It has almost every feature that Adobe Photoshop has but not with the price tag making it great for someone who edits photos but is not a professional. Though not every feature is included that is in Adobe Photoshop, for the price comparison, it has a ton of options that are available. On it's own it's a decent image correction device, but once you really dive into using it, it is an extremely powerful tool. I recently started taking a course to open up my knowledge to what all GIMP can do. **What do you dislike about GIMP?** It's hard to say what I don't like since I am still finding out more and more about it now that I am using it for more than simple edits. Maybe the fact that it took a course for me to figure out additional things might be what I dislike most. An experienced artist with digital editing suites can achieve great things with GIMP, but might be taken aback from the strange interface at first. My mindset when using this was to treat it like Photoshop, but know that it is a different software. I use this for: -Basic Graphic Design -Logos -Changing file type -Drawing (compatible with my WACOM Bamboo tablet) **What do you dislike about GIMP?** As far as my purposes go, none of the shortcuts in Adobe Photoshop really apply here. One will have to adjust to the intricacies of GIMP (I use GIMP 2), but for most people, the same end results they'd achieve in Photoshop can be accomplished here. Of course, this app has certain quirks, like needing to add an alpha channel for a transparent-enabled layer. The interface isn't as intuitive as Photoshop, nor are the tools as versatile. It is somewhat confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, you wont look back. **Recommendations to others considering GIMP:** GIMP is powerful enough to rival that of Adobe's Photoshop. Gimp is an alternative to other softwares like Photoshop that although it is very good, its cost can also be higher and in turn it is heavier so in some computers it can be somewhat slow if you have enough space on the hard disk. Gimp on the other hand is very light. It does not weigh more than 300 megabytes. The latest version has updates that have improved each of its features. The GIMP toolbox offers several selection tools, among which are rectangles, elliptical, free, diffuse and color, which is very useful when you want to create for example an image in .png or when you want to modify the color of a specific area. **What do you dislike about GIMP?** I have nothing negative to say about GIMP. I am doing very well with this tool as well as being free. It really is a very complete software that can not be missing in any office. **Recommendations to others considering GIMP:** If you don't know GIMP yet, this is the right time to do it. It will cost nothing to try it. You can download it from its official website. I highly recommend it since I use it for some time and it has really been very useful. It is easy to handle.
