Some features of HCL Domino rely on Notes Client which is a limitation for migration of software. There is limited third-party service integration which restricts someone to migrate to HCL Domino. Domino is and has always been the fastest rapid development platform enabling IT teams to respond to application/process requirements within hours or days compared to other tech platforms that would require weeks or months til delivery. It’s difficult to name real downsides running the Domino platform. It‘s an application and collaboration and messaging platform and the appearance/UI of apps strongly depends on the developers. Just writing that since the „old school“ UI has in some cases been a point of criticism. But honestly, it’s not the platform, it’s the capability and feeling for good design of the respective development team that makes apps work well and look modern.
