A great tool for used car departments **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021 **What do you like best about identifix?** Identifix allows us to find repair times for off brand vehicles that allows us to estimate repair costs to customer and/or to our sales department for used cars. It also allows us to find out information about off brand cars like wiring diagrams, repair instructions, part locations, etc. **What do you dislike about identifix?** Sometimes there is no labor time available for specific repairs (i.e. engine harness replacement) which makes it difficult to retrieve the proper amount of time when quoting insurance companies for repairs. Also, the system is a little difficult to navigate unless you know exactly what you are looking for and where to go. **Recommendations to others considering identifix:** The two main systems we have seen are prodemand and Identifix. Our autogroup has had the opportunity to use both and have found Identifix to prevail based on the features they have to offer. Before making a commitment it would be helpful to check out all of the features of both systems to see which would meet your needs the best. **What problems is identifix solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been able to quote out repairs and ensure that we are getting the appropriate labor times to our customers, to our sales department, to insurance companies, and to extended warranty companies. Having a common labor guide makes it more transparent and can also be helpful if labor times are not located in the warranty labor guide for the specific brands you work with. Identifix also allows my technicians who are not necessarily trained to work on specific problems/cars to access repair processes, wiring diagrams, tsbs and other helpful information to help them properly diagnose/repair vehicles. ### 2. Also like how you can get real tech experience on a concern and that can help guide you with your own diagnostic. **What do you dislike about identifix?** Sometimes the information I'm looking for is a little hard to find, or when you search, it’ll say the data is unavailable. I wish I could see docs on my scanner as well. It doesn't let me see certain information on my scan tool because of software differences. **What problems is identifix solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving many customer concerns with vehicles and diagnostics that I would've taken much longer to solve without identifix. I find the old school books ie mitchell more helpful. **What do you dislike about identifix?** hard to find specific repairs, I have been in the industry for 15 years and have difficulty finding labor times for common repairs. I think the key words should be expanded, it seems like it is only partially completed. I resort to using labor times for warranty and calculating manually, it is easier to do. **What problems is identifix solving and how is that benefiting you?** not solving any problems, I work around it because it is not that helpful. I am not benefitting from this product, at least not very often. ### 4. The search comes back with how to diag the problem an explanation of the system along with other professionals solutions to the same problem in order by amount. **What do you dislike about identifix?** The interface is a bit dated. It has an old look to it. **Recommendations to others considering identifix:** Awesome **What problems is identifix solving and how is that benefiting you?** As an ASE certified auto tech I find its input very insightful. ### 5.
