## HYCU Reviews
  ### 1. A Simple and Reliable Backup Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothée S. | Administrateur Système Cloud, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2024

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

I appreciate the ease of use of HYCU, which allows me to spend less time managing backups. The installation was very simple, and the simplicity of deployment and administration allows me to manage the solution efficiently, with just a glance at email notifications to check that everything is working well. Native dashboards in HYCU provide a global view of the backup status. I also like that HYCU manages backups protected by WORM technology ("Object Lock" features). The reliability of the solution has really helped me optimize my time compared to my previous solution, Commvault, which I found more complex.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

The main area for improvement in HYCU is in the configuration of backups. For example, I would like to be able to schedule a monthly backup on the 15th of the month, but HYCU does not offer the possibility to do so because HYCU is a solution designed to be based on meeting RTO/RPO (with configurable time windows) rather than on strict scheduling.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HYCU protects my backups with WORM and Object Lock, simplifies deployment and administration, and saves me daily time thanks to its ease of use, unlike Commvault.

**Official Response from HYCU Marketing:**

> Dear Timothée, it is wonderful to learn that HYCU helped you solve the complexity issues of your previous backup solution.

We are committed to providing reliable and efficient backup solutions to our clients.

  ### 2. Efficient Agentless VMware Backups with Clear Visibility and Responsive Hycu Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dileep S. | IT Support Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

For VMware, agentless backup process works efficiently and reduce overhead on vm.
Backup and restore process is straightforward and centralized dashboard gives clear visibility of jobs across all workloads
Automated backups with different policy reduce manual effort and enabling faster with more precise recovery.
It's a good solution for organization managing both SaaS and onprem environment.
Hycu support has responsive and helpfull when we encountered issues.
Hycu provides strong integration with vmware allowing to manage backup from single dashboard
Pricing is straightforward and user based, flexible, lower upfront cost

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

Cost estimation can be bit complex due to consumption based pricing without proper planning.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

on-prem, cloud, Saas are all in single platform
Reduces manual effort and runs automatically once all set on backup policy
Easy monitoring

  ### 3. Seamless Backup for Nutanix Environments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard E. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

I find HYCU really simple to use for backing up all of our virtual machines both to a local device and into the cloud, giving us on-site and off-site backups. It's simple for our technical team to use and integrates seamlessly with Nutanix. The support we've received from HYCU has been excellent. It's a great addition to the final product we offer to our customers, ensuring their machines are safely backed up. Setting it up with HYCU was really easy as they worked closely with our technical team.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

I honestly don't think there's anything that could be added. Perhaps a mobile phone app that would report successful backups that we can have a quick look at.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find HYCU makes it simple to back up virtual machines both locally and to the cloud. It provides on-site and off-site backups, integrates seamlessly with Nutanix, and is easy for our technical team to use.

  ### 4. Seamless Nutanix Integration with Fast Backups and a Smooth, Easy UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

Integrates and works with Nutanix seamlessly. Performs well backing up quickly and ensures we hit all our backup and restore targets.

The user interface is smooth and easy to navigate, information you need is easy to find and never far away.

When needed we have found the technical support staff to really know the product and solve our issue or answer our query first time..

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

The only downside we have found in our years of using HYCU is how it backs up physical servers in our environment. We don't have many of them but they are not differentiated in the UI from the virtual servers, and backing up a server with a large disk that is less than 20% full still takes a very long time.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We replaced a legacy backup system that was hard to manage due to an overly complicated UI and a very old fashioned outlook on how backups should work. It relied on a lot of training and could only really be understood by a couple of people.

We were able to replace this with a fresh modern backup system that takes a different approach to backups while still allowing us to fully protect our data with local and offsite/cloud backups. Now a large number of people are able to field backup/restore calls with minimal training or instructions.

The integration with our Nutanix system is second to none. Not needing to install or update agents regularly saves time and effort that we used to have to do regularly to keep our backup system up to date. Maintenance is now simple and much less of an issue.

The savings we have made by moving from a legacy provider have been a nice side effect.

  ### 5. Dependable, Easy-to-Use Backup with Great Support and Nutanix Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen B. | Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

Dependable and easy to use, with straightforward upgrades and very good support. Adding on prem or cloud storage is also easy to do and HYCU integrates well with Nutanix.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

Overall, I’m very happy with HYCU. One thing I’ve run into, and would like to see added, is the ability to include the date in the name of a scheduled report.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HYCU makes it easy to back up and restore data, whether you’re using on-prem storage or cloud storage.

**Official Response from Kelly Pease:**

> Dear Stephen,

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that HYCU has been dependable and easy to use, and that storage flexibility and Nutanix integration have been working well for you.

We appreciate your feedback on including dates in scheduled report names and will make sure it's passed along to our product team.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need assistance or have further feedback!

