GC AI has changed how I spend my time as in-house counsel. Contracting work that used to eat up my days now moves much faster. Legal research is faster too, and so is checking and verifying my work. Finding the history of past matters and earlier work used to take real digging, and now it takes seconds. Together, that means my brainpower goes to meaningful, strategic work that moves the business forward instead of pushing paper. I no longer have to wait weeks for outside counsel to turn a dark corner of legal work back to me. For the vast majority of in-house tasks, I can take a risk-adjusted approach. But I can’t pull the work out of thin air. Instead, I can pull the work out of GC AI (whether that work be research, drafting, responding, or creating templates for new jurisdictions). The quality is great, but it’s really the transformation of making me more responsive and unlocking business decisions so quickly. More connectors / native app integrations for key tasks of my everyday life. It’s not their fault but a function of the ecosystem. I’d like to create a Word doc template direct from GC AI (instead I have to cut and paste the language in, though I really appreciate the instructions on how to most quickly fix formatting). I’d also like to create PowerPoints from nothing. I’d like to query and train on my Gmail / Drive. I’d like enterprise-level roll-up metrics on how my team's usage trends monthly (though I don’t want to see their prompts - the privacy and ability to privately ask “dumb” legal questions is a feature, not a bug!). Our legal team uses GC AI across a broad range of workflows, including contract review, legal research, policy drafting, redlining, negotiation support, and multi-jurisdiction legal analysis. The platform is used by lawyers, contract managers, and members of our privacy and compliance teams, giving us a diverse set of perspectives on its value. Over the past three months, 29 users across these teams have actively used GC AI, generating nearly 4,000 prompts. Based on GC AI's usage metrics, the platform helped save approximately 1,892 hours during that period. Those results align with what we've seen in practice: less time spent on first-pass reviews, legal research, drafting, and analysis, and more time available for strategic advice, negotiation, and risk assessment. There are still areas where we'd like to see continued development. Deeper integrations with Atlassian products, Microsoft platforms, and other business systems would help streamline workflows. We'd also welcome continued improvements to document generation, workflow automation, response customization based on legal risk appetite, and conversation memory in longer interactions. Adoption has varied across our team. Our most frequent users have incorporated GC AI into their daily workflows, while less-frequent users generally cited limited time to explore and configure the platform around their specific practice areas rather than shortcomings in the product itself. It paid for itself on day one. I needed a loan summary that would have cost about $10,000 to send to outside counsel, and I was able to get it done with GC AI. Since then, I’ve used it for everything from building a waterfall and reviewing tax issues to regulatory research, contract review, and drafting communications. That range is the unlock. I have been using it to review different agreements, motions, and court filings. I have also used it to help identify obscure sources and even to find contact information for counties whose records I am trying to locate for projects. I have also had it help me when proposing research memos/answering questions by having it critique my answers and point out any considerations I may have missed prior to submitting the assignment/project. I use GC AI for pretty much everything, from drafting and reviewing documents to conducting legal research and writing emails. GC AI does a great job with contract reviews, including generating combined redlines and margin comments. The company is also constantly updating the product with new features, and it’s great that they keep it current with the latest AI models. There are times when it takes a couple of tries to get the output I’m looking for, especially with more complex or nuanced drafting where I have a specific tone or structure in mind, but often that is because I rush through prompting - - not anything that GC-AI has done wrong.
