Key benefits include -- "Set and Forget" Administration, Availability, Hybrid data support and flexible deployments and last not the least the cost **What do you dislike about IBM Informix?** lack of free trial and trial access, low penetration and that impacts the support that clients may need, EOL and also perception on the old technology or legacy issue **What problems is IBM Informix solving and how is that benefiting you?** Informix is known for its "set it and forget it" design, featuring self-managing and self-tuning capabilities. It benefits users through reduced administrative costs, extreme reliability in edge environments, and flexible handling of mixed relational and in addition to that high availability with small foot prints which has good cost savings ### 2. The IBM consultant is wonderful at his job but does not have the tools to finish the incident that occurred. ### 3. This is real quick and gives you output direct from memory. This probably is one of the best utility when you are troubleshooting. Apart from that, setting up replication is super easy. One of the best database i have ever used **What do you dislike about IBM Informix?** there is nothing which i dislike about this product. **What problems is IBM Informix solving and how is that benefiting you?** Earlier we were having issues with the application performance when we were on oracle 11g. But then we migrated from Oracle to Informix and we have seen our application is just flying like anything. Response time was super awesome and failover was mindblowing. ### 4. Short keys and cross-database operations are very convenient. It is easy to write a shell to operate different databases. **What do you dislike about IBM Informix?** Its performance doesn't as good as Oracle's in massive data. So we have to divide the database into small databases. **What problems is IBM Informix solving and how is that benefiting you?** My company used it for core business applications for its convenience. And it's easy for data replication to do business analysis. ### 5. I consolidated my three apps' data in one database, and it never failed. **What do you dislike about IBM Informix?** Its pricing is what makes it not that popular in the market and because of this sharing of database or hiring people makes it difficult. Creating databse is bit difficult. **What problems is IBM Informix solving and how is that benefiting you?** For me, support and storing data in the cloud was the most needed, which got fulfilled with quality. Loading and modifying data in IBM Informix is speedy and easy. ### 6. Onstat's command will give you all the details of database. I have used other databases as well but no one can beat IBM Informix. It's fast, stable and secure. **What do you dislike about IBM Informix?** What i dislike is when it generates Assertion failure we have to log a case to know weather we have been hit by a defect or what could be the cause of this assertion. Although support team responds very quickly. **What problems is IBM Informix solving and how is that benefiting you?** In other databases we have not been getting good response time, so we have been compromising response time from years until we started using IBM informix. Our response time with same application logic increases by 60%. ### 8.