  ### 6. Sober interface, fast restoration, and very efficient support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas T. | Administrateur réseau et systèmes, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

The interface is simple and efficient. I also appreciate its connection with Nutanix, the speed of restoration, as well as the different options offered for restoring. Finally, the support is very effective.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

The pricing seems a bit high to me nonetheless.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to be efficient when a problem arises with our VMs or our files, and to have great responsiveness in our maintenance operations. This naturally encourages migrations and new projects, because in the event of an incident we can quickly roll back. Moreover, some AI-driven automatic managements are quite well handled.

**Official Response from Kelly Pease:**

> Dear Nicolas,

Thank you for your review! We're thrilled to hear that the interface, Nutanix connectivity, restoration speed and support have all been hitting the mark for you.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need assistance or have further feedback!

  ### 7. Consistently Reliable with Intuitive Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** colin.pyne@rippleffect.com P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

I like that HYCU is simple and continually just works with very few issues over 5 years. I appreciate the delegation of roles and data access within Office 365 backups, allowing other team members or non-technical people to access their data, so they can restore their own data. The interface in HYCU is simpler to configure and maintain compared to Veeam. The initial setup was very easy, with HYCU support assisting us; it was up and running in minutes.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

Until recently, upgrading the Nutanix on-prem software could be a little time-consuming, requiring manual downloading and uploading of images. There has been a recent update to make this much smoother now.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HYCU is simple and just works for backups of Nutanix and Office 365. It allows me to delegate roles, letting end users restore their own data, ensuring fewer issues over 5 years.

  ### 8. HYCU: simple and cloud-native deployment, effective Microsoft 365 backup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

HYCU stands out for its simplicity of deployment and its cloud-native approach. The tool allows for the quick protection of environments like Microsoft 365 without complex infrastructure. Centralized management, granular restorations, and global visibility offer a real time-saving advantage in operations.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

On the automation side, HYCU remains quite limited as soon as one moves beyond standard use cases. The solution is very effective in a "set and forget" logic with simple predefined policies, which is ideal for quick deployments. However, this simplicity comes at the expense of flexibility for more complex environments. [hycu.com] Specifically:

Advanced scheduling capabilities remain relatively limited, with few detailed options to orchestrate complex backup scenarios. [g2.com] Automation relies mainly on built-in mechanisms rather than customizable workflows (such as multi-step orchestration). Integration possibilities via API exist, but they are less rich than in more mature solutions, which limits advanced automation scenarios (CI/CD integration, DR automation).

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HYCU primarily addresses the problem of complexity and fragmentation of backup solutions in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. In many cases, traditional tools require heavy infrastructures (agents, backup servers, maintenance), which greatly complicates operations. HYCU adopts a SaaS and "agentless" approach that significantly simplifies this model by eliminating a large part of the operational constraints.

**Official Response from Kelly Pease:**

> Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that HYCU has helped simplify your Microsoft 365 protection and that centralized management and granular restorations have been a real time-saving advantage in your operations.

We appreciate your detailed feedback on advanced scheduling and automation flexibility and will make sure it's passed along to our product team.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need assistance or have further feedback!

  ### 9. API-Driven Backup That Protects Modern VMs and SaaS Effortlessly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

Instead of forcing old, heavy backup software into modern environments, HYCU connects directly via APIs. It protects everything from standard VMs to niche SaaS tools (like Jira, Okta, and GitHub) and visualizes your entire data estate automatically.

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

Because it’s built purely for modern hyperconverged and cloud environments, it falls short if your data center still relies on bare-metal physical servers or legacy hypervisors like Hyper-V.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The SaaS Backup Gap: Many organizations falsely assume SaaS vendors back up their data. Under the Shared Responsibility Model, vendors only secure the infrastructure—the actual data is the user's responsibility. HYCU provides automated, offsite backups for over 100+ SaaS apps (like Jira, Okta, and GitHub) that traditional backups ignore.

**Official Response from Kelly Pease:**

> Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review! We're glad to hear that HYCU's API-driven approach is working well for your environment, protecting everything from VMs to SaaS tools like Jira, Okta, and GitHub is exactly what we're built for.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need assistance or have further feedback!

  ### 10. Simple and Efficient Backup for Nutanix Environments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about HYCU?**

What I like best about HYCU is how easy it is to use while still being powerful. The integration with Nutanix is seamless, backup management is straightforward, and it simplifies protecting both on-premises and cloud workloads

**What do you dislike about HYCU?**

What I dislike most about HYCU is the lack of an efficient file indexing/search feature. It can be difficult to quickly find a specific file when you need to restore it, particularly in large backup environments.

**What problems is HYCU solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HYCU is solving the challenge of managing backups in a Nutanix environment without relying on overly complex traditional backup tools. The main benefit for us is easier administration, faster restores, and better visibility over protected workloads.

**Official Response from Kelly Pease:**

> Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that the Nutanix integration, ease of use and simplified management of both on-premises and cloud workloads have been working well for you.

We appreciate your feedback on file indexing and search functionality and will make sure it's passed along to our product team.
