned and initial confusion regarding RuleHelper.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Principally utilising InRule to compute the financial solutions for customers. Also utilising InRule to aid with letter automation.

  ### 42. Powerfull technology, full of options, easy to work with, even when starting from scratch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

The technology is powerfull. It provides a variety of options to achieve professional goals. It is easy to start working with it, even when a person has 0 experience with it. InRule provides good support when requested and helpful documentation through their portal.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

The official documentation is overall good, but it has room for improvement. Expression language takes a bit of time to get the hang of.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule is used as a scoring software. Optimization of the software is good and provides very quick operations, even when a lot of data is processed.

  ### 43. We can reduce code logic and complexity using InRule

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janith J. | Senior Backend Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2022

**What do you like best about InRule?**

Allow to write configurable logic and it is very easy to change the logics time to time changing simple parameters.
It is very good for bulk data analysis and process

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

Learning curve is bit higher but if we learn concept better then it would be easy

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complex customers analysis based on various parameters.

Benefits
Reduce code complexity
Very easy to change requirements
Maintenances are very easy
Decouple business logic with core system

  ### 44. Very powerful decision tree application and can modify logic quickly.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2021

**What do you like best about InRule?**

How InRule helped us with configuring the UI for Salesforce. The decision tree model was beneficial with filtering out and providing the correct questions per level for our engineers to fill out. Can change and modify logic quicker in InRule than Salesforce. What takes hours in InRule could take days or weeks in coding in Salesforce. It was a huge time saver for business/rules logic.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

So far do not see any issues with this tool. However, It is another tool we have to use for our fulfillment work to be completed. We have too many tools now and trying to minimize the number of tools we use today.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule was used to determine question eligibility, child question visibility, question bundling and identifying Nonconformances/Discrepancies within the site, scheme, product and customer relationships.
InRule was used to bundle audit questions from different products and have the engineer answer the same question per product only once. This was a huge time savor when only having to answer the same question once. We are using this product for less than 50 engineers right now. Plan is to use it for over 2,000 engineers next year.

  ### 45. great ROI

The flexibility of authoring rules, managing rules, and publishing rules to externalize business rules outside of my applications and solutions

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

license model is too complicated and restrictive

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Avoid redeploy solutions when business rule change; avoid using developers to author business rules. reduce cost and risks of the solution

  ### 46. Putting the power into users’ hands

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

InRule has helped us empower our end users to both view and edit our algorithms versus our previous blackbox solution.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

InRule wasn't necessarily built with engineering solutions in mind which has caused some challenges around precision and units.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule enables us to work with our clients to develop transparent and configurable engineering algorithms. No more blackbox, client has more control.

  ### 47. Excellent Rule Engine

I love that in InRule I can switch between simple typed logic and more advanced function logic. The customer support is top notch and our questions are always handled professionally and promptly. The product is great and we use it daily.

**What do you like best about InRule?**

InRule's software is highly customizable, and we were able to integrate their solution into our in-house built application easily.

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

There is a learning curve to using the software, but they have a team of folks who are dedicated to guiding us on our journey.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InRule's software allowed us to take our algorithm processes and move them from DB2 mainframe hard-coding to a cloud-based application that is flexible and maintainable by our power users.

  ### 50. A flexible tool for business rule authoring and execution with complex possibilities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James S. | Business Solutions Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about InRule?**

configuration, integration with Dynamics, flexibility and power in defining out of box and custom rules in english language. ability to add custom entities and attributes for calculations in rule execution

**What do you dislike about InRule?**

some more complex features could be easier to set up, vocabulary can be powerful but difficult at times to understand the best approach to configuration. I would like to have more information and help in the system to make it easier to work out solutions to specific rules that I may be struggling with. I don't find myself in InRule every day so sometimes the change in context can be a little painful.

**Recommendations to others considering InRule:**

This product is extremely powerful and can be used in almost any situation where other workflows may be more complex to implement, and may be less flexible and scalable. The setup in terms of integration with Dynamics CRM is a little difficult and required some consulting in order to implement to support the specifics of our implementation, but the Inrule technical staff were able to get us worked out and helped us get to the end goal to make it configurable in the manner we desired.

**What problems is InRule solving and how is that benefiting you?**

business rules around eligibility for certain services, complex compounded criteria driving outcome by decision tables, integration with CRM, real-time rules, more complex calculations extending CRM capabilities. Building in a repeatable, scalable manner helps to reduce implementation time for "add-on scenarios"
