It helps me create reports, explore metrics, and share insights with the team in a structured way, without needing to rely heavily on engineering. **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** What I dislike about Holistics Data is that the interface can feel a bit outdated and less intuitive compared to newer BI tools. There’s also a learning curve when it comes to modeling data and setting things up properly, especially for non-technical users. Dashboards as code. Really powerful dashboarding - AQL + Canvas dashboards + AI assistant provide outstanding, polished and meaningul results with deep analysis. Excellent and responsive support team. Integration with dbt. Integration with Google Sheets & Slack make it easy to bring into our workflows. 3rd party access/embedding of dashboards. Product is continuously evolving and adding features. Easy to get to grips with coming from a Looker background, but much better value. **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** Would be great to be able to add an ad-hoc SQL analysis to a dashboard. We needed a BI platform that could handle drill-down analysis, offer a semantic layer for consistent metrics across different data sources, and give end-users more self-service capabilities. And so far, Holistics has checked all those boxes nicely. What really stands out to me is the support. I’ve never had this kind of help from a BI vendor before. Most of the time, I get support from people who work on the product. They reply fast, they know what they’re doing, and they even suggest better ways of solving problems, or sometimes go ahead and fix things for me. That level of hands-on help is rare and super appreciated. The platform is evolving fast. There’s a steady rollout of new features, and I’ve been especially excited about their AI chat and composable query language. It’s clear they’re building with the future in mind, which gives me a lot of confidence in sticking with them. **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** Slight Learning Curve for Self-Service: There’s a bit of a learning curve when it comes to setting up the data model, which means most of our team still leans on a central data builder for now. We haven’t fully tapped into the self-service potential just yet. That said, we’re optimistic about Holistics AI, which can help our business users explore and access data more independently and more easily. **What problems is Holistics Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** Semantic Layer & Governance: Their code-based semantic layer makes it easy to define and reuse metrics centrally, which has been useful for maintaining consistency. Drill-through: The drill-through features work exactly how we need them to, offering that deeper layer of insight. Exceptional Support Quality: We have direct access to product engineers means support goes way beyond just troubleshooting. Rich Dashboard Interactivity: Things like drill-downs, pivoting, and flexible breakdowns make data exploration a lot more intuitive without starting from scratch every time. ### 4. Their team are very friendly and love to work with their customers to improve their product. Overall, the product is fairly easy to use and provides a single place to define your tables and their relationships, leading to less duplication of code. **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** Holistics is missing a few key features that other platforms have e.g. Role Playing Dimensions, Cross model calculations. However, I know the team are looking into these missing features. **What problems is Holistics Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** Holistics solves the problem of providing a single place for our business stakeholders to view company level KPI's and key metrics. It also provides an easy way for the company to share dashboards with users without them having to login. It has all the data visualizations that an organization might need, but it has the capability to let you create new visualizations via (xml- vega lite visualizations). **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** In some visualizations I would like to have a bit more of autonomy to run my own specific configurations. I reckon with some time spent on training, if the platform produces its own learning resources, I'll be super-confident with it. **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** My only quibbles are around finding it difficult to customise existing datasets and visualisations, and our team finds it very slow - we'll be stuck at 99% progress for minutes on end frequently. **What problems is Holistics Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can now pinpoint specific data from various sources, such as a phone number entered into our webforms, and have it pulled from the metadata without manual effort. The report itself is very useful to support daily report view. The automatic setup and tracing back is really useful to be used and provided to be really good. **What do you dislike about Holistics Data?** The Holistics is very technical and for non technical users to use it requires a lot of training. Would be great if we can have the product to be easier to use. **Recommendations to others considering Holistics Data:** Scalability of the analytics is one of the major highlight of using Holistics. The software will be able to support in adjusting and working out analytical needs that seems to be easy but too troublesome to be implemented every time a new requirement appears. **What problems is Holistics Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** Long ago, before Holistics for us to setup a simple report coming from data pool requires a lot of heavy lifting but after implementing this, for each additional simple report becomes very easy.
